Why can't they do more with these games?

what's to stop you from spamming ultimate jutsus in ninja storm 3

Well there's no cover for starters which means you can't hide behind something because you can easily get hit by other attacks or kunai. Chakra rushs mean characters can get over to you and pummel you and substitutions can easily dodge them.
Wait, you mean to tell me, that when the game portrays the map exactly like the anime (Rocky area), it's a bad thing?

No of course not, what's bad is that they keep having all these same areas, Wasteland, Rocky Area, Namek, Kaioshin planet etc that are all similar kinds of environments and they don't include new locations that haven't been done before and are more than just grass and rocks like Heaven to offset it.

It means were getting the same areas game after game that mostly all look the same.
Yeah Kunai (ki blasts)which you can easily cancel out with a chakra dash (that ki dash thing you can do if you double tap the button) and substitutions (you can also avoid people's attacks through afterimage or timing the dodge button to get out of a combo just like storm 3)
And FYI getting to a far enough distance will make the jutsu run out before it can get to you (so you can easily camp far enough and if you're using sasuke you can trap with susanoo ultimate)
And there are a couple of cover points you can use on certain maps in storm 3

I wanted a DBZ game similar to konquest mode since 2004. IW seem like that they try to do that, but the one in Mortal Kombat: Deception was very long and had a lot of reply value to it. The game felt very open and you can do a lot of stuff in it. I do like to see more what if stories and more original stories. Sadly most what if stories are awful and the original stories we get in DBZ games feel like bad fan fiction written by a 10 year old.

They should get Toriyama involved with the games. He's not exactly doing much now so surely he give some story concepts and some designs for them to use.

They could have had clashes though.
What about removing a combo, the customized jutsus and ultimate jutsus that the PS2 games had, why didn't they add them to the Storm series? Kirin Sasuke didn't have to be his own character.

For PS2 Naruto games, there were stuff to master, like learning other character's jutsus and unlocking secret characters. In most DBZ games, even half the current ones, there's the World Tournament, there are other game modes like team battles, and there are challenging modes. What did the Storm 2, Gen, and 3 have, NOTHING! Just a story mode, free battle, and survival, while the PS2 Naruto games had more game modes. Though I give CC2 credit for putting the Ninja Timeline in Storm 3, but my point still stands.

Granted, the Storm series have better source material than any of the current DBZ games. However, at least the PS2 Ultimate Ninja games had more depth in the battle system, more combos, more jutsus, and more ultimate jutsus. And that's something I give the current DBZ games credit for(Raging Blast series).

As I said again, all you do in Storm is press circle. Storm is great at being a anime simulator, while the PS2 games and Clash of Ninja are better in the gameplay department.
