I have to admit I wasn't sure myself, I just had the impression there had to be something in between his fight with 17 and this- and then I remembered: his fight in the ROF movie. The rof movie bit was outstanding yes, but I was talking about super, where that role was reduced to him getting an arm torn off and his bits blown off..Michsi wrote:I have to admit I wasn't sure myself, I just had the impression there had to be something in between his fight with 17 and this- and then I remembered: his fight in the ROF movie. Well you mentioned his fight with 17 which happened in Z so I assumed you meant the franchise in general.Ki Breaker wrote:The rof movie bit was outstanding yes, but I was talking about super, where that role was reduced to him getting an arm torn off and his bits blown off..Michsi wrote:I have to admit I wasn't sure myself, I just had the impression there had to be something in between his fight with 17 and this- and then I remembered: his fight in the ROF movie. Then there was his bout with Gohan in Super, which may not have been as impressive as other, but he did do considerable damage to a fighter that had been previously considered way beyond his limits.
This arc has been good to him, or at least better than GT and the first two Super arcs combined. Not perfect by any means, and his last stand in the ring did put a damper on my appreciation of the whole tournament, but they've given him plenty if people stop and think about it. With Gohan, 17, and Freeza being brought back, never mind Goku and Vegeta, I found it amazing they let him do so much and stay so long. Not to mention they gave him what was possibly the most emotionally weighty mini sub-plot out of everyone (for now)
Eveyone's been talking about this Jump Festa- is it usual that they spoil upcoming arcs there? Did that happen last year too? Do we know who's invited ?

I don't care too much about piccolo, but ignoring rof the movie because of taking into consideration the retellings, this fight is the only one since 17 that I legitimately felt his raw power and skill in..Michsi wrote:Well you mentioned his fight with 17 which happened in Z so I assumed you meant the franchise in general.Ki Breaker wrote:The rof movie bit was outstanding yes, but I was talking about super, where that role was reduced to him getting an arm torn off and his bits blown off..Michsi wrote:

As for how he has been treated, I have no horse in that race..

And I'm honestly happy you and others think that - means he left a pretty positive impression, which is good. Some people thought there would be some massive spilling of salt after his elimination, but it looks like the salt ran out before the episode even aired. Again, looking back at some of the predictions regarding his role in this arc, I am happy he did as much as he did.Ki Breaker wrote:I don't care too much about piccolo, but ignoring rof the movie because of taking into consideration the retellings, this fight is the only one since 17 that I legitimately felt his raw power and skill in..Michsi wrote:Well you mentioned his fight with 17 which happened in Z so I assumed you meant the franchise in general.Ki Breaker wrote: The rof movie bit was outstanding yes, but I was talking about super, where that role was reduced to him getting an arm torn off and his bits blown off..

And I think he'll still have a part to play somehow given that Gohan, with whom he trained, is still in the ring. Possibly that they'll switch focus mostly on the Gohan-Goku dynamic now ,but still.

Sounds intense. Is this the episode after the Vegeta one? If so, then Vegeta might be getting two, because title reads like something he might pull off.Liquir wrote:DBS Episode 123 Title

Yeah, Vegeta is 122. My first impression is that it's referring to either full-power Ultra Instinct or Maximum JirenMichsi wrote: Sounds intense. Is this the episode after the Vegeta one? If so, then Vegeta might be getting two, because title reads like something he might pull off.

My guess is vegeta, since jiren only has to use 1% to humiliate ssb vegeta.BlueBasilisk wrote:Yeah, Vegeta is 122. Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
But why does this have to happen at all? I never took the UI Vegeta rumors seriously and I'm hoping this isn't the case here. I never once complained about Vegeta not getting SSJ3 or that he didn't (still doesn't in the anime) have SSG except for the fact that his obtainment of SSB didn't make sense without it. He doesn't need to have every transformation and skill Goku has and it would be nice if he had something uniquely his own.Kenneth La Torre wrote:My guess is vegeta, since jiren only has to use 1% to humiliate ssb vegeta.BlueBasilisk wrote:Yeah, Vegeta is 122. If this is in fact a unique trait to Vegeta it would completely flip my opinion of this arc and Super.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Is Jiren or Goku.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
This is getting interesting... and kinda weird. I know it's just a provisional title and is subject to change, but I am, and I'm sure plenty of people are, left wondering what it's referring to. Could it be Vegeta? Right now I don't see how at all, but no one else I can think of would really fit the bill. Jiren? I don't see why he needs to power up. And we don't know what anyone else is doing at that time, so we have no reason to believe (or not believe, actually) that it's Goku, Gohan or someone else.Liquir wrote:DBS Episode 123 title

I think Vegeta will unlock UI, mostly because it was foreshadowed in the manga, there might not explain if he surpasses Goku like how there was no explanation when Goku used SSJG again.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
It's either referring to Vegeta and him gaining some kind of immense power-up (won't say whether it's UI or not since some people absolutely hate the idea of him getting it for some reason) or it's referring to Jiren being forced to use his full power.
I doubt it refers to anybody else, especially since we know the previous episode entails Vegeta fighting the strongest, which is obviously Jiren.

I doubt is jiren as well. Either vegeta, or vegeta gets knocked out in 122, and goku goes full power in 123Birusu16 wrote:It's either referring to Vegeta and him gaining some kind of immense power-up (won't say whether it's UI or not since some people absolutely hate the idea of him getting it for some reason) or it's referring to Jiren being forced to use his full power.

I want this to be for Vegeta but I don't want to get my hopes up as it also makes sense for it to be Jerin if Goku, Vegeta, Gohan & Freeza gang up on him.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Jiren hiding not one, not two, not three but four transformations will be my bet..sintzu wrote:I want this to be for Vegeta but I don't want to get my hopes up as it also makes sense for it to be Jerin if Goku, Vegeta, Gohan & Freeza gang up on him.

Considering that Kefla surpassed TV Special UI Goku, then it makes sense Vegeta surpasses that version of UI Goku as well.

When they mentioned that UI Goku in episode 116 was stronger than TV Special UI Goku?
iirc It was Piccolo who mentioned it.
