Your thoughts on the new opening song.

Reading the lyrics of this song makes me realize the opening itself might be "spoling" something.
Phrases such as "Even the gods are blown away" and the breaking limits theme is really strong. Maybe it won't have any meaning, but I feel like Goku might just surpass everyone this arc, maybe with that new transformation hinted in the opening?

Super can truly, and I mean well and truly fuck right off if Goku ever gets past Whis, much less Zeno or the Grand Priest. He has no business ever getting to their level.

Even Akira Toriyama implies it by stating that it will be a while before Goku and Vegeta ever catch up and surpass Beerus and Whis. So this was never a if, but when. Still doesn't mean that you actually have to like it though.

Those two are the only guys they should potentially match, anything above that is total lunacy. And if Toriyama does actually do that, this franchise has to die afterword. You can't write anything with a Zeno tier Goku, nothing at all. Which may be a good thing since it really hasn't justified coming back.

I agree that they will only reach Beerus level at best, I imagine that even Toriyama knows that if they match Zeno, then there's nothing that he can actually do. To be fair, the franchise never justified any content after Freeza.

When it comes to directing/animation/storyboard i'd say it's by far the best opening in the franchise. But as good as the animation is, i'm liking the song, too. We're lucky, as anime songs are rarely this energetic these days, let alone written especially for a show/arc.

Goku will eventually surpass them. But it won't happen this arc.

Are you including Zen-oh? How do you expect Goku to surpass someone whose powers aren't exactly strength-based? He's not even said to be a fighter...that would be just terrible.

To be fair, if a new transformation is presented (and that's heavily hinted in the opening) it should be realy close to Beerus in terms of power level. But I don't think it would benefit the story in any way to have Goku surpassing the hakaishin.

The new opening is the best opening since Cha La, and and I'm including the video game opening in that as well. Just the way its starts with the fast paced fighting, the way it uses the Dragon Balls, the tone of the song, its's just got the essential Dragon Ball vibe.

Doubt it, the line was "oira" Goku uses "ora" wasnt Oob the one that uses "oira?" I think that meant that Oob is waiting for him.

Exactly. The phrase used in Japanese is "ottamage", which refers to, like, being impressed/shocked at something. So it's just a "Even the King of All will be impressed by how incredibly awesome we are!"
(As a random aside, I'm pretty sure the phrase "ottamageta" is where Otta Magetta gets his name from.)

You might want to add captions to that, since some of it might be a bit hard to hear clearly. Especially the last line where I mispronounced "Roulette"...
