Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Yeah it's as simple as that. Who really cares if that's someone's opinion. I've seen tons of opinions that DBZ is a piece of shit, and that's really all I need to hear. They don't like it, whatever. Only people I see taking offense are those who are so attached to DBZ they just can't accept it failed to entertain someone. They just need to know why and sometimes even then they won't accept the reason.
You post would only make sense if I was criticizing people for saying that they don't like DBM or Dragon Ball. I'm not.
I'm not attacking people's opinions, and I've already made that pretty clear... I'm merely criticizing the way people speak, not their opinion. There's a clear difference. And people point things out in how other people speak all the time because they don't really appreciate certain things in how they speak, whether it's their tone, their expressions, their grammar, their accuracy or any other factor, so I'm not sure why you don't get that, but I also don't particularly care if you get it, so whatever.

As for the topic, Who wants to be a Superhero?, Dragon Ball New Age, and Dragon Ball Multiverse. GTR is good but I don't see it as a series because it's not something new, it's a remake. I can see it as a successful remake of DBGT, though.

No you clearly are having an issue with people disliking the property and exaggerating their claims. Hence getting all butthurt about the "anything but DBM" stuff. All I and a few others see is a hissy fit. Getting all worked up over an exaggeration on a fan project.
But by all means get all worked up over "how people speak" when it's really no big deal.

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

You are only half-right. I don't appreciative obviously exaggerated claims, like I said.
"Anything but DBM" is an obviously exaggerated claim. I pointed it out. Just like I don't really appreciate your "butthurt" remark and general tone.

No big deal is someone pointing something out in how some other person spoke, with no actual ill intent.
A slightly bigger deal is someone getting so worked up about someone pointing something out in how some other person spoke, that they resort to claiming that that person is "butthurt" and having a "issy fit" and that other people agree with that statement, which probably has some ill intent.

Well I'm sorry but it entirely comes off as butt hurt. Your points would not even effect their opinion anyways as their final conclusion is they don't like it. It's called a hyperbole, they are everywhere, deal with it. If they're missing out, tough shit. Everyone uses Hyperbole's as they are meant to be exaggerated.

Like I said, people point things out in how other people speak all the time because they don't really appreciate certain things in how they speak, whether it's their tone, their expressions, their grammar, their accuracy or any other factor.
So, following your logic, why should I be the one to "deal with it" instead of you dealing with the fact that people point things like this out all the time?
Do you go around telling people that point out grammar mistakes "deal with it, everybody constantly does grammar mistakes"? Or people that point out that they don't appreciate a certain tone "deal with with it, everybody constantly uses unpleasant tones"?
How is that any better that pointing out that stuff? At least people pointing it out have a valid purpose...

You don't appreciate it cause it's something you like. This isn't even a place to discuss such matters, and yet you bring it up anyways instead of just letting it go. Also yeah I do tell people to deal with it over some issues. Here grammar is important and is a rule, so of course it's important. If someone is just talking and making grammar mistakes, who cares? I don't. No it's not that you don't appreciate how they speak, it's that you don't like them talking shit about something you like. They could exaggerate all they want I bet if it's on something you don't know or particularly care about. You'd have a point if they were talking shit about you, but instead it's on something you like which they are free to do. It's a hyperbole on a stupid fancomic, who the hell cares?

No, I don't appreciate it because the person doesn't even think that and instead of being honest and fair he chooses to sacrifice his fairness and honestly for some exaggerated claims that don't help anyone and aren't informative.

How is that a grammar mistake? He was just pointing out that people exaggerate. People even more so on the internet exaggerate a lot when trying to convey how they feel about a certain something. Nothing wrong with it. People aren't robots.
I ask thou, WHY MUST IT BE ME? Your weakness is your strength.
Are you reading this? If you are, I just want to let you know that I'm a GREAT GUY.

On something you like. This isn't even the DBM thread. No shit it ain't gonna help anyone nor hurt anyone as this is just a suggestion thread for what fan fiction could be a good series, not a suggestion of what's a good read and what isn't. I highly doubt you'd be up in arms if it was about something you didn't know or hardly cared about.
I'm a co-writer and people can talk shit about what I take part in all they want. They can exaggerate or be genuine, it's their call. I don't really care. Having a few people exaggerate isn't going to sully anything.

You are simply not hearing me. For example, I think that the Transformer movies and the Twilight movies are pretty bad and I've talked to people about them and people have talked about them with me, but my dislike for them hasn't stop me from pointing out to the person who I'm talking to when she or he is obviously exaggerating.
I try to be honest and fair when I'm talking about stuff, whether it's something I like or dislike, so I appreciate it when others do the same to me and point it out when I think they aren't doing that. It's that simple.
You have simply convinced yourself that I somehow have an agenda and that I only point it out because I'm secretly defending what I like, no matter what I say...
If it doesn't bother you when people aren't honest and fair when they talk about stuff and they just resort to exaggerations, that's fine. But since I like that and try to do it the best that I can, I appreciate it when others also do it.

Nah, that's part of it. The other part is no one cares and you're taking this way too damn seriously. Hell I only care cause of how ludicrous and dumb this whole thing is. Like it's some big offense to hyperbole points on the internet. Man that never happens. Your not gonna get answers anyways cause they merely exaggerated, and don't give a crap to discuss this further, in a thread that has nothing to do with criticism. They are hyperbole's, no one fucking cares. Any idiot can see they're hyperbole's and no one gives a rat's ass about being fair. They aren't reviewers and they certainly aren't going out of there way to discuss shit about a comic they don't like.

Merely pointing it out is taking it too "damn seriously"? Ok. If you say so.
Just so you know, all I did in this topic was, literally, point out an obvious exaggeration, state which fan mangas could make good series (imo), and respond to the posts that your directed towards me explaining my thoughts.
Since your posts from the start had you stating or implying that I'm "butthurt" and several other similar things, and in response I've just calmly explained to you my thoughts on the subject, I would say that if anyone is taking it too seriously is you.

Sorry honey. Mommy and daddy are going on such a stupid topic that's ludicrous to daddy. But it's ok Sonny Jim. I already put a word in to the neighbourhood watch to put a stop to the ludicrously pointless off topic bull crap to an end.

Nope. I'm the one who doesn't give a rats ass if people exaggerate. You took it seriously for the most ridiculous of stupid reasons. It's not "honest and fair"? Give me a fuckin break. The only serious feeling I got, is how genuinely ridiculous this whole topic is. They exaggerate and it's some crime . Seriously it's hyperbole, they are never meant to be accurate or fair. They are to accentuate feelings towards something.

dbzfan7, your tone and behavior towards me is kind of unacceptable...
I've been patient, civil and treated you with respect while I've calmly explained my thoughts, and in return you've stated me to be butt-hurt, stupid, having a issy fit, used a mocking tone, been unpleasant, irritating and overall been a pretty poor example of a user...
Given such attitude, I'm not surprised that you really don't care at all if people are honest and fair when they talk about stuff and that you are surprised that some people actually appreciate such things. And that pretty much summarizes out discussion and concludes it... Bye.

Patient and civil...yet have a problem with exaggeration in a place where DBM isn't even the center topic. Anyone who has a problem with hyperbole's really needs to lighten up.
It was a topic so dumb and pointless, it was beneath both of them to even bother answering. In fact it gives me a whole new perspective on the matter, and future endeavors entirely.

Does every thread really have to turn into a giant debate that basically boils down to 'I'm right' 'no you aren't, I am' nowadays?
On a more positive note, I can't believe I completely forgot about 'Who Wants To Be A Superhero', though maybe that's because I was mostly thinking about fan fiction rather than fan comics. I'd totally be down for a special animating that comic though - though I wish it'd get finished already too, heh.
Thinking along the line of comics, I'd also love to see something made from the old 'Little Saiyalings' comic.
