I still can't shake the feeling that something's off about it, though. Just from the look of the different, more sophisicated models and the entirely different game engine, it really seems highly unlikely it was done by them, at least not entirely. I mean, considering how cheap and small time they were, it seems odd that they'd manage to pump out an entirely new and more polished looking game from the ground up for the arcades while they were still busy working on some of their ps3 titles around the same time, and they were not nearly as refined as ZBR looked. It must have been a pain to produce Tenkaichi Tag Team around the same time as it was, but ZBR as well? It doesn't seem to fit given what kind of company Spike was.JeffJarrett wrote:Dimps wasn't credited for Dragon Ball Heroes, yet we know it's them. It seems the same for ZBR. You can't tell for sure it's not Spike.
People began to guess ZBR was developed by Spike from the very beginning. And now recent games seem to confirm they were right.
Considering the difference in quality between their RB/UT games and ZBR, it'd make more sense if it went into production at least after Spike merged with Chunsoft, but from what I understand, the merger didn't happen until much, much later. It's possible that they were given a much larger budget to work with, but even so, with how they were already busy with other titles, it still seems odd that they'd manage to get another game done as well. Perhaps it was a joint venture with some Bandai Namco team?
