Anyone else catching all of the engrish in this game? Gohan's Retaliates, for example. Looks like the localisation was a rush job.

If Kibito was in this he'd be the best healer in the game. Having a Kai equivalent of Instantaneous Movement to quickly teleport to downed allies and being a healer. He'd be on every team.

 . Does Pure Boo have Instantaneous Movement in this? Sorry I didn't buy this game.

Just beat the main story outside of a few ones like Gohan Retaliates, but I'll get to that soon. Got to the credits, so it counts. I guess since I didn't get some S ranks I didn't get some characters, which I'm working on getting. Yeah, I like this game. Maybe because I was tired off all the Sparking games, but I also just like this game. I dunno, I find it fun. It's not the best ever and I can see why some people don't like it. Anyways, Super Vegetto master race all day every day.

Some of the fights have alternate cutscenes that follow the story (to an extent), depending on who's on your team and who does what.
So far, I've found:
-Vegeta commenting on Nappa's failure if you beat him before Vegeta in "Nappa Cornered"
-Vegeta nearly re-enacting the "It's Over 9000!" scene as well as commenting on Goku's late arrival in "Son Goku's Anger!"
-Frieza killing Krillin in "The Super Saiyan" (If Final Form Frieza's not on your team or isn't the one to take him out, whoever kills him just blows him up with a Blast Spark.)
-Final Form Frieza shooting Goku in the face before his Super Saiyan speech in "The Furious Son Goku"
-Vegeta's disappointment or Trunks' joy at Cell's defeat in "Parent-And-Son Fight" if neither of them die
-Perfect Cell (not Super Perfect) crushing Android 16's head before Gohan goes SS2 in "A Fighter Beyond Goku" (If no Cell, 16 just explodes)
-Trunks (Sword) declaring that he'll defeat the Androids in "" (Also, the final fight seems to rotate between the first three forms of Cell.)
-Goten and Trunks marveling at Dabura being the king of darkness in "Dabura Appears!"
-Not a cutscene, but if SS2 Goku is on your team in "Is This...Majin Buu?!", Majin Vegeta will aggressively target him and no one else.

Yeah.

That's true. You can do something like that with anyone with Instant Transmission, though.

That sounds like a personal problem.

Oh! You mean he's beating you! Do you have 18 in your team? I've had good luck with her as a healer.

How do you unlock Perfect Cell anyways? I still don't know how to do that.

My experience with that was S ranking the fight against him... I got SSJ2 Teen Gohan by fighting against the heroes in the cell games. Seems like everyone is unlocked through S rankings (or the final forms of certain characters anyway).

It might be just because I'm a "Gundam VS" fan, but I love the feel of this game... the giant fights could have used a little tweaking though, I do not think any giant fights should be harder than Psyco Gundam/Big Zam/that one big thing from Zone of the Enders where you needed the decoy skill to avoid the lock-on laser.
In a world of approximately seven billion people, the irony is that wandering around... is the fastest way to get noticed

Yeah. But it sucks because for some of the characters it's ridiculously hard to get S ranks because the characters have so much health or are wicked strong. So, that doesn't help all too much.

Eventually you'll unlock the ability to use any character in missions that normally lock them out. That helps a little. I've found that bringing in souped up versions of decent "2 retry" characters, such as Jheese, also helps. Having retries left over at the end of the battle seems to improve your score.

IGN's Battle of Z page says their review will becoming up later this month.

Hope it's not reviewed either by Vince Ingenito (Sonic: Lost World) or Anthony Gallegos (Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2) because their reviews were some of the worst reviews on the internet. I'll take my chances and give Greg Miller a chance to review it.

I know that those two would be ideal to completely trash Battle of Z but the game does have a couple of positive aspects so it's not all bad.

P.S.: Here's a video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhtcU4YDqOE (the guy sounds constipated though)

Aw dude that's just inappropriate.

But anyhow, now that you own it what do you have to say about it?

+ Sound effects make whaling on your enemies much more satisfying. Very good quality compared to Tenkaichi 3's muffled sound effects.
+ Card system is helpful, and adds a bit more depth to the game.
+ Flow's Cha-La-Head-Cha-La and the opening animation are great.
+/- The game is pretty damn hard
- Ally A.I. is dumb as hell. "Oh, you need to be revived? Okay, I'll just stand over you and do absolutely nothing."
- Several missions restrict about 90% of your character roster
- Character models still look a bit off

Haven't played online yet.

People have informed Namco Bandai on their Facebook about it but NB needs more proof to assume it's a hack.

NB can't get a break. :P

But then I won't be able to unlock SSJ2 Gohan.

Also, does anyone know how to unlock mission 50?
