Budokai 3 Confirmation
Playing as SSJ4, your ki bar seemed to increase but it decreases by just 1 point! Either it's a support cap. or SSJ4's special thing!

It's called 'Base line Ki'. Even transformed your Ki wont drain below that level and if you use a Ki attack that knocks you below it'll fill back up to that level.

I've been pouring over some demo's lately (unfortunately no screen shots to show) and have discovered a few interesting tid-bits.
Broli (and presumably everyone) can be used in Dragon Universe. In a video I saw, Broli was flying across the world map, in his legendary form. He can even speed up with his huge aura.
Dr. Gero has finally been confirmed as a playable character.
Hm...well, I guess those are the only two. But they're still cool.

Brolly playable in the Dragon Universe? Does he even know what a Dragonball ball is? Could he even UNDERSTAND the concept?
Brolly looks funny fighting with martial arts attacks, considering all he did during the entirety of movie 8 was clothesline everybody. Over. And over. Again.
The screenshot revealing Vegeta flying over Planet Namek has me more interested than ever in the game. Does this mean sadistic GTA style tomfoolery, bullying, and mischief? Only time will tell...
I'd rather they put in Roshi or even Zarbon instead of Omega Shenron. He looks like a scrapped He-man villian design.

That same magazine has a screen shot of the charachter select screen.Deus ex Machina wrote:I have an update on the whole DU thing.
Before I said that Broli was playable in DU, and other characters would be too. Now according to a french gaming magazine, only 11 characters will be playable in DU. So far, the only known characters are: Goku, Vegeta, and Broli.

It shows:

Kid Gohan
"Teen"(Not really) Gohan
Gohan
Vegeta
Kuririn
Piccolo
Tenshinhan
Yamcha
Broli

We know that Goku is playable, so, we already know 10 charachters. There's only 1 unknown.
OBS: YAY! The Humans and Piccolo kicked some Sayans out of the Dragon Universe!

Hmm. I don't really like this idea. What I liked about B1 and 2 is the fact you had to watch your energy when you transform/power up. If you released a huge attack, you had to make sure you'd be able to get back some energy to keep the powered up form. But I assume if you hit the ground below that base line, you'll power done/revert back to your original form.Xyex wrote:It's called 'Base line Ki'. Any news about the What If Fusions? I really liked Tiencha in DBZB2 but was dissapointed no more were used. I'd personaly like to see the imfamous Kururin/Piccolo fusion and the Goku/Gohan earring fusion.
Everytime I use Yamcha, my brothers tend to block the Wolf Fang Fist and strike before the final blow! My younger brother is some sort of freak in winning fighting games so ridiculously good! Or maybe more than that ...Izlude wrote:In B1 and B2 Yamcha was the best because you can combo into his Wolf Fang Fist, and every Wolf Fang Fist hit gains you back some ki

But transformations were useless in Budokai 1 and 2... some support capsules gave more attack power with no ki draining. The only reason someone would equip a transformation in the old Budokais would be to be able to use an ultimate, but, in B3, they may be more useful.Caracal wrote: Hmm. I don't really like this idea. I personally like the baseline ki concept. Instead of SSJ3 being something that you'd have for about three seconds, it actually becomes, as Gamepro said, "a force to be reckoned with."
Gamepro sucks, though. Forget I quoted it.

I have some mixed feelings on the "base line Ki" thing too; since in the show there is a few times when getting knocked around enough caused characters to revert back (This happens to Vegeta a lot I think). At the same time, the opposite held true as well, since in many cases they didn't revert back until knocked unconsious.
On the other hand, it was a real bitch trying to maintain SSJ3 in Budokai 2. Plus Cell and Freeza transforming back down doesn't make a lot of sense, since their transformations weren't something that needed to be "maintained" like SSJ.
But over all, I think I'm just going to enjoy the advantage it gives me. Besides, most the enemies I fought were too stupid to use their transformations in battle anyways. It will certainly make SSJ4 easier.

Personally, I like baseline Ki. You can still wear out but, just like in the series, given the time you can recover. But ya, Freeza, Cell, and Cooler now too should be different. Their transformations should be permanant in general (but drain a little more Ki as compensation).
