I have the memory of Toriyama, and I don't have any dvds on me right now to check, but I'm sure she didn't say anything about loving Gohan at the time in the Japanese version, I'm pretty sure it was added for dramatic effect, can you tell me what episode number this is? I could check later, or someone else could for me.Valerius Dover wrote:

Decided to load up a streaming site quickly, and yup as I expected she doesn't say anything about loving him, she just says "I won't have...such a thing", she seems pretty devastated though, so take that as you will.Valerius Dover wrote:^It's Episode 241 that the scene in question occurs in.

I like how everyone still thinks lard bucket's blast killed Gohan even after they wish back everyone killed by Vegeta, Babidi, and Buu.

Now I've seen up until Babidi's death, which means I've surpassed the point where Kai is right now. Don't have as much to note this time, just a few things.
-Super Saiyan 3 scene and the song that goes with it are just as legendary as I've heard they are.
-Babidi flipping the bird and saying "Shove It" was hilarious!
-That mother of those two southern-accented fighters.....even Babidi couldn't stand her.
-After doing a Google Search, I realized there is not even a single picture of the awesome cake lady online. I was considering changing my avatar to that.

Re: Watching the Buu arc
And triple post.
Just finished the Majin Buu Saga, and it's another cliffhangar. Well, where do I start?
-It seems both Gohan and Gotenks are getting a lot of buildup to save the universe. Like that's gonna happen.
-Now Gohan has admitted to his father that Videl IS his girlfriend. I get the feeling he was yelling out of impulse, but Goku gave no reaction, most likely because he could see something all along. Apparently, I'm just not very good at seeing these things. My younger brothers who I've been watching the entire franchise with both said it was really obvious.
-Mr. Satan's persuasion worked better than expected. Also, of note, he has not been called by his first name for a while now. Not since the tournament ended.
-Van Zant and Smitty are assholes. That puppy.....

He doesn't have a first name or a last name. He just has one name: Mark. Same with his daughter and most other people on DB Earth.-Mr. Satan's persuasion worked better than expected. Also, of note, he has not been called by his first name for a while now. Not since the tournament ended.

^I mean that I already know that Goku is the one who saves the universe later. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
In regards to Mr. Satan's name, I am referring to the name "Hercule" which is referred to as being his first name in the English dub. This only applies to the dub and obviously doesn't apply to the original or any other version.
During the Cell Games and up until the end of the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, he is referred to by both first and last names interchangeably. I'll point it out if "Hercule" ever pops up in Season 9.
Also, forgot to mention, but the thought of Master Roshi fusing with Maron is hilarious. Krillin seemed pretty chill about his ex being brought up, though.

I've already run into one major idiot ball moment, though. Why not use Instant Transmission to get Trunks to Capsule Corp? Then again, he IS a dead guy. Not for long, though. I now know he gets revived at some point in Season 9, but I have no idea when. Guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Re: Watching the Buu arc
Now I've started Season 9 with the Fusion Saga, and have gotten up to the point where Gotenks is going to have his re-match with Majin Buu in the Time Chamber. A few notes.
-The puppy gets a name, Bee. BuuBee, anyone?
-Majin Buu's bad form only got two lines, but we can already ascertain he has better grammar.
-The bad Buu went after Van Zant almost immediately, but left Smitty alone until after absorbing the original Buu. Ironically, the latter's death was far more gruesome.
-Seeing Tien and Chiaotzu survive the Human Extinction Attack makes me wonder who else survived.
-Chi-Chi is dead and nobody but Goten seems to care.

No seriously though, no one thought twice. That's kinda weird. Even Videl who's constantly surprised at everything was just like "eh". Strange.

Re: Watching the Buu arc
And now they're all dead. Everyone at Kami's is dead and Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks is about to fight Majin Buu.
-Already knew this was coming, but holy crap everybody's dead within a minute. The only ones actually shown were Krillin, 18, Marron, and also the shadows of Yamcha and Puar. This is the first death for a lot of the characters here.
-Piccolo is understandably pissed when Gotenks is acting so careless. Geez, now I know what everyone was talking about. I guess that's kind of the point, though. The fusion makes him cocky to the extreme. Piccolo's major facepalm is just awesome.
-Buu's eyes have turned red for some reason.
-Piccolo mentions the lookout being ruined....again. I just love little references like this.

Re: Watching the Buu arc
Seen some more episodes. I'm at the point where Buu has just returned to fight Gohan and the boys with a trick up his sleeve. I only have one note to make here.
-"So, hotshot, you want to fight Majin Buu?"
-"Fight you? No, I wanna kill you."
-Gohan's badass oneliner above. If I could choose one line that would be the same script-wise in The Final Chapters, it'd be this one.

Re: Watching the Buu arc
And do I hear triple post? Well, I have now reached the point where Vegito makes his debut. Some notes.
-Majin Buu's newfound intelligence and sophisticated speech really make him a great villain. He also uses psychological techniques unrivaled by any previous villain.
-Gohan spent over 25 hours unlocking his new strength only to get beaten to a pulp within a few episodes. This seems to have completely broken his confidence.
-Goku's speech to Vegeta about the Saiyan race gives the upcoming battle a very climactic feel.
-Tien, where have you been? And where'd you leave Chiaotzu?
-Supreme Kai and Kibito have fused together for no apparent reason. Old Kai neglecting to tell them is kind of a dick move.
-Likewise, Goku seems pretty ok with more or less potentially tricking Gohan and Mr. Satan into a permanent life decision.
-He tells Vegeta BEFORE HE PUTS THE EARRING ON. One of the dumbest scenes ever. Lucky for him, Vegeta still goes through with it after giving Goku a minor scold.
-Goku gets a hilarious derp face in one shot.

Re: Watching the Buu arc
Word! Kibitokai being an accident is hilarious. Old Kai laying in the cut while those two foolishly become reallybest buds for life.
That Goku speech to Vegeta was dub only, but I really liked it. I felt it added some closure and character development for Vegeta. Kinda tells us, who's side he's on because it's still hard to tell at times.
Tenshinhan gets healed... then I guess he had to do whatever Tenshinhans do. No where to be found.
Goku taking the fused for life thing really lightly is just like him. "Oh yeah, we'd be fused forever. NBD." Vegeta's response is hilarious too.

Buu really didn't get any smarter, just a bit more eloquent. He was always that intelligent. The "psychological techniques" are dub-only BTW, though I like Buu's remarks there better than in the original.Majin Buu's newfound intelligence and sophisticated speech really make him a great villain. I don't think they were dub only, the dub just spells it out more.
