Well, of course it has a dbox release, people like to finish their collections, even the parts they don't like.sintzu wrote:If they wanted people to forget about it then they wouldn't be using it in video games and merchandise.Hellspawn28 wrote:Why would they want to remember the dark time of Dragon Ball ?

Everyone said that if Toriyama made it it wouldn't have the problems that it has but now that he's making a sequel and it has those same problems and arguably more if you count the production side of things, fans are accepting that the franchise peaked with the Buu arc and are just going to enjoy the material that came after for what it is regardless of it's flaws.TenshinFan wrote:I love that since the new Super series, GT has been given more serious attention by fans.
I think if you skip certain episodes, GT can be an enjoyable show and I think more fans are beginning to see that.
People won't spend 500$ on something they don't like.Kuririn Fan wrote: Well, of course it has a dbox release, people like to finish their collections, even the parts they don't like.
The reason people bought it is because they liked it.

they are big fans who enjoy DB-DBZ and manga and want to complete their collection, even if it's GT.

There are a good amount of fans who like GT.Kuririn Fan wrote:They are big fans who enjoy DB-DBZ and manga and want to complete their collection, even if it's GT.
You have them here, Youtube and on other sites.
The complete series on Amazon has a 4.5/5 rating from customers.
I know it has problems but do you think it's so bad that literally no one likes it ?

Fans complained that GT was more kid friendly than Z and they're doing the same with Super.
Fans complained about GT not using the non Goku characters and they're doing the same with Super.
Fans complained about the fights in GT not being as big as Z's and they're doing the same with Super.
Fans complained about GT's stories not being as long and detailed as the original's and they're doing the same with Super.

GT is bad, but I don't consider it to be this unholy abomination that so many others believe it to be.
It had great concepts, some good humor, and some decent fights. Even at it's worst, I'd still consider GT to be better than Z at it's worst.

Re: 20th Anniversary of Dragon Ball GT
The character designs in GT are popular. There are some fans that don't like GT (like me) that thinks SSj4 is a cool design on it's own (Just not a good SSj form IMO). Everything will have a fan following (There is people that like Sonic 06, Batman & Robin and Highlander 2). GT did leave us with nothing new for over a decade. I still think they would have done another show or more episodes of GT if things went out better in 1996-1997.sintzu wrote:If they wanted people to forget about it then they wouldn't be using it in video games and merchandise.Hellspawn28 wrote:Why would they want to remember the dark time of Dragon Ball ?

If they started with the Baby arc like what Funimation did, I think GT would've lasted longer and would've had a better reception from fans.Hellspawn28 wrote:I still think they would have done another show or more episodes of GT if things went out better in 1996-1997.
The Baby arc was the best part of GT and that's how I was introduced to it which is why I'm not so negative about it like others are.

Come on. GT was a helluva more Goku centric than super. Your last two claims i have never heard about.sintzu wrote:They're not as bad but they're still there.sangofe wrote:What... do you mean by "those same problems"?

I know but fans are always complaining about how no one other than Goku and Vegeta get to do anything, super has Vegeta so it's not as bad as GT but it's still something it needs to improve moving foreword.sangofe wrote:

Fans always complain about the Super 17 and shadow dragon arcs being rushed.
The fights don't get a lot of hate or at least nothing like Super's ep5 but they still do from time to time.

Baby arc is nothing special, it aired and changed nothing, GT was still cancelled after only 64 episodes because it was bad.

Okay, easy buddy now you're just being a hater lol. Baby was far from trash and the most inventive of the non-manga villains.Kuririn Fan wrote: You're trying too hard to defend the trash.

I think trash is a bit much cause it's not that bad, it has a lot of problems but it also has some good things about it.Kuririn Fan wrote: You're trying too hard to defend the trash.

I don't know if I'd call it special but it's the best arc in GT and was overall good, especially compared to what came before and after it.
Piccolo died at the end and stayed dead so it did change something.
That's unfortunately true.

How it did that is unbelievable.
Nearly killing the franchise and the anime industry? That's very exaggerated.
The 30 anniversary is for all of the Dragon Ball from DB to Super, Z and GT included. So I think 20 anniversary for GT is unnecessary.
Re: 20th Anniversary of Dragon Ball GT
It honestly made me wonder, if half of hate going for GT, is because it is considered side story without Toriyama involvement, save for some chara design? My main problem with it, is waste of some really cool ideas, and that it is too Goku centric, other characters barely do anything. In Shadow Dragons saga you could have Z fighters seperate into teams, and each team beat different Dragon, but no, it is only Goku and Pan to tag along.

Re: 20th Anniversary of Dragon Ball GT
I'd love to see a Kai-style redub of GT but sadly the demand isn't there.
Besides that the only thing I want from GT's 20th anniversary is a Blu-Ray release (preferably a TOEI remaster that Funimation picks up).
