The new One Piece DVD makes DBZ re-season 5 look like a joke

So I guess you could say that there are occasions where DBZ has fansub levels of swearing, depending on how you interpret words. I remember in the Cell saga, Cell yells out, "HOLY SHIT!" when Vegeta fires the Final Flash. In the subtitles, it simply said "Holy sh-!" but you can tell what they meant. As pointed out before, swearing is good when necessary, but the fansubs overdo it. Goku saying, "Get the fuck off this shitty planet!" is a good example of overdoing the subs.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Didn't Vegeta call someone a "candy-ass faggot" in an Anime Labs fansub?

It's vulgar and offensive, because Vegeta's the cool one!

Yep. Haven't seen the official sub of the scene, but heard it said something along the lines of "Come out you coward!" Was something similar in the dub and English manga.

Listen to the German Dub, such a classic.

That line is from movie 13, so there is no manga to speak of. Don't know about the dub for that movie, never seen it myself.

Heard the line was from when he's searching for Gero in the mountains.

I thought it was from Vegeta's angry speech to Hildegarn. Now that I think about it though, you may be right.

Wow, I guess I'm not taking your opinion seriously ever again.
This is what I hate about this forum.
A bunch of stuck elitists (and don't say you arn't, because you know thats how you are acting right now), who don't have any consideration for other peoples opinions, or musical tastes. Some people like Faulconer music, get over it.

No, that line was "You fucking bastard! You dare to destroy my house! Now you've really pissed me off! Fuck you!". In other words, not even slightly vulgar AT ALL. Steve Simmons translated it as "Smash up another man's house, will you?! I am in a foul mood today! Don't come too close, or you'll get burned!".

I've seen worse, trust me. At least you don't get banned because a bunch of morons don't like you here. (Unlike on AP, where I've noticed about a million bastards that keep breaking the rules all the time, whereas several people who actually follow the rules got banned for no reason.)

Let's just agree to disagree. Some like the Faulconer "music" and some don't. It's no reason to throw the 'E' word around. :P

He wasn't being an elitist because of his hate for Faulconer's music. He was being an elitist because he said he wouldn't take Rory's opinions seriously anymore because Rory likes Faulconer's music.

No need to throw the term "music" around so loosely too, I'm not sure if I would define the dub score as "music".

Bruce's music seemed to be just there in my opinion. I would take it that people like his score because it's what they recognize DBZ being to them.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

I'm no fan of twenty year old Japanese orchestral "music." So
Let's just agree to disagree.

Lemme' just jack the steering wheel and get us back on topic here.

Does anyone know why DBZ is FUNI's only property is constantly getting raped? What other projects does Sabat direct, or does he direct all of FUNI's in-house jobs?

Not everything. He did direct Blue Gender which I heard was a good dub though I have yet to see it.

Because Dragon Ball is still a cash cow for Funimation... they know that as long as they can keep putting out "improved" releases, people will buy them.

It's sickening, but I feel like it's not going to change anytime soon. It makes me pretty angry, since as a whole, I like Funimations dubs/DVDs.

Which makes me think, how much more can they do? I know they can release the season sets and movies in Blu-ray. "Remaster" Dragonball and Dragonball GT then release THOSE in Blu-ray but where do they go from there? Can Blu-ray be improved upon in the future so they can release those same product in even higher definition?

I think if and when they release a new set, they'll try and go with the Dragon Box masters.

"Dragon Ball Z... the way it was meant to be seen!"

But even if they did that, they'd probably still mess with the masters and over-saturate them or something. But I have a notion that's the route they'd try to go. And it would be a good route if they don't mess with it. And maybe actually FIX the dub. It's one of the only dubs I hate watching, and I wish it wasn't that way.
