"If you want to become as strong as a Saiyan... make a wish with the Dragon Balls."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Well, at least Toriyama is self aware of how stupidly broken the biology of the Saiyans are.
I'd love it if the non-Saiyan main characters actually made that wish, then got a sudden massive power boost from all the "overdue" zenkai boosts they would have gotten over the years.
I reckon Krillin and Piccolo in particular would skyrocket. Those guys were on Namek, they've been put through the works.

He actually must have shown signs of being a genius, ChiChi being hell bent on him studying wasn't for nothing it seems..
Him being having the most potential and growing faster than anyone fits too.. As for Goten, he went SS because a mastered SS with tons of S cells was his dad, Gohan had no such benefit yet he transformed when pushed, that finally solves how does Goten not have more potential than Gohan argument for me..
His only half Saiyan and the only people who find that as an achievement is Chichi and Videl. The rest don't give a crap about it.

Piccolo's power up must be somewhere in the Namekians Book of Legends.
I just hope that Piccolo and Gohan take out an Namekian each and get treated to a decent battle.

I just want someone to get eliminated already. I don't care which of them it is. But at this point I expect we'll get to the showdown against Universe 11 with at least 5 U7 members left so they can get fodderized by Jiren so that we can once again gasp in awe at how powerful he is.
A wish on the Dragon Balls? Why not just have the non-Saiyan characters actually be given the same opportunities as the Saiyans, Toriyama? They're in that meagre condition because you facilitated it by withholding tools and avenues for improving themselves after the Freeza arc. I'm not denying that the Saiyans have an inherent advantage with all of their zenkais and transformations, but there's nothing holding back the earthlings and Piccolo from taking some obvious steps like harnessing god ki somehow and acquiring the Kaioken. In fact, Piccolo alone would have likely retained his competitive edge in the Buu arc amongst unfused characters (not counting Ultimate Gohan) if he had been equipped with Kaioken.

Exactly, and god ki isn't saiyan exclusive, so there's nothing stopping non-saiyans from obtaining it. Besides, I know it's just a joke, but the dragon balls aren't even supposed to be able to grant more power, unless he means wishing to change your race to a saiyan or something.

Sorry to join the party here, but I was surprised about the Original SSJ being named Yamoshi. Looks to me Gohan, who is an half-breed Saiyan, has some scholar traits inside him while Goku and Vegeta lacks some education.
Jelo Gutierrez Cantos(Dr. Fresh) I'M GONNA BREAK YOU, LIKE A KIT-KAT BAR!! - TFS Goku. (have a Break, have a Kit Kat Freeza!)
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

I hope they both lose and then Goku and Vegeta comes to save the day
I hope they both lose as well and then Freeza comes to save the day again.
The meltdown, to either of those scenarios, would be hysterical.
