(Bruce Faulconer fanatics has come up the most in this thread, I believe)
But you should know better, YouTube comments are shit that's like putting your hand inside a volcano, and then complaining about not having a hand.

I never really saw this happen here, the examples given were exaggerated. but its common on other sites and its not just fans of the old dub either
Still people are too close minded
To be fair people called him out on it (including Kaboom), but yeah I remember reading that and thinking "what the fuck".

It seems like the DB fandom is the very few fandoms that I see that will defend the English dub so much. While most anime fans will go against the English dub. Even Digimon fans had a good amount of haters for the dub despite having a very popular and nostalgic dub.

Nah, plenty of fandoms have dubs they defend

I seen Naruto, Bleach and One Piece fans that hate the dubs for them and rarely defend them. When I see new dub announcements for new anime on Facebook, I see a lot of people posting comments like "Dubs sucks!". I know subs vs. dubs debates always exist, but I feel like streaming have made it into a bigger debate. Anime fans these days can subs of new anime like a hour right after it airs in Japan. Growing up, I remember we would have to wait for it to come out on home video or air on TV which can be like a year or more.

But what can you do, the dub vs sub fights are kinda what defined this fandom for the longest time.

EP7 did well because it had good word of mouth, it was the major SW movie in 10 years and it was a long awaited sequel to Return of the Jedi. Special effects didn't made the movie.

I don't like that ever since the SEG came out, everyone treats it like the holy grail of DB knowledge. Especially with the arbitrary Super Saiyan 2 and 3 multiplier values.

What I hate about the fandom?

- Criticism inconsistent
- Lack of objectivity
- The fans propensity to wanting to impose their own tastes as objective values

GT has stupid dumb power levels, and everyone I know harps about it. Hence GT logic became a thing. Super arguably is even worse, and suddenly it's now ok for it to be dumb. But fuck GT for doing it first cause Toriyama wasn't part of it amirite?
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

- Blind defense of the franchise just from blind brand loyalty.
- Using mistakes from the past to justify when they're repeated now.
- Those who refuse to accept that Mister Satan is factually the strongest human.

You'd think the Super complaining would be worse than GT because GT happened, its problems are known to all and yet Super's blatantly repeating them with a lot less good ideas conceptually to even somewhat make up for any execution problems.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

People thinking there is a portion of the fanbase that think when Toei does it's band but when Toriyama does it's better. Seriously nobody does that.

My biggest dislike about the fandom is how every other discussion on here lately is "Subliminally belittle other portions of the fandom while speaking in broad strokes." Which is essentially "I'm sick of seeing these opinions I disagree with!"
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

It really bugs me how NOW people are ok with bullshit levels. NOW they'll make up whatever theory they want to justify it. Yet before Super came, no one would dare try to make sense of GT levels. It was laughed off as joke to even try. But here we are, with even more bullshit, and now it's ok to go all theorizing and making sense of gibberish. I bat an eye wondering, where the hell was all this when people shat on GT for being nonsensical? It's almost if something dumb and nonsensical is by Toriyama or deemed "Canon", then it's immediately not dumb and there must be some thought in it.

Agreed. Where do these threads keep coming from? We're all very done here. These contributions are terrible.
