Cell was a cool idea, but a boring villain. Only his voice actors in both the sub and dub made him remotely interesting. I remember a lot of people who read the manga were surprised by how dry Cell was without a vocal performance.Artorias wrote: I don't know...Cell is actually relatively interesting to me. And even then, Omega Shenron and Super 17 AT LEAST had the benefit of having cool designs and attacks. Jiren not only lacks personality, but he also lacks a design. He's just a generic alien in a red jumpsuit. There's quite literally NOTHING to latch onto with his character.
It's just strange that after coming off of some of the BEST villains this franchise has ever seen in Black and Zamasu, we immediately pivot the other direction with this joke of a "character".
Super 17's design was horrible. Like, ew. Omega Shenron, his design was okay, but other Shadow Dragons looked better than him.
Jiren is interesting to me since I want to know what he's about and he seems to be hiding something. And Jiren isn't a 'villain' or even the 'main antagonist'. He's more or less the dragon like Hit was in the Champa Saga.
