In light of the up coming Budokai 3 release, the only people who are going to buy Final Bout, are collectors and those who don't know any better.

Also...people who don't own PS2s.

Kyle Hebert just recently stated that the game won't have an english dub... this ethier means -

1. The characters will speak in japanese (better have some subs!)

2. The characters won't talk peroid (course that would be boring)

3. The pre-fight dialogue will be cut, but the in-game voice samples will remain intact (as done with UB22)

The characters HAVE to slide onto the screen when selected; that's when the damn in-game battles LOAD :P. If they're going to be no dub, I'm assuming they'll just slide onto the screen and not say anything.

Which is stupid, but I guess makes sense.

So then what about the after-fight taunts? Will those be Japanese too?

L. Goku...like Little Goku...like American release...like...uhh...

So what I mean is it looks basically the same and it even says on atari.com "released in 1997 in limited quantities" which would be the ol' USA one so what I'm hoping is that this is the one with awful dubbing.

Wow, I had forgotten that Final Bout's character models look like they were stolen from Final Fantasy VII. Thanks for reminding me why I prolly shouldn't pick up the game :P

Final Bout's character models look a lot nicer in a PSX emulator

At least, they look smoother, and the game can play a lot faster if you want hehe. I'm such a bastard, I play all my PSX games on my laptop, I dont need my ol PSX anymore.

There's absolutely nothing wrong or illegal, inherently, with an emulator (provided it is programmed from the ground up and does not contain any illegal BIOS material and such).

It's perfectly legal to play a game you own on an emulator of a system you own. It's when things start crossing that line that it becomes a problem.

I actually liked Final Bout, it was kinda fun. I mean you had free-range flying and the combos were nice. I'd buy it for the heck of it.

I HATED the Meteo combo stuff, it was impossible for me to learn or to counter. It was very aggrevating.

I use emulators but that's because I have a busted up Sega Genisis, SNES and NES all thanks to my 3 younger brothers. So I emulate the game I have laying around instead of buying the consoles again. Emulators are fine unless you go grab the games before they even hit the stores/you don't own them.

What I meant was emulators are bad when people use them instead of buying the game. If you're only using it because the game's no longer available, or you just want to test-play it before buying, that's fine (by me, but not a lot of other people.)

That's why bleem! wasn't deemed illegal...
of course, they went out of business a while later...

I was really annoyed when they cut out the character scenes from UB22. From what I remember, they were just so damn funny to watch. Didnt Meri have a section bashing them awhile back?

I bought UB22 for the whole purpose of watching the pre-fight movies, but I guess they aren't on the UK PAL version... >.<

Yeah, I believe she did. Oh, how I loved watching Cell destroy #16's head in one of those cutscenes. As I call it, the infamous "Hop-squish."

The after-fight scenes were better. I was sitting around playing the import version with some friends a few years ago and one of my buddies was gloating so bad about his skills and he lost to Ginyu by some really weak attack I don't remember. We were all laughing at him, then Ginyu came on screen and started laughing. Naturally this made us laugh more. Funniest coincidence ever.

Recoom's opening is the best!

Quin neui chi chuboi! Chout!

No idea what the HFIL he is saying, but it sounds funny.
