dubbing
[duhb-ing]
noun
1.
the act or process of furnishing a film or tape with a new sound track or adding music, sound effects, etc., to an existing one.

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/dubbing

dub 3 (dŭb)
tr.v. dubbed, dub·bing, dubs
1.
a. To transfer (recorded material) onto a new recording medium.
b. To copy (a record or tape).
2. To insert a new soundtrack, often a synchronized translation of the original dialogue, into (a film).
3. To add (sound) into a film or tape: dub in strings behind the vocal.
n.
1. The new sounds added by dubbing.
2. A dubbed copy of a tape or record.
3. A mostly instrumental style of music originating in Jamaica, produced by remixing existing recordings to emphasize drum and bass rhythms and adding audio effects.

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/dubbing

"Dubbing, mixing, or re-recording is a post-production process used in filmmaking and video production in which additional or supplementary recordings are "mixed" with original production sound to create the finished soundtrack.

The process usually takes place on a dub stage. After sound editors edit and prepare all necessary tracks (dialogue, automated dialogue replacement (ADR), effects, Foley, and music), the dubbing mixer or mixers proceed to balance all of the elements and record the finished soundtrack. Dubbing is sometimes confused with ADR, also known as "additional dialogue replacement",[1][2][3] "additional dialogue recording", and "looping",[4][5] in which the original actors re-record and synchronize audio segments.

Outside the film industry, the term "dubbing" most commonly refers to the replacement of the voices of the actors shown on the screen with those of different performers speaking another language, which is called "revoicing" in the film industry."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubbing_(filmmaking)

Technically, we can argue that, unlike a live action movie where part of the sounds are captured as the video is being made, in an animation, all the sounds are made separately and then added to the video, which can be viewed as an entire act of dubbing.

But, obviously, normally people just refer to Dubs or Dubbing when it's not the original audio.

I respectfully disagree, the cell/android arc is the worst thing to come out of Toriyama's mind, many people may like it. But the whole arc is just one gigantic convoluted, plot hole ridden, ass pull ridden mess, characters also had the tendency to drop and gain new personality's during it. Most notably Cell and Gohan. It was of course entertaining. But quality wise it was abysmal

It also helps that unlike every Dragon Ball villain ever, he doesn't throw a genericbitch fit when things don't go his way, he's always laughing, always coming off like he's in-control and this already sets him apart from Freeza, Cell, Boo, and Piccolo. Even his reaction to Vegeta beating him is very understated and he quickly recovers from it.

I think several lines in Funi's original script were better than what they did in Kai, particularly in the Cell Games arc. In fact, some of them were more accurate to the subs than what they did in Kai as well.

In particular, I think the episode where Cell dies is lame compared to the original:
Tien: Sorry Krillin, but it's just not my style to wait for death without putting up a decent fight!
Yamcha: Because you're a man of honor...and a little pig-headed.
Tien: Maybe so, but I've always liked the sound of that honor excuse more.
vs.
Tien: What's worse: dying, or standing here doing nothing while Gohan is out there all alone, fighting to protect us?
Yamcha: Yeah, this sittin' on the sidelines thing does knock the old pride.
Tien: Yes it does. We have nothing to lose. And I want to know I gave it my all.
Cell: This must be hard for you with all those wounds. I'm sure this makes them BURN!
vs.
Cell: Good. You're fighting through the agony far better than I would've expected!
Cell: Say goodbye!
vs.
Cell: Say hi to dad! (ugh)
Cell: I'M PERFEEEECT!!
vs.
Cell: This can't be...! I AM PERFECTIOOOOON!!
The original has more personality and is more memorable. Kai just isn't as catchy. Kai's voice acting is better and it doesn't change anyone's character like the old one did (thank god) but I think Christopher Sabat really dropped the ball when it came to the script. He sacrificed color for accuracy.

But the Cell Saga had the most improvement along with the Buu Saga for the original dub. Its easy to like stuff from that era. Try some Season 3 and see if there's stuff to like.

Present adult Goten was a better character than adult Trunks in GT.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

To be honest, I might be the only one that actually likes Merged Zamasu, especially at the end of the arc. Many people dislike him because he's often prone to psychotic outbursts, maniacal and destructive behavior and claim him to be "generic" as other villains. Ironically, Merged Zamasu becoming more insane and deranged mentally as he starts to collapse in appearance simultaneously is just what makes him all the more great, at least in my own eyes. We saw how his arrogance of not using enough power to finish Goku and co. off lead to his "beauty" being disfigured and we essentially saw how he devolves from this graceful and elegant looking God to more of a barbaric and hideous monstrosity no different from the evil mortals he so claimed as the bane of his existence. This over-the-top maniacal version of Zamasu is completely unrecognizable from when we first saw of him (Zamasu's new form looks more comparable to the Barbarian he presumably first killed) and it just further accentuates on the fact that Zamasu truly fell from grace. And to top it all off, Shinichirou Miki's beastly and unhinged voice just further amplifies all that which is a good thing for me since I thought his voice for regular Zamasu was quite meh imo.

a lot of people like merged Zamasu. Especially R63 Zamasu, who's leagues above any dragon ball women. But I enjoy R63 Zamasu, he's just such a beautifully ironic character. Especially his fall from grace.

The thing that makes me think RoF is the worst of them all the most is the harm it does to Freeza's character.I get it,he wants revenge and he trains in order to be ready for the battle. But he is doomed to fail from the very beginning. He doesn't master his form which is eventually his downfall and doesn't take his chance to kill Goku when he could just because he felt the urge to give Vegeta the pleasure.I love Freeza,I really do but that movie just made a fool out of an already drained out villain.

Boo was the best villain. Particular Evil Boo (Super Buu). He was a nice parallel to Goku, a being who want's to fight and eat delicious food more than anything else, but EVIL ! To bad Toriyama didn't utilize the character proper...
GT wasn't that bad

Boo in general was very unique but I think that he started to lose points when Kid Boo appeared.Fat Boo was very funny and when he expelled the evil out of him,it was a pretty obvious conflict between good & evil. When Super Boo was formed then I felt he was the best Boo could become as a villain. His absorbtion technique may be unoriginal but it added much needed personality to him.Kid Boo was the weakest of them all, just a force of nature wanting to destroy everything in its path.

I wouldn't call his absorbtion unoriginal. No one in the series had a similar technique except Cell, which by the way he really absorbed #17 and #18 to achieve his Perfect Form while he ate any other potential victim. I completely agree on the Kid Boo part.

I called it unoriginal because the previous big villain (Cell) had absorbtion at his disposal, although as you rightly say he only absorbed the Androids to achieve perfection.Boo's absorbtion was not his cause of living, just a way of survival,so I guess that's different.
