The thing is, with Dr. Slump it just seems to fit. Considering their world is crazy enough as is, I think it was funny Peasuke missing uh.."Little Peasuke."

However, with Dragon Ball, it just doesn't seem to fit.

As for Gohan, it seems like even with the Viz logo, he was neutered. The comic book version shows his frontal untouched. However the graphic novel version shows it edited. I wonder if the original graphic novel version released in the US (you know, the bigger ones that costed more) were left untouched as well.

Wouldn't be the first time Viz edited something they kept in comic book format. Electric Tale of Pikachu has a ton of women with rather large breasts. The character May (not related to the one from the anime or video games) was often thought of by Satoshi/Ash. In the comic, we can see she has pretty much a rather big chest. However when the graphic novel version was released, she had been flattened.

I'm guessing May's breast reduction had something to do with 4Kids...There's a site called 'Pokemon Uncensored' or something like that that shows all the changes done to the Electric Tale of Pikachu.

:P Back on topic, I think Viz has akways edited the Z graphic novels, but never touched DB until now.
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.

With the exception of Mr. Popo's lips, I think Dragonball Z was untouched by Viz until the Cell Saga.

Yeah. I remember 4Kids editing Rouge's breasts to nothing in Sonic X....-_-

But wait...they edited Mr.Popo's lips? Now THAT's a weird edit......

I heard with the Pokemon books that was because some parents got pissed off and bitched about it.

Upon reading those, I have realised that I officially hate, *checks name* Carole Boston Weatherford.

I think that before someone writes articles on issues like these they should first realise that these instances of "racism" are from another culture and are probably not seen as such there. I doubt there are articles written in Japan about international cases of things like "Akira" from the Simpsons... I'll bet she's a "soccer-mom" :P

EDIT: So, I just realised that Carole Boston Weatherford is black. Not sure what that changes but when I typed the above I figured it was just someone being annoying for it's own sake. I can understand it if someone actually took offence to it...

So does Viz edit any Shonen Jump manga other than DBZ and Dr. Slump?

I'm really not sure, though I believe that they may edit Naruto...

With Assistant Black, his lips are just full and the same color as his skin. It's similar to Green Lantern, Static and other African American characters in the DCAU.

When I told people about that article and the Jynx thing, all my black friends said the same thing, "What kind of crack is that bitch smoking?"

It depends on what kind of edits you're talking about. In some manga they flipped the pages (such as in Inuyasha), and they also made some other pointless changes along the way. But if it's censorship you're talking about, I'm not really sure.

Guys, should I rebuy DB Vol.4 since it has the new Logo?

Vol. 4...Let's see...After looking at the older version, the only thing I see that they'd edit was Goku's...erm...weenie when he showed everyone his tail, then pulled his pants back up. So if you're in dire need of seeing a twelve year-old's penis, then I suggest picking it up.

Anyway, that's all that I saw that would've been edited. Ran-Fan's already wearing a bra and a pair of panties...

LOL, ok thanks. Considering that I am not gay, I do not need to see Goku's penis. So I'll stick with my current Vol.4.

Dragon Ball Z Vol. 2 has a circumcized Gohan. :P And the Ginyu Special Corps play "Roshambo" rather than Janken. >_>;

As far as I've heard, Bleach, Rurouni Kenshin and Beet the Vandal Buster are left untouched.

Despite that one ep of South Park, some people do call Rock Paper Scissors "Roshambo".

You know that Roshambo is another name for "Rock paper scissors", right?
Where's the beef?

No, not circumsized, castraited. If you need a definition of the differences of the two...

It's spelled "castrated". Last I checked, there was no body of water involved. :P

Sorry, I really don't type the word a lot, so I really can't spell it! Thanks for pointing it out, Jerseymilk!
