I'd love to eventually get a playable Gogeta in Fighterz. Vegetto's become my main so it'd be fun to have both fusions on a team.

Re: "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Official Discussion Thread
Hoping for a season 2 as well but Arcs just dropped a trailer for a new fighting game they're working on so that might've decreased the chances of more DLC. Though if we do get a "Deluxe Edition" normally they always include new content right? I know anytime NRS does their Game of the Year/ XL/Tournament Edition of their games, they always include BRAND NEW content as well as all the previous DLC packed in the game. Lets just hope ARCs System Works follows a similar path.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

New trailer for Jump Festa.

ArcSys has two dev teams though...goku the krump dancer wrote:Hoping for a season 2 as well but Arcs just dropped a trailer for a new fighting game they're working on so that might've decreased the chances of more DLC.

Not that I think there's a real reason to be concerned but their team is pretty small.KayDash wrote:ArcSys has two dev teams though...goku the krump dancer wrote:Hoping for a season 2 as well but Arcs just dropped a trailer for a new fighting game they're working on so that might've decreased the chances of more DLC.
It's also not just this new granblue game they are working on, there's: new guilty gear game in development, plus DLC for Blazblue Cross Tag and Dragon Ball. They might also still be working on the other Blazblue in regards to balance changes since the game is included in their Pro tour.
Do we know which team is working on this new game? Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball is the "red team", I assume this new game is by them also taking into account the graphics.

DBFZ removed from Anime Ascension:

This is really not a good look for future DBFZ tournaments.

Indeed. Yet at the same time, they say a trailer for FighterZ is going to be at Jump FIesta. Season 2 DLC, maybe?Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:DBFZ removed from Anime Ascension:

Re: "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Official Discussion Thread
Sounds like it's happening to a bunch of tournaments. Allegedly Toei saw the dollar signs and is clamping down hard.
It sucks if this keeps up. Hard to get excited for a season two if there's no competitive scene for it. After how massive and successful the game was this year, it's an awful look.

I hope it doesn't continue. Even though it's not fun for me to watch in tournaments, having tournaments help generate support for the game and doing this isn't good for anybody.
If Fighterz keeps not having tournament spots, competitors will just hop on over to Arcsys's other games and could effect the series chances with sequels/DLC.
Hopefully it's only temporary and the trailer coming out soon will generate hype and support from the community (I need my Gogeta in FighterZ, season 2 lets go)

Starting to think the trailer might just be for the Deluxe edition coming next yr.
I really hope I'm wrong.

I think the majority of sales comes from the casuals, not the FGC. And casuals don't give a crap about the FGC.Logania wrote:If Fighterz keeps not having tournament spots, competitors will just hop on over to Arcsys's other games and could effect the series chances with sequels/DLC.
Don't get me wrong, FighterZ is the reason I watched EVO for the first time in my life, but I doubt the game's absence from these tournaments will impact sales (much).

Yeah, it likely won't impact sells, but it'll definitely impact Bamco's vision for the game. They want this game to flourish in tournaments. It'll also hurt the community (offline) for the game.

Re: "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Official Discussion Thread
About a month ago SteamDB started to list 8 new DLCs under DBFZ's name:
https://steamdb.info/app/678950/dlc/
(Well, actually it's just 7, one of them were listed 4 months ago.)
Now it can be anything, but let's hope for the best...

Surprised we still didnt get any trailer for anything yet but everything going on with this game politically is pissing me the fuck off right now.
See this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_T2fVvxa2I
What in the actual blue hell is Toei thinking?
It's weird because in one of Geekdoms recent videos on Jump festa, in the description it says a lot of video game related content was pulled from the event last minute, so we might not be getting anything.. Seriously, i'm a bit irritated.

Made a thread about the tournaments being shut down. It's a topic beyond video games.
Pretty mad about this, more people should know about it.

Re: "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Official Discussion Thread
So does anyone have any concrete evidence it's Toei? All that I've seen has just been speculation and all the tournament organizers have kept it vague. I wouldn't put it past them but I'd like something tangible before throwing them under the bus.
I'd also be curious as to what exactly their asking. Is the license too high a cost? Was Toei too demanding and was asking for even streaming rights or something?
If Bandai or Arcsys were that interested in making DBFZ a true competitive tournament fighter then I feel like someone at either company should've had enough foresight to include tournament rights into the initial contract.
