Alternate cosume I guess. I like that they made it like Cell Arc Gohan and Piccolo's outfit, but aren't there better alt costumes, like the Saiyan armor he wears on Namek?SuperSaiyan3Goku wrote:Why is Krillin's outfit blue? He's almost always Orange in every DBZ game. Well, at least it's not his permanent color.

If their not going to change the gameplay then all I want is for them to add better dialogue at the beginning and end of a match. No more of that general "Die.....you!" or "That was pretty fun!" I would like somthing like Goku saying, "That was a good match Krillin." Somthing in which one character addresses another character. They only had a few in budokai 3, but I would like somthing like that for every character. Also, if I defeat somone with a Perfect, it would be nice if after the match the character wouldn't say, "Phew, that was a close one." It's just not consistant. I geuss you can say I'm being nitpicky, but is it really that much to ask for? Especially since all they seem to be doing is using the same exact game engine as Shin Budokai 2 and only changing the graphics.

That's one of the few things that Final Bout nailed, and it wouldn't be bad to give the characters more variety in terms of victory quotes. These recent games sure need them.Drabaz wrote:Also, if I defeat somone with a Perfect, it would be nice if after the match the character wouldn't say, "Phew, that was a close one." When is it due to come out here?
July 15th/16th, 2008
They're probably not finished with all the voice-work yet and they're probably still finishing the game up. I'd expect it to go gold by around April, May at the latest.

I'm trying to be enthusiastic about this game. I really am. But it's the first in a series, almost ensuring it's not going to be good as the eventual next two games, and we're back to the whole Must Stop At Freeza Saga crap again, and the effects...
...just bug me. That whole shiny spacial distortion thing? Yegh.

I don't know why but this game isn't exciting me in the least. This is coming from a huge fan of Budokai 3 too. It just looks like a rehash and downgrade of the Budokai 3 game...just like the Shin Budokai series. The only reason I'd pick up this game would be to pop in my DBZ CD and use the 360 to play the Japanese BGM in the game. (Yes I'm aware this isn't a Budokai game.)
Aro started to laugh. “Ha, ha, ha,” he chuckled.- Actual quote from Twilight
Some news:
According to Famitsu the release date for the game is now 5 June.

Also at Meristation they have a proper full preview on the game. Here's the new tidbits:
- Modes: Story, Versus (against CPU, Player, Online), Trial Mode, Practice Mode, Options
- The game uses re-mastered versions of the most popular tracks from the anime BG music.
- The game in inspired by both the anime and manga.
- There are lots of what if's; these are triggered according to how the battles go.
- Cut scenes ("Drama Pieces") are completely integrated into game play.
- The game runs at 720p (1080p not available).
- Game is being developed on PS3 and ported to 360.
- Movement is similar to the Shin Budokai series, characters can move freely in 3D, not just sidestepping.
- Ki is being changed a bit. Super moves like the Genkidama cannot be used over and over as these are very powerful and energy consuming attacks.
- Those little icons under the health gauge are called "Power Ups". The player will be able to choose these before a match and they'll affect the drama pieces during the fight. Example: you choose a senzu power up and another character pops up during game play throwing the senzu at you when you trigger the item.
- The graphical engine used is called "High Quality Toon Shading" and was developed for this new series of DBZ games.
- Sound is in Dolby Digital.
- Story mode is presented well and cut scenes between battles tie up the action to the point that game play does not feel like a continuous series of fights.

EDIT: Oh, and there's multiple camera angles, just like in Shin Budokai:

I finally bought a gamecube. To bad they don't make any games for it now.
I'm hoping the box that says "character" and "35" means 35 characters. If so, the earlier report of 21 was wrong. Budokai 3 had 38 characters BTW.kvon wrote:Adding to more to that, someone found three scans of the game from the latest V-Jump:Nyoibo wrote:Some news

Here's what that box says:Taku128 wrote:I'm hoping the box that says "character" and "35" means 35 characters. If so, the earlier report of 21 was wrong. Budokai 3 had 38 characters BTW.
OK, 'display' isn't really the right word, but it seems to basically be saying that there will be 35 forms in the game, which are different from the characters from each arc. Combined with the earlier thing about 21 characters, perhaps that means there will be 21 seperate characters and 14 total transformations, making for 35 Sparking!-type "characters" available?35 super warriors
Burst Limit compiles the Saiyan arc, Freeza arc, and Cell arc!! The well-chosen challangers from there will display 35 forms!! In the name of the strongest, they'll show you the fiercest fighting in history!!
Don't know if this was confirmed earlier, but based on the above text it seems official that there will be no Buu arc.
It's $50 for the same damn thing with some new flashy bits and an incomplete storyline. Yaaay.Duo wrote:I think people will be very surprised with how awesome this title turns out to be. It's like half of the fans have forgotten this is the team that did Budokai 3, working on next-gen, with several years of development behind it.
