The part where it's stated isn't enough?

Are you ignoring my post? Vegeta said that the huge Boo was transforming again and turned into Pure Boo. Kaioshin even confirmed that this huge Boo was the same form that Boo had when he absorbed the South Kaioshin. Even the anime shows Pure Boo absorbing S. Kaioshin & turning into the huge Boo.Zantetsuken wrote:Again, where in the media does it mention this South Kaioshinn Buu. He doesn't exist.
I've watched the anime, I've read (own) the manga, I've seen the media - He's not even a playable character in the games. It's a stupid fan theory that people use to justify whatever conclusion they want.
Pure Boo was the worst Boo because he is uncontrollable. None of the other Boos destroyed Earth, and he did it seconds after he appeared. We know that the final Buu was stronger or more threatening than the rest - he's said to power up and NEVER ONCE did it mention his power go down. SHOW me a statement that says otherwise.
We KNOW that he's dangerous - Vegeta becomes arrogant and Goku agrees, while the Kaioshinn foreshadows he's one of the worst Buus (while implying again) that his power has actually increased.
FYI, Porta was recommend as a way to beat him - even more so than SuperBuu. So there goes that theory.
And explain me this: Goku says that he & Vegeta don't stand a chance against Evil Boo, yet they believe that with SS3, Goku can beat Pure Boo. Explain me how Pure Boo & SS3 Goku are stronger than Evil Boo.

Re: Battle of Gods bio for Gohan
The Old Kaioshin specifically mentions that he is a different Buu after absorbing South Kaioshin.
Seeing as Super Buu didn't exist when South Kaioshin was absorbed, he's obviously talking about Pure Buu becoming a different Buu. Dai Kaioshin hasn't been absorbed yet, so the only two Buu's that have been seen by Kaioshin at the point his story had taken place were Pure Buu and Buff Buu.Chapter: 508 (DBZ 314), P4.3-4
Context: Kaioshin explains Boo's history
Kaioshin: “…First, two [Kaioshins] were killed…the North Kaioshin and the West Kaioshin….And then the South Kaioshin, the burliest and strongest one, was…somehow absorbed by Boo…..”
Elder Kaioshin: …And he become that huge Boo from before?“
Kaioshin: “…Yes……”

And Vegeta didn't stand a chance against Fatbuu, so how is he going to help him with Kidbuu?
I honestly don't care enough to even really debate this. I think you're wrong, all the media (movies, Anime, games, etc) point to Goku being the strongest.

No. Goku turned down Potara as a way of fighting Pure Buu after saying again and again that it was the only way to beat Super Buu. Why?FYI, Porta was recommend as a way to beat him - even more so than SuperBuu. So there goes that theory.
Chapter: 509 (DBZ 315), P6.8, P7.1-5
Context: after Kaioshin hands Goku his Potara, but he refuses it
Goku: I’m sorry, especially since things are so dangerous now…But [Boo] ain’t merged anymore either…
Let's review:
Super Buu: "WE NEED TO FUSE RIGHT NOW!"
Chapter: 507 (DBZ 313), P2.4-5
Context: after evil Boo appears inside his own body
Vegeta: “Da…damn it…! Th-this could be bad…”
Goku: “Di-didn’t I tell your to wear your Potara?! Th-this is why! If we could just go outside and merge, then this kind of guy would be an easy victory!”
Kid Buu: "we don't need to fuse. He's not fused either, it won't even be fair."
This should count, even more so than the others, as a definitive statement that Buu is weaker now.
We have a definite CODE PINK here.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Actually, me and another member have been through this with you. Instead of just accepting that your wrong, you insist on warping the story and statements to prove your "point." Again - ALL of the media indicates that Goku is stronger, Goku and Vegata both admit that not only is Buu stronger than they imagined, Goku is too. And Vegata SAW SSJ3 Goku before, as well as all the previous forms of Buu. We See both Kai's foreshadow that kiddBuu will be one of the most fierce forms (if not the most) of Buu. What is their to argure?DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Why are you avoiding my questions then? You keep saying that I'm wrong, but you don't say why. Goku said that he couldn't beat Fatbuu? Was that true? Well according to Goku, no.
Goku said that Gotenks would be stronger than him, was that true? No. The anime confirms this, as does the guidebooks.
Goku said that he could beat SuperBuu, was that true? Apparently not. I'm in the camp that believes that he was considering him limited size. If that weren't the case, why would he want to PERMANATELY FUSE with Vegeta when Gohan could wake up and save tha day? Why did he later attempt to fight buu in his own body?
And why did the Kia's state that Goku should fuse to fight Kidbuu, why were they afraid of a supposedly Weaker Buu?

Well, yeah. But at least Goku actually stated otherwise.Zantetsuken wrote:Goku said that he couldn't beat Fatbuu? Was that true? Well according to Goku, no.
Not really. He mainly focuses on the fusion being strong enough to defeat Boo. He tells Piccolo that he told Boo that someone stronger than him would appear to excite him, but it was never actually stated. Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, however, is stronger than Goku if he's weaker than Super Boo.Goku said that Gotenks would be stronger than him, was that true? No. The anime confirms this, as does the guidebooks.
If it's totally based on size, why did Goku bother mentioning Super Boo is stronger? Also, if Goku was really considering his diminished size, why did he think he had enough power to blast through Boo in Super Saiyan? Power was obviously a factor, or there'd be no point to him showing excitement after weakening Boo as much as they did. Merging with Super Boo was their only option in fighting him. Yeah, they could try to wait for Gohan to fight Super Boo, but they weren't exactly in a position to be waiting.Goku said that he could beat SuperBuu, was that true? Apparently not. Because they wanted Goku to use the most efficient plan to destroy Boo. Kaioshin was always shown to be cautious during the story. And why did the Kia's state that Goku should fuse to fight Kidbuu, why were they afraid of a supposedly Weaker Buu?

Yeah the last two (especially the last one) I don't agree with. Kai fusion wasn't an option for the first 2 forms of Buu, but suddenly a weaker form appears and they offer it up? Goku also seemed genuinely suprised to return to full size. I don't think he regarded it as something that would happen right away.
Re: Battle of Gods bio for Gohan
My problem still stems from Goku being a sadist when people lowball Gotenks.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Re: Battle of Gods bio for Gohan
My problem stems from it making no cohesive sense, being full of holes, and having nothing in the manga even hinted at it. The Boo arc can be pretty spotty but there is a big difference in the few hiccups you run into with Gohan, Gotenks and Evil Boo being stronger than Goku and Pure Boo and the mental gymnastics that are required to navigate past the holes and contradictions caused by believing Goku and Pure Boo are stronger. Most arguments I see for this are starting from the conclusion and then trying to find the evidence to support it, which is the wrong way to go about it.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Goku seems to be more powerful than Gohan during their respective fights in Battle of the Gods. Goku is basically the leader of the gang, and seems to be seen as the most powerful.

You still haven't disproved my "point".Zantetsuken wrote:Actually, me and another member have been through this with you. Instead of just accepting that your wrong, you insist on warping the story and statements to prove your "point."
Goku admitted that he was lying there, and he had a reason to do so as well. But he didn't have any reason to lie about Evil Boo.Goku said that he couldn't beat Fatbuu? Was that true? Well according to Goku, no.
The guidebooks place base Gotenks after RoSaT above SS2 Vegeta & Goku... And again, the anime makes many contradictions, and this is one of them.Goku said that Gotenks would be stronger than him, was that true? No. The anime confirms this, as does the guidebooks.
But Goku says that they are doomed if they go outside without merging. Size is only a problem inside, not outside.Goku said that he could beat SuperBuu, was that true? Apparently not. I'm in the camp that believes that he was considering him limited size.
Gohan was unconscious. If Goku could beat Boo, why would he want to permanently merge with Vegeta? If that weren't the case, why would he want to PERMANATELY FUSE with Vegeta when Gohan could wake up and save tha day? Why did he later attempt to fight buu in his own body?
Because Kaioshin doesn't know if SS3 Goku could beat him, and since this Boo is the most dangerous one, since he doesn't have any intelligence and enjoys to destroy things, using the Potara would be the most safe way.And why did the Kia's state that Goku should fuse to fight Kidbuu, why were they afraid of a supposedly Weaker Buu?

Re: Battle of Gods bio for Gohan
Are you referring to Fat Boo and Super Boo? They weren't aware of the Potara fusion at that point. Gohan's incredible power-up was the only thing they thought was necessary to handle Boo, but once it became clear that he had no chance against Gotenks Boo, old Kaioshin told Goku about the power of the Potara.Zantetsuken wrote: Yeah the last two (especially the last one) I don't agree with. I mean, Kid Boo just blew up the earth in a matter of seconds, so it makes sense for them to tell Goku and Vegeta to merge and destroy him quickly.
He seemed more focused on the absorbed warriors returning to normal, at least from what I can remember.Goku also seemed genuinely suprised to return to full size. I don't think he regarded it as something that would happen right away.

They didn't learn about the Potara until Gohan started getting beaten by Gotenks Boo. Only Rou Kaioshin knew about them.Zantetsuken wrote:Yeah the last two (especially the last one) I don't agree with. Goku said that they couldn't defeat Boo because they are not merged not because they are small. Goku never implied that the size was a problem, he hadn't even realized that they had gotten weaker until later, which they learned from Boo. And since they got smaller when they got in, it's obvious that they would get bigger when they'll get out.Zantetsuken wrote:Goku also seemed genuinely suprised to return to full size. Re: Battle of Gods bio for Gohan
I don't know why I bother to have these conversations, we always end up going in circles.
Goku tells Vegeta that if they leave Buu "like this" they are sure they are talking about being unfused and reduced in size. This point is further reiterated when Buu points it out to Goku that even his Ki attacks aren't enough to damage him at this size.
The Kai’s consider this Buu the most “dangerous one”, with the reasoning of him being evil AND more powerful.
No power decrease is noted – but we do see Kaoshinn warning that this buu is stronger than before THEN we see Goku and Vegeta mocking his size. (it’s called foreshadowing)
We see Kaioshinn offer the fusion as a viable option for Gotenks Buu, Gohan Buu and KidBuu. Even when they broke the earrings, the extra set wasn’t offered as an option UNTIL Kid buu appeared. Meaning even the Kai’s didn’t believe it was needed for Super Buu.
Fast-forward towards Goku’s SSJ3 which we haven’t seen since Gotenks Buu, and we have Vegeta gushing at how powerful Goku really is.
“no one but you can beat him”
“Buu is stronger than I imagined”
“And So are you” (meaning Goku must have been more powerful than even his first appearance.
Even the Anime goes by this logic. But you guys know something the editors don't, I don't even know why anyone else is allowed to post.

Goku specifically says that the only way to beat Evil Boo is to go outside & use Fusion or Potara. Outside, the size wouldn't be a problem.Zantetsuken wrote:Goku tells Vegeta that if they leave Buu "like this" they are sure they are talking about being unfused and reduced in size.
But Goku wasn't aware of that until Boo brought up that point. And Goku said that they can't beat him before they met Boo inside.Zantetsuken wrote:This point is further reiterated when Buu points it out to Goku that even his Ki attacks aren't enough to damage him at this size.
When did they say that he was the most powerful in the manga?Zantetsuken wrote:The Kai’s consider this Buu the most “dangerous one”, with the reasoning of him being evil AND more powerful.
The fact that Goku & Vegeta were scared when he turned huge and stronger, but then they were happy when he got smaller implies a power decrease.Zantetsuken wrote:No power decrease is noted – but we do see Kaoshinn warning that this buu is stronger than before THEN we see Goku and Vegeta mocking his size. The Potara were only a choice for Gotenks, Gohan, and Pure Boo, because they were the only Boos they fought after the Potara's abilities were revealed. Only Rou Kaioshin knew about them, and he revealed them when Gotenks Boo was around. After Gohan Boo, Goku & Vegeta only encountered Evil Boo inside him, and Goku did blame Vegeta for breaking the Potara. The Kaioshin didn't offer the Potara to Goku & Vegeta, because they couldn't meet them inside Boo. When they got outside, Boo was already transforming, and finally turned into Pure Boo. Kaioshin suggested Goku to use the Potara (and Kaioshin didn't know Goku's full power at that point), but Goku was confident that he could beat this Boo on his own, unlike Evil Boo, who was too strong for him & Vegeta to handle, unless they were to merge.Zantetsuken wrote:We see Kaioshinn offer the fusion as a viable option for Gotenks Buu, Gohan Buu and KidBuu. Even when they broke the earrings, the extra set wasn’t offered as an option UNTIL Kid buu appeared. Meaning even the Kai’s didn’t believe it was needed for Super Buu.
Goku is the only one that can beat him, because Gohan & Gotenks are dead, and Vegeta is too weak. Yes, they really did underestimated Boo (I never said they didn't), but Goku was confident from the beginning to the end that he could beat Pure Boo on his own, while he said twice that the only way to beat Evil Boo was to go outside & merge with Fusion or Potara.Zantetsuken wrote:Fast-forward towards Goku’s SSJ3 which we haven’t seen since Gotenks Buu, and we have Vegeta gushing at how powerful Goku really is.

The anime has Mutaito stronger than Goku (Daimao arc), while Piccolo Daimao was stronger than Mutaito, and Goku was stronger than Piccolo Daimao, Mr. Popo is stronger than SS Goten & SS Trunks, even SS Gohan & SS Vegeta, and in GT, Oozaru Vegeta > SS4 Goku = SS4 Vegeta > Golden Oozaru Vegeta > SS2 Vegeta > SS Vegeta > Oozaru Vegeta...Zantetsuken wrote:Even the Anime goes by this logic. But even if you want to follow the anime, which puts Pure Boo above Gohan Boo, and SS3 Goku on par with him, the anime & the manga are two similar, yet different stories. What is stated in the anime isn't a fact in the manga.

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Re: Battle of Gods bio for Gohan
1) The "like this" could very well, and is, based on what form of Buu he was at the time. Goku's statements about Buu while they're inside is body is that he's a lot weaker now than he was before, due to them ripping out Gohan and the others, and that they're "almost there" in terms of weakening him to a point where they can do something about him. Vegeta says they should leave, and Goku's response is that they can't beat him with him like this, and that they need to continue on to weaken him to how he originally was (the Fat Buu). Later, after Goku and Vegeta watch Buu finally revert to Pure Buu, Goku exclaims that "they did it", confirming that they've completed what they were trying to do beforehand, which was weakening him to a point where they could manage something.Zantetsuken wrote:I don't know why I bother to have these conversations, we always end up going in circles.

Fast-forward towards Goku’s SSJ3 which we haven’t seen since Gotenks Buu, and we have Vegeta gushing at how powerful Goku really is.

Even the Anime goes by this logic. But you guys know something the editors don't, I don't even know why anyone else is allowed to post.
Considering he was wanting to use the Potaras to destroy Evil Buu, he's clearly talking about using them while outside, since he knows that they don't work inside Buu. Likewise, since you're going by what is stated in the anime (and not just the manga), Goku clearly makes the statement that they'll regain their size upon leaving his body, so he's basically saying that even though they'll have their bodies back to their original size (thus original strength), he still thinks they need to fuse in order to win.
2) Given the whole context of Kaioushin's dialogue about Buu right before he makes the comment about Buu being the most dangerous one, all that he is saying is that he's pure evil, with no control or restraint. The statement has nothing to do with his strength whatsoever.
3) Kaioushin doesn't say that this Buu is stronger than before, and a significant power decrease is indicated by the dialogue. Vegeta's comment is obviously about his physical size, but Goku is not one to base his judgment of a fighter's capabilities by their physical appearance. Likewise, his comment about Buu relates to what he was saying earlier in regards to weakening Evil Buu to a more manageable strength (see #1 for that).
4) When was there a chance for it to be offered to them for normal Evil Buu? Rou Kaioushin was confident in Gohan's ability to defeat Evil Buu with his new power, and the Potaras were only revealed after Buu had absorbed Gotenks. The only time after the Potaras were introduced that normal Evil Buu existed, but Gohan or Gotenks weren't in the picture, was with Goku and Vegeta inside his body, and we saw how Goku felt about the Potaras when he and Vegeta were facing the option of fighting Evil Buu outside.
5) There's no indication that Vegeta saw Goku's few seconds as a Super Saiya-jin 3 when preparing to defend himself against Gotenks Buu. He saw Goku during his fight with Fat Buu, which we know he was holding back for, so his fight with Pure Buu would be the first time that Vegeta would get a chance to see Ssj3 Goku at its best. As for the statement about only Goku being able to beat him, that's not really saying much given that Vegeta is the only other fighter around at the time. Gohan, Goten, and Trunks are dead, and no plan has been brought up yet to resurrect them with Namek's dragonballs, so the only two fighters available are he and Goku. As such, "Only you can beat him" is simply saying that he (Vegeta) stands no chance.
