I've been told I have a a wide range in voice and that I should do voice acting... I don't know if they're just talking out their asses, or not... But I'd love to help out! I truly would! This is something I've always wanted to do. I would like to do either a soft voiced character like Trunks or Tapion, or a deep voice character like Piccolo or Vegeta.

Okay, it's time to get serious. Now that's it's been made clear that there's a definitive and widespread interest in doing this, then let's get to some serious planning. Time to adress some major issues.

First off, we need to firmly decide on which movie we'll dub. Movie 13 had been the biggest contender so far. But I'm beginning to have second thoughts about it. There's a large cast, to be sure. However, since it focuses so much around Tapion, Trunks, and Hoi, there'd end up being a lot of work for their VAs and several others (like Bulma), and not much by anyone else, even "lead characters" like Goku and Vegeta. We should do one that not only has a wide cast, but where the dialogue and action is more evenly spread out among everyone.

In that case, I suggest Movie 7: Super Android 13. It has a bunch of heroes and villians with a good deal of dialogue and action all around, as well as lots of secondary characters like Roshi, Chi-Chi, Oolong, and the like. Any opinions? Seconds? Or should we stick with 13? We should decide on that first of all.

Next, some major positions will need filling. It’s not all just voice acting, you know!

["Director"] - Someone should be in overall charge of things, and have responsibilities such as deciding on VA roles after auditions, assiging responsibilites and generally delegating things. I'm willing to do this in addition to (hopefully) VAing if nobody else minds/could do it better. I honestly don't have the equipment or expertise to do anything significant other than voice acting in any other area. In terms of picking VAs, one or two others should discuss it with the Director, so as to avoid any bias. We want to try and be fair with casting. The director would also, well, direct. He would have a script, and would coach and make suggestions to the picked VAs as they record their parts.

[Sound] - With all the CDs that various members own, I'm not worried about racking up BGM. I am worried about where to get sound effects, like explosions, energy beams, etc, and especially DBZ-specifics like "the SSj whoosh-whoosh." We might be forced to rip them from DVDs, or something. In short, someone should be in charge of gathering up the sound and making it usable. This might also apply to cleaning up the VAs' recordings. So ideally, this would be someone who knows their way around a soundboard and other such equipment. Tenken, might you be capable of this?

[DragonBox: The Movies Owner/Ripper] - We need to get the footage from somewhere, right? The most logical (and smexiest) source would be the DragonBox. But we would need someone who owns it to rip it at a decent quality (minus most of the audio, obviously), and make it available for use.

[Video Editor] - Probably one of, if not the, biggest job of all. Somebody needs to put it all together. Whoever's in charge of audio might be able to provide the Video Editor with a single, long audio track or two of some sort (I have no idea how that works, sorry). But the video editor would have the job of combing the movie footage with our "new" audio, as it is provided to him/her. The video editor would work closely with the director.

[Writer] - Someone needs to put together a script. Oh Great Steve Simmons, if you can hear us, then would you be willing to provide us with some sort of transcript of your translations for whichever movie we decide upon? That way, the appointed writer can scribble up an English script based upon your wondrous translations.

[Voice Actors] Last but not least, our voice talent. Once a movie is decided upon, the director will be responsible for compiling a list of characters. Once that list is up, everyone should start practicing for whatever characters they believe they can do well. The director will make a sperate thead for posting audition recordings.

I think that covers all the major positions. We should really get these things decided before we worry about role casting.

I would like to be a voice actor. I have a great deal of experience in acting and I think I could be very helpful in getting things rolling.

Movie 7 doesn't sound bad either, although I like the story for movie 13 better.

I don't think I would be up for anything except doing some voice. I can run a computer but I cant compress or any jazz like that.

WHICH MOVIE SHOULD BE DUBBED?

a) "Movie 13 - Dragon Fist Assault"

This movie has a wide range of characters and a great plot. There would be some interesting voices to dub, including Gotenks, big 'ol Hildegarn, and creepy old Hoi. The funny thing is, our dialogue would probably end up better than FUNimation's.

b) "Movie 7 - Super Android 13"

Like 13, this movie also has a wide range of characters, with several heroes and villains, as well as a bunch of supporting characters and a decent plot. Unlike 13, however, the amount of dialogue is much better distributed among the characters, meaning no lead voice actors would end up with too much or too little of a work load.

c) "Movie __, because..."

…and of course, if there’s one out of the 13 movies and 2 specials you think would turn out better than either of the two, feel free to suggest it. But be sure to give a good explaination why.

Okay. I think a good time to close the “voting” out would be this time tomorrow. Unless there’s an overwhelming amount of votes one way or the other.

I, for one, believe 7 would be better.

I think Movie 3 would be a good one to do. Not rediculously long like DBZ 13, and tons of characters. Goku, Gohan, Kuririn, Piccolo, Tenshinhan, Chaozu, Yamcha, Puar, North Kaio, Bulma, Chi-Chi, Tullece (I pronounce it in my head as Tuh-Less), and all of Tullece's henchman. I could try to do a voice, but I doubt I'd be good as anyone, I'll try though.

-edit-Sorry I forgot to add reasons why. Movie Three has the most diverse class of heroes in the movies. It's been a long time since I was hyped for a movie with saiyan heroes as the minority. It's a movie without super saiyans and it's a movie with the great ape. I could really see this happening, Mr. Kaboom.

If your arguement is that movie 13 has only a few large speaking roles, look at movie 3. The main speakers are Goku, Tullece, Piccolo and Gohan.

I actually think movie 7 would be best because then everyone gets a chance to redcord if they want to.

That means a lot of the sounds we'd be doing would be grunts and sounds of agony. I'm just looking foward to hearing people talk ;p. I don't about you, but after a few months in the forum, the "silence" of it all is kind of creepy. I'm gonna try putting up some sound clips of me. I might as well do the audio questions for the podcast that I was too lazy to do.

Of course I want to hear some voice. I also want to be sure that everyone who wants to record can, that would be a problem with doing movie 3 unless of course I get to be Goku and talk the whole time. But then again I like to talk to myself.

I would like to lay down some audio, but I need all the help I can get. I can speak into my computers built in microphone. But I need some video to lay down for. Maybe some Tullece?

CAn anyone help a brother out?
