"Saiyans children don't play; fighting is the closest thing they have to playing." Basically it's the same as with most animals. Playing during that age is just simulated fighting and serves as practice for hunting and stuff.
I think the S-cells and stuff related to Yamoushi might be the most interesting tidbits we're going to get from the interview, the rest seems pretty much in line with what most already thought about the saiyans.
Can we get a similar section about namekians? No matter how irrelevant they might be now, they still made the dragon balls and have access to mystical abilities.
Why power levels are important?
Spoiler:
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

Saiyans have trouble studying is interesting.
More goodies from Herms, mostly more information from what I posted earlier:

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

Good new, Piccolo's fans. He lives to fight another day.
Knew it. The fact that 119's title boasts about an elmination indicated that we haven't gotten one in a while.
But he probably wont survive this one.
The preview images mean nothing. Episode 106 had Piccolo and Gohan even though it was Tien's episode and episode 112 has Caulifa in it even though that episode was about Cabba. Episode 118 picture is Goku but the big fight is going to be Saonel and Pirina.

Interesting, but not really surprising. I couldn't really imagine saiyan kids sitting still and trying to learn Pythagoras theorem. Since they do have to operate high-tech machinery I guess they are forced to absorb some non-battle related information, but still....

18 has to be the favourite to go down.
Roshi was also the favorite to be the first one to go down, but they chose to spice things up a bit by having him do more than expected. This is nothing but speculation, but the fact that they look like they're vigilant/on guard might mean they sense that they're being targeted.
It's probably 18 going down since there doesn't seem to be much incentive for her to last any longer. I can't see her getting any major fight against anyone else and she got her screentime.
Piccolo still needs his big moment, or he is Tien 2.0.

That's what 118 might be for...
You know that Gohan is going to play a big part though. 17 was more of an assistant to 18 in episode 117.
Piccolo can bring a lot more to this tournament then 18 can and she is injured and in that picture Piccolo looks completely fine.
The Weekly Shonen Jump never mentioned a particular fighter in it which means that all of Universe 7 will probably be in it.
Everything points to 18. She has had more fights, more eliminations, more screen time, is injured and is weaker than Piccolo.
Roshi had not really done anything by the time Krillin went out and when Tien went out we knew Roshi couldn't last much longer as he nearly died in episode 105.

Not denying that 18 seems to be the logical choice, but that's just it. It seems just a little too obvious for it to be her, so that's why I'm anxious.

What I am thinking is why would they attack Piccolo? I just can't imagine why Quitela would do that. Piccolo could always get dragged into it but we will have to see.
I generally think whoever goes out is not even going to go out with a proper fight and will go out like Krillin did.

.
My guess is that he'd be tired and vulnerable after his fight with U6, and Gohan might not be at 100% anymore either. 18 has 17 helping her. Or maybe they target Piccolo because they see him as the thinker of the group ( since 118 seems to be highlighting him as such again ) and their power has weakness they don't want him figuring out or something like that.

Attack the person who could you think could work you out? Shouldn't you not be attacking him.
All I am going to say is that it better not be Piccolo since he has done the least. As I have said before, no character has had 2 episodes focused on them apart from Goku so going on that logic it won't be Gohan and Piccolo focused in episode 119.
We all know it is unlikely and we don't want it to happen but that Piccolo on the rock could be fused with Saonel and Pirina and also maybe has this unlimted regeneration to use.

Attack him before he gets to figure it out. Anyway, it's just an idea.

Don't think the writing staff/Toriyama has been keeping score of who has done what. And I doubt the episode would focus on the 'victim' or their elimination, but rather on the power U4 just demonstrated. The one who just got eliminated will probably just be there to serve as incentive for those who remain in the ring.

Highly unlikely, I'm afraid. And to be honest, I also don't think that the unlimited regeneration mentioned in the preview will be as important as some believe.

A character who has only has one schtick, constantly fights stronger opponents and gets their asses kicked, and despite being so weak have lasted longer than they should have. Main difference is that one is liked and the other is hated, granted one did show up a lot more than the other. Still rooting for Pepsi Man to knock somebody out or at the very least go out in a blaze of glory.
I feel like there is some sort of charm to Katopesla that Ribrianne didn't have and that is why people like him better. I can't place my finger on it though
Well recently for the police man character A decent amount fans seem to like he’s punching Vegeta, so for some that gained him some funny points.
As I have always said about Ribrianne she gets more love by what I have seen around the internet then gets noticed cause they are not as vocal as the dislikers. But the dislikers aren’t as big as they seem to be.
Ribrianne gets more love and respect then many might think and I try to make sure to make this known.
I will not lie, i did like her character when she was first introduced and i liked her character again when she wasn't a sore loser.
I think they just flanderized her too much because she was obviously meant to be more than just a gag. she was probably meant to be like the ginyu force, funny but you know they could kill you with finger snap.

Something is happening with Saonel and Pirina with that aura and pictures of other Namekians. It will bullshit if unlimited regeneration is nothing after mentioning it in the preview.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Well, at least Toriyama is self aware of how stupidly broken the biology of the Saiyans are.

Saiyans not being good at studies yet Gohan becomes a scholar, that's some major achievement..
He actually must have shown signs of being a genius, ChiChi being hell bent on him studying wasn't for nothing it seems..
Him being having the most potential and growing faster than anyone fits too.. As for Goten, he went SS because a mastered SS with tons of S cells was his dad, Gohan had no such benefit yet he transformed when pushed, that finally solves how does Goten not have more potential than Gohan argument for me..

Well he's half human so the studies thing isn't really shocking. If Goku or Vegeta became scholars, that would be weird.
