"Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I guess calling it "Dragon Ball Super" would make sense if it really is about a retelling of BOG (and F?) which would involve super saiyajin god and blueper saiyan.
This is all so strange though; I don't know anyone who saw it coming if we really are doing the extended extended cut of the films.
I really do wanna see Gokû and Vegeta surviving each other living at Beerus and Whis' place post-BOG. :3

What if the breakfast/meal happened after the planet destruction. Beerus wakes up. Whis tells him there is a planet ready for destruction they destroy it and go back home and eat while discussing the prophecy.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Chapter 1 has Whis constantly surprised.UpFromTheSkies wrote:They didn't react like they'd never heard it before, not in the translation I read.
First Beerus mentions being reminded of "him" from his (prophetic) dream, and Whis seems surprised to hear that Beerus had a dream about something. Continue on with the next exchange having Beerus explain about the guy named Super Saiyan God, and Whis repeats it like he's never heard of it before.
None of this would really make sense if they already talked about his prophetic dream at that breakfast.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
But Beerus is in his pajamas while having breakfast. Why would he get up, dress up, destroy a planet then return to get back into his pajamas to have breakfast? Only to dress up again, lol.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:What if the breakfast/meal happened after the planet destruction. Beerus wakes up. I want training sessions. Put Vegeta and Goku in a planet full of strong beasts(in another Universe), they fight for the bigger pray like Zoro and Sanji did in Little Garden and end it in a cooking contest.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
There is a very logical progression of events in the film:
- Whis wakes up Beerus
Whis tells Beerus to take a bath
Whis prepares breakfast for Beerus (who is in a robe)
Beerus discusses his prophetic dream and Super Saiyan God
Whis thinks Beerus' dream is wrong, because they always are
Beerus and Whis go visit the Yogengyo
Beerus and Whis discuss the Saiyans, then go to Kaio's

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I guess it's possible, but why would he be in his pajamas again? I think it's more likely they spent a long time visiting different planets and destroying them before Beerus remembers SSG again. The official twitter, I believe, also mentions there being multiple planets destroyed, and that would take time.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:What if the breakfast/meal happened after the planet destruction. So, the trailer that aired after Kai this week truly was identical to the one that got posted online? Nothing different? No new text?
Truly?
How in God's name have we not gotten an episode title yet?

Toei obviously wanna keep as much details about the early plot of Super pretty descrete to entice more viewers into watching what could happen. It's a doubled edged sword as far as marketing and advertising is concerned. On one hand, by providing less of information of the plot you create a certain mystique about the show and that in turn create hype and anticipation from fans as to what could happen as they now real clue or indication. And the other hand, it could backfire with fans feeling agitated by the lack of news and feeling less intrigued about the premise of Super because they don't have much details of the plot to determine if the show would be worth their time.MagicBox wrote:So, the trailer that aired after Kai this week truly was identical to the one that got posted online? Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I was just about to ask that in the Kai episode thread if there was anything new in the preview like an episode name lol... well only reasoning I can up with is it is simply going to be episode 1, 2, 3 etcMagicBox wrote:So, the trailer that aired after Kai this week truly was identical to the one that got posted online? Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Will Goku mention something about his new found godly powers in Kai last episode?
I don't know, they could retcon EoZ after all

All right, I'm done with all the E3 activities. Let's see what I missed. Hmmm, Goten couldn't possibly be drawn as even smaller then they just did, it also looks like we're not only only stuck in the 10-year period for good but already rehashing BOG & ROF. Boy oh boy, after 18 years they really did surprise us 'cause no one was exactly expecting this
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
"New show" previews aren't "next episode" previews, they don't say the first episode title, at least not in modern times.MagicBox wrote:So, the trailer that aired after Kai this week truly was identical to the one that got posted online? Nothing different? No new text?

We don't know the title because magazines with the July schedule aren't out yet, or at least didn't leak online. I don't think any series had titles revealed for the next month yet.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Go!Pri's next two episode titles just came out today. Maybe Super's will be soon?

No, no, nooo! Please tell me the entire series won't evolve around events already having been told :SChuquita wrote:I guess calling it "Dragon Ball Super" would make sense if it really is about a retelling of BOG (and F?) which would involve super saiyajin god and blueper saiyan.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I wonder if super will add new characters to the Z fighter team? or very least some new Good guys, similar to Jaco.
(also i really don't want to see Beerus/Whis become some Z fighters or anything similar.)

Jaco the Super Elite with The Great Saiyaman fighting crime for a spin-off series. Make it happen Toriyama
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
If a powerful enough foe comes along, i'd prefer to see them get evolved rather than sit on the sidelines being Gary Stus like they were in ROF, which is why i'm hoping Champa will be a villain in DBS.Ushabtis wrote:I wonder if super will add new characters to the Z fighter team? or very least some new Good guys, similar to Jaco.

Shida Naotoshi worked on One Piece Episode #699. This is his first credit outside of BANK animation for PreCure and the second World Trigger opening animation since March. This also means that outside of the unnamed work Shida was storyboarded all of his recent updates have come to pass. Here's hoping it's something for Dragon Ball Super!

I really like his shots for BoG, what it lacks in impact he's more than got it on fluidity.JulieYBM wrote:Shida Naotoshi worked on One Piece Episode #699.
