Why so much hate with the Divine forms?

My problem with the divine forms has nothing to do with their design. I think SSG simplicity worked well. SSB looks good on Vegeta, but after the previous form gives that "another recolor" feel, and is dull.
The hate, I think, come because they added not one but two tiers insanely powerful and way above everyone else but the haikais and angels, so the writters have to choose between having cero tension and stupid reasons to not transform (champa arc), or to f*ck up power levels harder than ever before ( the last two arcs). I think the latter is the right choice at this point, but I can understand why some people is annoyed.

Ah! And the lore and the way to achieve those transformations was awful, too. The contrary happens with SS4, I liked how they linked it with the oozaru form, but I think the design is tawdry
