What's your explanation on what's wrong with the DB fanbase.

So I was recently browsing the tubes and was watching a video clip of Son Goku and his Friends Return and this got top comment "Why does Goku's voice suck so much dick in Japanese?" it got 49 thumbs up, I get that its their opinion but honestly did they have to be such an asshole about it? When I'm talking down on the dub, I try to not be a dick and respect the voice actors.

Both the Japanese version of DBZ and Kai (both versions) are punching bags for hardcore dubbies. Especially on YouTube comments, the last place to look for civility.

They complain about no Bruce when Bruce left YEARS ago. Basically. For them if you upload the JPN it's a hate comment section. I honestly never seen such disrespect towards an original audio. Even in dub wars. They take nostalgia to a whole new level.

YT seems to be the playground for the more annoying portions of fanbases, for example most comment sections on Vocaloid video's are filled with comments that make the DB dub fan comments look like something a wise man would say by weeaboo's and fans who barely know anything about Vocaloid while the other un-embarrassing fans stick to forums (sound familiar) heck the Vocaloid fanbase even has a wiki with the same problems as the DB one.

Who knows how many times. Anyone can edit to say what ever they want. You could potentially mislead a lot of people.

I've seen a few such as Freeza having no chance against Goku and never getting a hit on him when SSJ Goku fought 100% Freeza, Battle of Gods was suppose to have 4 SSJ3(Gogeta,Goku,Gotenks, and Vegeta), and Raging Blast 2 story mode is a mixture of Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 2(We all know that's a lie)

Think of all the fanboy wars and on youtube and when they use the wiki as a source. There have been numerous changes in the Boo wars, Goku wars, etc to tip the scales into their favor.

The two things that are most abhorrent with the Dragonball fanbase in my eyes are probably the two worst things in most fanbases: elitists and trolls. There's a recurring commonality for people to deal in definites in situations that are entirely subjective in nature, for example: "X Japanese cast member is better than Y American cast member because" or "X is stronger than Y in my power level charts and you're wrong to think otherwise".

Hardcore Dragonball fans tend to invest a lot emotion and passion into their fandom, which can lead to some absolutely turgid online exchanges crammed with adhominum slights invoked because two people have read a small portion of the work differently. I try not to be overly judgmental of the intelligence of some of these people as I recognise that the majority of the fanbase is occupied by younger people - as one would expect of an animation!

They tend to believe in the unknown which is a terrible argument. I just ended a whole thing on why King Cold can't transform. This guy still thinks he can. (argument not on this site)

The only thing I also don't is how the fanbase is stuck on old arguments or topics- Power level discussions, GT sucks...etc

There's also a lot of fake material out there that new/young fans seem to take in as part of the continuity, if you asked on youtube what came after GT you'd get AF, Absalon and DBM. Just the other month another fan was trying to tell me the Gold-haired SSJ4 image was Godku and even though I told him it was fake his response was 'Fan art isn't that good'.

I kind of like the split in the fandom, it's good to have a debate within reason and I think most fans get to the point where they either lose interest in the franchise or want to learn more about it, in which case their quest for knowledge will probably end up here. How many of us at one point might have argued AF was real? Or that Paikuhan was a Namek?

Because the fanbase is full of retards who think that DBZ >>>>> Anything else, and there's only a handful of sensible fans who don't think that Goku soloes the fictional universe. Luckily there's sensible people on this site.
