So true. He really takes criticism well and graciously, and if he does a fraction of the changes he said he will it will be fantastic!
Hell, I tweeted him under one of my parody accounts, not directly, just a @ referencing him, and he responded asking for criticism! He really wants to do well, and I think that will make his Vegeta extremely memorable on his effort alone!

Kaioh sounds like a mix of Schemmel and Yanami/Tatsuta, which works quite well.
I still think Lang sounds a bit odd as Goku, but he certainly seems to "get" the character, as does the writer.
I wonder if the casting director knew that Wendee Lee had voiced Bulma previously, and I wonder if they'll cast the same VA for Arale as Harmony Gold used when they dubbed the movies.

Oh, no, Lex gets the character itself, but his voice choices such as a lower, intellectual tone and the fact he has held back on all his yells so far (I mean that man played Kenshiro, and his screams were GODLY) removed my immersion. He needs to work on the voice, and I feel these are the key areas he could get better in. I'm not gonna go into what happened, but it would seem he, uh, respectfully disagrees XD.usotsuki wrote:Kaioh sounds like a mix of Schemmel and Yanami/Tatsuta, which works quite well.

I do not think your voice acting is awful at all I just don't think your voice was a good casting choice for Goku. You have proven in many other shows you can act your performance is Rurouni Kenshin as Sanosuke was absolutely awesome. I have liked your roles from Bleach, Fate Stay Night and many other as well I just think it was a miscast. I think given that they casted you as Goku you are giving the best Goku performance you possibly can but it doesn't fit the character, at least not yet. I look forward to see how your Goku voice evolves and really hope Kaijii does the same because I know he is a great voice actor from listening to his performance in Fate Stay Night UBW. Can I ask a question did they give some kind of direction that you needed to sound like the Funimation cast at first? I am just curious because some of the VA's do and some of them don't just please do your own performance and make the character your own. This community can be harsh but, i know a lot of us are excited that their is another English version for Super.

Ironically now that I think about it Lex's voice might not fit Goku as well as some of us would of liked but i bet he knocks Black out of the park. It will be a long time before we find out but I do think he can do Black justice.

I've been thinking to myself that Lex would make an epic Goku Black. Sorta like how I feel about Nozawa. She doesn't fit the build of regular Goku, but her change in tone was so amazing for that Black design that everybody unanimously agrees (even the youtube fandom) that she KILLED it.

It would be funny and interesting if Steve Blum voices Goku Black.

There's no legal way to watch it in the US even. It's limited to TV broadcasts in Asia and India. We're lucky that we can see it at all thanks to people in those countries uploading recordings.Doctor. wrote:So is there any legal way to watch this dub outside of the US?

Michael McConnohie's take on King Kai is absolutely delightful. Easily my favorite voice in this dub. I love that we finally have a English voice that isn't a goofy cartoony voice. It's beautiful.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Bang Zoom Dub Official Discussion Thread
Hi guys! I made an account ummm right before the dub aired I think? Because I saw people were getting all confused about my tweet about this airing in Australia, which I guess was wrong (aw!). I'm sorry! I wanted to make an account to apologize for getting too excited and getting confused about where this dub was going to be shown, because it looked like it got all of you confused too >_< My boyfriend is from Australia so I was excited thinking his family could watch it. Oops!
Anyway it took a few days to get approved here so I ended up making a tweet apologizing for the confusion instead of posting here specifically, and so I wasn't gonna post since there's no need to now, but I decided since I'm approved I might as well drop a quick thank you for being interested in our dub! I'm so happy people want to watch it~! And errr between us this thread was the only way I could find it to watch myself... Shhhh... So um, yeah, that's all! I haven't had a chance to read any posts past those made like as episode 1 was airing but I'm just glad people are watching this version too, and I hope you guys are liking it
It's an honor to be a part of Dragon Ball, even if just sort of lol
...Oh this is Erika Harlacher btw, I didn't mention who I was... Sorry ahhh it's weird that I'm posting this but I already wrote it all out... um... anyway thank you guys for the interest! Sorry for intruding! And sorry for being dumb about where this was gonna air! Uh... okay bye! (God I'm awkward even in forum posts... >_<)

Right, so after watching the first 2 episodes, I think I prefer this to Funimation's dub. It's not perfect, script could do some work, Lang's Goku seems a bit too restrained for my taste though he does get the character better than Schemmel does. Most of the major characters are an improvement, especially Kaio.

Kanzenshuu sure is popular lately. As a big fan, WELCOME. I was actually the one who asked where it was gonna be airing in Australia, I go by Phantom Thief on twitter (A reference I'm sure you'll get with you voicing Anne in THAT game). You killed it as Videl on the Bang Zoom dub. I hope you enjoy your time on Kanzenshuu, most of us don't bite. BTW keep up the fantastic work voicing Kurapika.Erikawithak wrote:Hi guys! In all seriousness though, glad you found the dub Erikawithak. Your Videl is probably my favourite voice the character has had so far, even beating out Moneca Stori and Kara Edwards' portrayals that I grew up with. I'm sure they'll be those who'll nitpick the voice for not sounding like what they're used to but just know you have your fans and I personally hope you keep making the character your own.
As for the dub not airing in Australia, I don't believe there's been any solid confirmation either way so for all we know it very well could. We've received info from a source at Turner Asia (who are allegedly the owners of the BZ dub) that this version will be broadcast in Cartoon Network across Africa later this year in addition to the Asian markets. In the past, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa have received similar treatment when it comes to Dragon Ball so it's tough to predict how things will go.
The UK has had a history of getting alternate English dubs in the past however it seems that currently no broadcasters in this region are willing to air Super. If it does get shown on a Turner owned channel here though, there's a good chance it could be your dub!

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Bang Zoom Dub Official Discussion Thread
Welcome, Erika! Thanks for joining us here, it's awesome to have another voice actor from this dub here! (That makes 2 Bang Zoom actors and 0 Funimation actors!? Unless you count Sean Schemmel, but it's been seven years since then.)
As someone of the younger generation of voice talent who grew up in the era when Funimation did their original dub of Dragon Ball Z, what is it like to actually be working on the latest installment of the series? Have you taken any inspiration from what Kara Edwards has done in any way, or are you deliberately making the role entirely your own? Are you following the Funimation dub on TV at all?
Also, I'm assuming that you're familiar with the history of Videl's character, so if you ever got the chance, are there any specific moments for her in Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball GT that you would've liked to give your own take on? (When I think of defining moments for Videl, I always think of her fight with Spopovich at the 25th World Tournament.)
... Sorry for bombarding you with all this, but I just find it interesting to receive insight on these things from someone actually working on the show.
