I always wondered what elder Kaioshin meant when saying that Goku and Vegeta were Two of the top 3 masters in both the living world and afterlife who was the 3rd master? I've read some people say that he was referring to Gohan but I wouldn't really consider him to be a master he just has a hell of a lot of natural talent. So who was the 3rd master that elder Kaioshin was referring too?sekzee wrote:He makes a distinction between the two.Chapter: 504 (DBZ 310), P9.2-3

Elder Kaioshin: “Idiot, it’s because it was those two that they were able to go so far. Two of the top 3 masters in both the living world and afterlife have merged, after all. What’s more, two rivals have joined together. That’s definitely strongest.”

Beerus? I mean he didn't appear yet...not even thought of at the point. But In-universe it makes sense. Since Whis was mostly unknown in terms of power. But I guess "master" is just "Power". So perhaps Gohan was the other one.qjz123 wrote:I always wondered what elder Kaioshin meant when saying that Goku and Vegeta were Two of the top 3 masters in both the living world and afterlife who was the 3rd master? If you include Gohan, then you sorta need to include Gotenks...
...which would leave Buu as the third...

Gohan has spent years of hard training with Piccolo & Goku, and he has a lot of experience in his life-time, plus he is extremely strong, so I don't see how that wouldn't make him a master.qjz123 wrote:I've read some people say that he was referring to Gohan but I wouldn't really consider him to be a master he just has a hell of a lot of natural talent.
It doesn't. Rou Kaioshin shouldn't know who the Hakaishin is at that point, since he was just released. Except if you believe that Beerus was the Hakaishin before Rou Kaioshin was sealed... which I find extremely unlikely.TheGmGoken wrote:Beerus? James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
