What else should I talk about in this thread? Dragon Ball Evolution?dbboxkaifan wrote:I'm confused now, "that movie" you mean this film?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I don't know, you kept saying that movie instead of this movie.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:What else should I talk about in this thread? Dragon Ball Evolution?

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
IIRC, the 10 year time skip actually happens at the end of 517 with teenage Trunks going to Gohan's house. But it's obvious what they meant, so I'm not gonna complain too much.
Poor Oob. I guess that Neko Majin cameo is the last we'll ever get of him. No Pan or Bra either. Are kid Goten and Trunks really that popular? Or do they just want to avoid GT stigma?

Can we get an independent confirmation on said new information? Anyone actually pick up the magazine yet?

I too would rather have something in the time skip between the introduction of Uub and the beggining of GT. It would be interesting to see Uub and Pan shine. I've grown weary of Trunks and Goten, never really liked them to begin with.
Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
Really don't think something based on the manga will touch on GT at all.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

I was kind of surprised we're still getting new information from WJ #33, but ANN is usually trustworthy. I don't know anything about the site they reference, though.VegettoEX wrote:Can we get an independent confirmation on said new information? Anyone actually pick up the magazine yet?

Uh...anyone...want to fill me in on what that says?
Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
You should get Google Chrome, translates websites automatically for you. Anyways it basically says the same thing ANN did with a few extra details.

Perhaps it should take place in a frozen hell with flying pigs as the means of transportation.DarkPrince_92 wrote:Maybe Yamucha will finally get to shine....

The ANN article was linked in this thread just a few hours ago.mattymoron wrote:I browse with Chrome, I'm in it right now, but it didn't translate that for me. What did the ANN thing say?
But it basically says the movie will be set in the 10 year time skip between Boo and Oob.

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
I wouldn’t mind a Makaiou or Makaioushin as a villain, since we haven’t see them physically in any official material other than DBO. I definitely don’t want yet another Saiyan (and you’d have to make a pretty big asspull, one that tops Broli, for him to somehow be a challenge for Gokuu and co.), some remnant of Freeza’s army, or something related to previous villains again. Just someone fresh, new, interesting, and exciting. And Mr. Boo should fight too, since he’s actually part of the Dragon Team now (seriously, was anyone as disappointed as I was when neither he nor Mr. Satan appeared in DBZ Movie #13?).Chuquita wrote:What sort of new bad guys would everyone like to see the cast face? Makaioshin like in DBO? A new saiyajin? Some kind of space army? Another mad scientist? As long as I find the new bad guy(s) interesting, I'm not overly picky. I just want it to be somebody we haven't seen before.

I don't think that's what he meant. He wants to verify it with our own Kanzenshuu sources, rather than playing a broken telephone game with ANN and its sources.orangebrick94 wrote:Since when did ANN become untrustworthy?
