I don't think craters would be that hard. Mainly because I've found ways to include them in my lame JS db-related projects (Still floundering on the edge of death). Things need to explode!

Well, depending on the number of outcomes to each fight... we could have a crazy amount of branches!
Lezee... Goku and Piccolo Vs Raditz: Goku no die.Goku dies. Goku dies and takes Raditz with him. Piccolo dies. Piccolo and Goku die.
Though I'm not really sure how team-ish fights of said variety would work... BT2 just used the swap-ness, right? *Thinks a Marvel Vs Capcom style "Make partner jump out and do a super" action would ... well... make sense*.

And surely someone should grab Raditz/kid Goku's tails / cut off Freeza's tail / chew on Buu's antennae / rip off #19's hands / find some way to lose bodyparts without it being an anoyingly over used effect.
Eep, this is getting dangerous. So one more and I'm done: Oozaru minus tail = no longer Oozaru.

I was just thinking about some of these branching story lines. When it comes to the movies, some people have brought up how these are what-if scenarios, such as, where certain characters did not die at the points in the main story where they did die. Could the developers of the game use the same idea and this is how unlocking movies work?

About the storylines branching, I just hope that they've really put a lot of work in to it, I mean, killing Vegeta on Earth with say, Piccolo or Gohan, will it mean Vegeta is absent forever?
Keep in mind that the one scan posted earlier about the Nappa battle confirmed that Tenshinhan can defeat Nappa (there are even 2 different outcomes, with a living or a dead Chaozu), but it also showed that the Piccolo/Gohan VS Nappa battle had no alternate outcomes at all. After starting that battle, either the player gets a Game Over or holds on until Goku's arrival.

Even so, I'll be surprised if the changes are carried to the next Saga. I think the player will need to finish the 'real' storyline to unlock the next one. However, the new scenarios that they've mentioned in the Developer Diary #2 might be unlocked through those some of the other paths.
Could the developers of the game use the same idea and this is how unlocking movies work?
That's a good idea... the early movies are perfectly follow ups for a scenario with no deaths (besides Vegeta's and Nappa's) in the Saiyan Saga.

Considering how we've seen a screenshot of the saga selection screen with no movies between Freeza's and Cell's, they might really be unlockables in this one. However, they might just be located in a separate menu from the one of DBZ's main storyline, unlike in the last game.

What kind of miffs me is the fact that Oozaru King Vegeta is the only character that was actually revealed by the site to be in the game before it was revealed otherwise first... -_-

The website is free, and doesn't even have ads (or if it does I can't see them, anyway). Shuueisha/V-Jump would be angry if they revealed everything online!

...

You know, if I had a game everyone loved and wanted info on in Japan, I'd say "piss on V-Jump" and reveal 1/3 of the new content on my website - whether it was based on a Jump property or not! Hell, maybe I'd do it like in the bad old days and not reveal every fucking character before the game even came out!!

No, Goku (early) was in videos before then. And I hardly consider those characters anyway.

I'm pretty sure that was Goku (mid).

The official site is updated already.

101) Cyborg #13
102) Combined #13
103) Broli
104) Super Saiya-jin Broli
105) Legendary Super Saiya-jin Broli
106) Zangya
107) Bojack
108) Full Power Bojack
109) Tapion
110) Hildegarn

Seems doubtful now that Bio Broli or first-form Hildegarn will be added.

Also, the few posts ahead of mine have really broken quote layers. :o And I was just facetiously implying that Bandai was trying to sell more copies of V-Jump, but that wouldn't make sense in reality. They probably just promised exclusive first details or something.

All the artworks rocks this time, well at least, for three not so rocking ones. LSSJ Broly got a creepy big jaw, too long and not wide enough. Tapion looks like his biting his fingers while floating Chiaotzu like. And the last one is Zangya expression and posture is just plain clown creepy.

EDIT: 700th Post! While reviewing artwork! I don't know to be happy or sad!

That was really weird, because I just used to quote button. Must've been some sort of broken coding....

Regarding possible Dragonball story mode scenarios, what exactly can we expect within reason?

The third tournament seems to just be missing an adult sized Chi-chi. But we could have a King Piccolo arc. The first and second tournaments seems do-able if you have substitutes but keeps the basic inter action between the main cast. The only thing I can really see not being represented is the Red Ribbon army.

Question, is Demon King Piccolo Daimo or whatever he's called confirmed?

Does Cyborg Taopaipai transform from Taopaipai, or is he another character completely?
