FUNimation just made public the DB movies 1-4 remastered in HD so it's not yet known about the series.

Could they have Japanese title cards like they did for singles?

Do they still offer that at all for any current FUNimation release?

I doubt that they'll get included, since that would mean having to add an alternate angle, which in turn would increase the space each episode would take, right?

An alternate angle of about 4 seconds... and it's a still image. The alternate angles don't run the entire length of the episode (with the exception of 'Captain Ginyu: Assault' DVD).

My bad then. I once had to rip a backup of a DVD with alternate angles and I ended up with two different streams which ran for the entire length, so I thought that it was that way.

Seeing how Japanese title credits are a thing of the past for FUNimation release on their modern releases it's unlikely that they bring it back, and to FUNi's defence, they make the English text look pretty decent so I don't might the Japanese credit not being included (as is the case with the Kai, Yu Yu Hakusho and etc).

It's not bad. Its a little annoying when the narraror reads the title in Japanese and it's not the same title as the english episode lol

I am currently watching the Dragon Ball Kai series blu-rays from Funimation, and I was watching the episode where goku fights Android 19. At the end of the episode, Goku is in real trouble as Android 19 starts sucking the power out of him. In the story, as you all remember, Vegeta arrives and saves Goku by kicking the Android in the face. But as suprising as it seems, in the kai episode, they completely skipped this part!!! The episode ends on a view of Goku getting his energy zapped, so I went to the next episode and we never see vegeta kicking the android! This is completely ridiculous, when the next episode starts off, we see vegeta standing next to Goku's body and the android is laying unconscious somewhere else. They completely cut off the actual clip where Vegeta does the saving, so we have to guess what happened in between the episodes. What I did is I took out my brand new Funimation Blu ray Seasons and popped in season 4 so I could see the deleted scene. This was the first time I watched the new Seasons Blu-rays, and man the quality was awful!!!!! I had been watching Kai and when I went to the Seasons Blu-ray the difference was enormous, there is something wrong with season 4, i don't know if its only that specific episode, but the new blu-rays are awful. The colors where all off and there was so much grain in the image, i couldn't believe this was a new release... Are all the other Seasons blu-rays like this???

Regarding Kai, the scene is there, it's after the recap, but before the Opening :) Sometimes Kai did this with certain episodes. That's why I fast forward them, rather than using the Skip button, or atleast re-wind slightly before the opening to make sure I didn't miss anything.

How are they going to handle a non-multiple angle release when Sleeping Princess has a completely different order in the dub (unless a redub is in order....)
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

Wait, what? What do you mean? The footage is the same as the original. :eh:

Nope. I did a review on the movie. You can find it here on the forums. The order of the intro is different, plus, FUNI uses Gotta Find Them All (the Ocean intro) for the film. The Japanese version has the prologue then the intro whereas the English version is done like a normal episode if I'm not mistaken (or it's vice versa I forget). Whatever the case, it is done in a different order.

Seemless Branching.

You'll find the video would be split into segments. A lot, if not ALL, of the Dragon Ball Z DVDs are like this already. Think of it like a Windows Media Playlist.. you select your files, add them to the playlist in a certain order, then hit play. DVDs are made up the same way. Once one file ends, it has a code to tell it to jump to another segment.

Seemless Branching is used when ever you have multiple versions of one film, on one disc (Avatar Extended Edition Blu-Ray, has THREE versions of the film on the first disc).

I've seen the movie, and there was no trace of the Ocean theme. It uses the Japanese intro (yes, not even the English Makafushigi Adventure for some reason) but with a noticeably choppy framerate. The prologue and title card are before the intro. The ending is Romantic Ageru Yo in Japanese, with English credits present.

Are you sure you're not referring to an older release? This is what's on the Movie Pack.

He is talking about the 'Dragon Ball: Movie Box'.

It also includes the Japanese version, in it's correct order. For that DVD, it has two complete video tracks.

Yeah, FUNimation went back and fixed the second Dragon Ball movie for the "movie 4-pack" that got released a few years ago. It's no longer paired with the old English opening or anything like that. Alternate angles would work for it now.

Framerate is abysmal, though. I can still barely stand to look at it. It's desperately in need of a re-release.
