How could he be holding back if he used his strongest form ?
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Do you think Goku is so inexperienced that he can't control his own power? If he couldn't I'd think Goku would cause a lot more collateral damage when he fights. If this were the case how is every punch these people throw just not completely destroying the planet? I don't know the how. But I know he was holding back. Because Krillin isn't dead.

If he's holding back, why use his god form?

Intimidation.

Goku knew that he could easily blow away Krillin just in his base form alone. But that's not what he was looking to achieve. He wanted to test Krillin's nerve and bravery in a dynamic scenario that Krillin has never been in before: going toe-to-toe with a person who can wield otherworldly ki. Goku knows exactly how much strength as SSJB could instantly overwhelm Krillin. Whether it be a fraction. A fraction of a fraction. Or a fraction of a fraction of a fraction. I mean, we see Goku and Vegeta play freakin baseball as Super Saiyan Blue's and they don't kill anyone even in that circumstance. So I think Goku is very capable of monitoring how much ki his outputs in any of Super Saiyan form regardless of how strong it is.

The point of SSJB being utilized was to send of an impression what kind fighters Krillin may be up against. And Goku knows full well that Krillin is prone to getting nervous even from just sensing immense strength and he's never seriously fought an opponent who has Godly ki. So Goku wanted to see how Krillin would react he faced such an opponent with an intimidating presence and aura to them. That why Goku literally asks Krillin what will he do once Goku turned Super Saiyan Blue. And although Krillin was initially nervous, he didn't back down at all, and even showed the sheer willpower and determination to fight back, much to Goku's surprise. It was such an awesome moment for the Krillin's character. Especially consider how much the show built up to that moment. If anything, Goku using SSJB shows that he has an immense amount of respect and belief in for Krillin.

It's overkill. If he's fighting his friend whom he has no intention of hurting, why use his strongest form? Even in his base, the gap between them is gigantic.

For it to be like the manga. The fights and writing are better, there aren't as many plot holes and the Zamasu arc isn't being rushed.

What i want from super is just more care and passion to be put into it. For starters above all else the story, characters and ethos need to be much better. I'm sorry but the manga is not much better then the show. better writers are in order. Legacy characters need to act and stay true to what they are and can't rely on gimmicks and nostalgia (blue hair/ turning legendary super Saiyan into canon/ powering up old characters) The writing has to be genuine with a story worth telling, not what it is, not a story to sell merchandise to make a quick buck.

The animation may be bad, the music uninspiring and the fact the show doesn't feel like DB are other issues but none more important then story/plot.

So to me Super is more damaging as its messing with the canon into this poor fanfic. Its also the fact that most adults and teens i know just dont care about the show. It fails to appeal to people that want more and something new from an older franchise. I think i know about 20 DB fans and only 5 of them, myself included watch super. Only 1out of the 5 actually enjoys the show lol. I've also talked to my younger cousins and they say they would rather watch other animes. I dont know where super is popular but its deff not popular where I'm at.

That's not the point. He was testing the mettle of the fighters, especially so with Kuririn. He even took it a step further with Gohan to the same end.

Would you really be any more scared falling 10 than you would if you fell 2 miles? Either way you are dead.

And? Goku having sentience isn't the point. All you've stated is Kuririn should be glad that Goku can choose not hurt him if he wanted, but if an opponent stronger than Kuririn wanted to intimidate him and kill him, would it really matter if Kuririn was up against an opponent 100 times stronger than him or 1 billion times stronger.

In the case that Kuririn is fighting someone that actually want's to kill him, then no it doesn't matter. But this was Goku testing his friend. To see if he is willing to stand up to those much more powerful than he is. Not saying Blue isn't overkill, but the original point I was making was that Goku was indeed holding back. Not if Gokus logic made sense or if Kuririn should be scared.

I would be. A 10 mile drop is much more intimidating and a lot more painful, as well as giving me much more time to anticipate the painful landing.
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

You'd hit terminal velocity long before 10 miles are up, so you'd definitely have a couple of minutes to contemplate your death.

I really don't it's even intimidating at all if Krillin can't even sense God ki. I know we got that pressure thing going but how intimidating is it really if he can't actually sense his strength. If anything it would be less intimidating.

It's kind of hard to tell. They're very vague about it. Some feel pressure and some don't feel anything. And those that feel pressure don't elaborate on the feeling.

It's not more painful, it's a death sentence either way.

You think the only time people are contemplating their death is during the drop? I'm sure people are more intimidated by the higher number, but you aren't surviving a 2 mile high fall (not counting those outliers where by crazy stupid luck someone survived). I'm just as scared of falling from a skyscraper as I am from a plane. In this case, the issue is not the consequence of the impact, it's the time which is a different issue and it's also splitting hairs.

They mention the massive pressure it gives off for a reason, people know they're in some shit when Goku or Vegeta brings out Blue.

The amount of head canon you put into that essay just shows you how weak the writing and poorly executed it is.
