I saw some video by geekdom that showed beerus' voice actor in the dub releasing a thing that said he awakens and a picture of super fro mwhat looks like a recording booth session, so idk. I hope they're working on it.
Any post before 8/7/2016 isn't mine. This account was a gift from someone who thought the account was already banned. Saved me the trouble of making a new one haha XD

I know about that, but Chris Sabat has already said it wasn't the dub, and he doesn't know when it is happening.

Any official word on why it's not finished yet? i'm confused why Asia's toonami gets it but not funimation. And I heard that was canceled.

Nothing official at all from Funimation, but Sean Schemmel back in April said they started negotiations with Toei late last year, and Chris Sabat told him he thought it was happening soon.

Ironically, I reached out to Toonami Asia yesterday, and they told me they'll make an announcement on the launch date and what dub they will be using as soon as they know via their facebook & twitter accounts.

Thanks DBZ lee. I hope we get one soon. It'll be interesting to watch two dubs. Is the toonami asia dub English? I keep hearing yes and no.

No problem at all. Yes, the Toonami Asia dub is going to be English.
I also asked if they knew if multiple English dubs were in production, as they said *which* dub they would be using, but they said that is a question for Toei Japan.

It is going to feel like the 90's again with multiple dubs lol.

YES! I actually prefer that. I want a release of the entire ocean dub. I watch the first 2 arcs in ocean first. I grew up with dbz since it premiered on toonami.

I think the hold up is going on in Super for two things:

1. Toei wants a TV deal and Kai is still airing on Toonami. Toonami can't have both Super and Kai airing on the same time slot due to Toonami wanting to use the 12:00 - 12:30 AM time slots for new shows. AS needs the 11:00 PM to time slot for Family Guy because Fox shows keeps AS alive. Once the Buu saga is over on Toonami, we will probably get Super dubbed.

2. Funimation wants to use the fixed HD versions that have the improve animation. Funimation may know about the famous episode 5 and how bad the show can look at times. So they can use the fixed animation episodes for streaming, TV and home video sales.

I honestly believe Toonami won't happen anytime in the near future.
If the UK can air Kai on daytime children's programming, then I'm sure the US can air Super somewhere.
Toei has stated they want Super on kids timeslots, so for obvious reasons, that rules out Toonami, until Toei simply give up, and let Funi start releasing to home video like they have done with One Piece.

Speaking of One Piece, what Funimation won't want (or Toei for that matter) is another situation whereas the dub is so far behind that no one cares for it.
Even the voyages (which are the most up to date episodes you can watch) are 5 years behind.
That is likely the reason why Toei allowed them to release those episodes to home video, without being aired as they are so far behind, we would be waiting for years.

The fact they are so far behind, has seriously affected the Series, and it wasn't helped by the terrible 4kids production, which put networks off airing it.
I personally don't want to wait for 3 years after Super began airing to watch it in my native language.

The demographic Toei are trying to reach are not people in their teens or adults, but children.
It is their IP, which they paid to produce, and their responsibility to protect it.
Toonami starts at 23:30, and some weeks, doesn't even air Kai if there are marathons for other shows.
Children wouldn't even be aware of the show, and would rely on their parents to DVR it.

I simply don't think it makes a difference when they dub it, the actors have schedules to adhere to, and that is the window they have to record.
Waiting years to start dubbing so they can take their time doesn't really work in a recording sense in my opinion, but maybe for scripting.
Given Toei won't license without a TV deal anyway, I feel makes that redundant.

Ultimately, I would assume Funimation would have Super tied up by the end of the year, and start airing around Summer next year at the latest.

Toonami probably wants Super given how well Kai is doing for them. Not to mention I don't see normal CN airing Super because they don't like action cartoons now these days. They pretty much screw over Thundercats and Young Justice as well with putting Transformers: RID 2015 on a terrible time slot. Nick Toons could pick up and that's the only kids network I can think of that would air Super. Disney XD is not going to pick it up unless it has a big toyline (see Yokai Watch).

I have no doubt that Toonami want Super, Kai's numbers speak for themselves.
I totally understand what you are saying about Cartoon Network, but Toei would rather Super air on a bad timeslot than go onto Toonami.
If Toonami was a daytime channel/block they would be fine with it, but it just isn't suitable.

Apparently, they are even opposing the French version going on J-One, because they want it on a children's channel/programming block - the French translator for the series confirmed today he doesn't yet know where and when it will air, and they are already dubbing, and have 20 episodes done.

Here in the UK, Yo-Kai! Watch is airing on Cartoon Network, and is pulling in some great figures.
Disney XD may be an option for the States, but I do know they are very strict on content, they even censored Doraemon.
