Wow, the animation looks horrible. Much planning, Toei Animation.

I was waiting for someone to bring that up. Champa and fem!Whis look really badly drawn and Beerus' fighting that weird Shisami look-a-like was awful stuff.

Can't say it dampens my excitement. I'm still buzzing over plot details.

I thought the cut with Vegeta training was just as bad, if not worse. You can tell this series is going to have a very small number of drawings allowed per episode. With how little money is being made from television revenue these days I'm not surprised, but if would be nice if the episode directors at least tried to apply the majority of their drawings to the battle scenes. If episodes weren't being tossed together in one or two months there would probably be enough time for the staff to wrap their head around how to best utilize drawings. That's not going to happen any time soon, though.

If this is a retelling then that's just going to make the more "canon" crazy fanboys heads explode. In all seriousness though, would that mean we should treat the recent films as a "side story" even those they originally were advertised as not being such?

Hmm. We'll have to wait and see, I guess. They'll probably make some kind of allusion to it at some point, probably when Super is actually coming out and contradicting the movies. Something like, "This is the version of the story we've decided to go forwards with--so of course, please still enjoy every version of Dragon Ball! We hope you'll join us for the definitive version of the future adventures of Son Goku and friends!" Or similar.

(If it is a retelling, anyway.)

Pretty much all the other movies were non canon so if Super overwrites BoG and RoF and becomes successful the movies will probably be easily forgotten.

If this shows a lot of Beerus destroying worlds, and more of Goku and the rests' lives like the trailer shows, it's gonna be way better than GT. I like the animation a lot, too.

Just watched the trailer and half of it was recycled from the 15 second trailer we previously got. Oh, well.

Fat Beerus is also a lot cuter than I thought he would be and I'm still eager to see Fem Whis in action.

Pretty happy that so many characters appeared in the trailer. Goku and Goten watching the sunset is nice. Don't really mind the probable retelling, they just need to keep the essential elements like the 12 universes.

I wonder if they'll broadcast Battle of Gods after a couple of weeks to try and slot things it into a continuity (or buy then another week of production time) instead of re-telling the plot entirely.

If the stories run along side each other, with Super covering scenes not shown in BoG, then showing the movie would cause the story to back track and throw off the flow of it, so I don't think they'll do that. I think the two story paths will eventually converge, probably at the point where Goku and Beerus fight, and we'll see a much longer battle between them, with the Z fighters getting more involved, and also with scenes of Champa watching the whole thing from his universe and reacting.

But did anyone else notice the shot of Goku and Goten looking at the sunset? Seems like there's going to be some father-son bonding.

Edit: I see there's already some complaints about animation, even though we only saw a handful of shots (it doesn't represent the quality of the entire series).

I actually thought that exactly and feel pretty strong about that right now after the extended trailer. Mostly because of tracksuit Goku (sounds dumb, I know). In the beginning of BoG we see Goku in that outfit training with Kaiousama. The first few episodes may lead up to BoG, then I can see a special presentation of BoG via television, then a continuation of the season until the arc comes up to Fukkastu no F.
