Is the 2nd "kami" in the title supposed to be Uisu? Even though the chozenshuu mentions him as an assistant to Birusu, similar to Mr. Popo or Kibito (neither of whom I've ever seen referred to as a "kami") I can't think of who else the second one in the title would be. One of them is Birusu, obviously...I feel like they're probably not talking about Kaio-sama or Dende since they're using "and" instead of "vs" so presumably it's someone on the same side as Birusu? Is it referring to a kaioshin even though none of them have been shown in the promotional material so far? I dunno. I'm just throwing ideas around while I wait for a plot update.

The phrase "battle of gods" itself makes me think that there's two gods fighting, so who else could the 2nd one be?

Goku himself would technically be a "god" if he hadn't decided to fly off and get hitched instead after the 23rd tournament.

That's true. I can see why Goku did what he did. I imagine he doesn't have the patience/attention span to remain up on the lookout for life like that.

It's still got me wondering if he gets a "godly" power-up somehow in this movie (even if-only temporary) and the second "kami" is referring to Goku post-power-up.

My guesses are the 2nd one is either Uisu, Goku, or a kaioshin.

The fact that Gokuu chose Chichi over Popo, who could have just as easily fed him if Gokuu became God, is direct proof Gokuu have a sex drive. Well, aside from those two kids he's got...


Uh...well, then again, I would offer he's still much a god...who lives on Earth. So yeah, I would offer that the title does refer to Gokuu in part.

I'm still partial to the idea that Whis will not remain Billy's ally for the entirety of the movie, and that Billy will end up siding with the heroes in the end and clashing with his former assistant/partner in some way. The way they're keeping Whis wrapped up in mystery just SCREAMS "he's the true villain!"

I'm still partial to the idea that Whis will not remain Billy's ally for the entirety of the movie, and that Billy will end up siding with the heroes in the end and clashing with his former assistant/partner in some way. The way they're keeping Whis wrapped up in mystery just SCREAMS "he's the true villain!"

I also think there's a good possibility of this being true. Someone on 2ch mentioned a little while back by comparing most of the past DB/Z movie posters that the majority of them have the real villain of film dead-center in the background (where Uisu is floating).
The movies where this is true are:
DB: 1, 3
Z: 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12.

Edit - Also, Do you folks think we'll ever get another sad moment in the Dragonball movies/specials ever again?(When Trunks finds Gohan laying in a puddle of water dead!) I wonder if this new movie will have anything like that?

Unless we get a back-story special, I don't think so. Even though Toriyama's writing and they're really pushing the idea that it's a part of the Dragon Ball history, I highly doubt he'd kill off anyone we'd care about.

Atm it's Japan-only. I do think it was strange how they originally had an "English" page and "Japanese" page before the movie title proper was revealed; it made me think "international" at the time.

I guess it all comes down to if FOX can play nice with the international dubbing companies (Funi, Ocean, etc.) considering future dubbings and international releases. Also Toei/Shueisha's role in all this too.

It makes me wonder if the dubbing fell through and they decided to not release it internationally. Which would make me cry.

Depending on how it would be pulled off and what characters would be involved, a sad moment in the movie could really really grab my attention. *_*

Sorry friend..I try not venture into this topic a-lot that way I don't spoil the movie. I guess I shouldn't be asking about a new trailer because that would be spoiling the movie.
But ''IF'' they decide to maybe kill off a character, I hope they do it in the style of ''The history of trunks'' to this day I don't like watching that scene it makes me feel bad
