Alright, here's mine. Between work and other responsibilities, I was pretty pressed on time. I literally had to work on part of this through my phone while in the waiting room at the dentist's office! Hope you all like it!

Note: I added bits and pieces from a practice story that I had written in another post.

That was good, SSJ God Gogeta! I'm glad you made it about a character that really hasn't gotten a lot of attention. Good job!

Your story was great, supercat! It was a fantastic look into Vegeta's mind. Wonderfully written! Good Job!

I'm really looking forward to reading everyone else's! :)

I like the idea I came up with here, but I think I'd like to write a longer version in the future. For now, though, I had a deadline to meet and a word limit to stick to, so here it is, as it is. I hope you guys like it.
This will never not be my sig:
VegettoEX wrote:"Snoop Lion" is just a character he's playing for his reggae album and documentary. Him saying that it's his new name is all part of the character.

I can't believe this is on-topic.

Ok guys. Time's up! I shall start the QF Thread soon. supercat rushed to meet the deadline and asked me if he could correct a few grammatical mistakes, so I'm gonna wait a bit, of course you guys can check it to. Although it's kinda irrelevant since he's already in the Semi-Finals!
Rocketman and Gyt Kabila failed to deliver their story's.

The Quarter Finals thread is done! Sorry about the delay.

Check it here.

Reminder that the contestants can vote in matches they aren't in.

Apologies for not being able to get mine done. I was really looking forward to participating in this, but I've been dealing with the fun of car troubles for the past week or so, and being irked by how much that's gonna cost to have taken care of.

Hopefully things will work out better if we ever have another one of these. Until then, I guess I'll go read everyone else's stories and get some voting in!

Don't worry about this, it happens. I'm sorry to hear about the car, I hope it wasn't an accident.

Nah, no accident (though I did lightly smack into a deer the other day, but lucked out without any damage), just ignition trying to go out. Gonna be pricey enough though.

Something occurred to me. What if there's a tie? Suggestions for a tie-breaker(s), please...

You could have them both come up with a "tie-breaker" story and have people vote on those...

I think that would be counter productive, as it would stretch the competition even further. It was to be something immediate. Still, thanks for the suggestion if you have more let me know; I really am not coming up with anything worthwhile.

What we could do is preemptively select a few members (or even one) to specifically judge the tie-breakers. With that said, all entries pertaining to a tie break should be limited to a few paragraphs, and contestants submitting such entries should be required to have their projects come to fruition within a day. Thoughts?

I was actually going to suggest that, but ultimately decided against it. I just don't know how fair it would be...

I don't want people to lose because they didn't check the forum for a day.

For this round a coin flip will have to do. In the next few, besides selecting the winner, voters will also chose who best used the theme. If necessary that will be the tie-breaker. Seems acceptable.
I will hear ideas that don't extend the voting round and/or forces people to write even more.

In the case of a tie, why not just let both contestants move on to the next round? If it ends up with an odd number of people, well, we've already had one round that was a freebie. It's all chosen randomly, so it's not unfair to anyone, and the goal of this is to get more stories out.

If a person involved in a tie happens to be a historian and teacher irl, he loses. <3
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Even if winning is secondary this is still a competition, and has to move forward and reach closure. If something unlikely happened like it did with round 4, it could get long...

Bare minimum, this is gonna be a 3 week thing anyway. I don't see the problem in there being an (unlikely ) potential additional round. As for time, maybe 5 days is a little long just for voting? Why not bump that down to 3 next round?

I'm looking out for the future, with the low number of votes it's not that unlikely. Dragging stuff out bores and discourages people.
I firmly stand that there must be a winner and a loser. If there's no stakes -no matter how artificial they are- , people won't write in time and/or put a minimal effort into the story's.
Currently, there's not a match that's had more than 10 votes; which should be a bare minimum. Reducing the voting time won't help.
