"Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I'll be very surprised if those are the final 3. We knew Goku would be there and I thought the 2nd one would be Gohan or Vegeta so that's not a huge surprise although I was leaning more towards Gohan but 17 over Freeza ? I thought he'd overlast Goku and turn out to be the big villain of the next arc but maybe not.
This'll put (if true) Vegeta in the top 5 strongest fighters across the lower 8 universes, something I think all his fans will be happy about.
Freeza fighting Dyspo doesn't mean that's how he'll go out (if he does) cause he could join the fight agains Jiren and be taken out by him instead, same with Gohan.

How bout we wait and see how shit plays out before making judgements on whether or not 17 outlast Gohan and Freeza
Let's wait and see considering how shit played out this arc

That's an advise too wise to take. We can't, it's in our fan genes to impatiently jump to conclusions without even watching anything.pacz360 wrote:How bout we wait and see how shit plays out before making judgements on whether or not 17 outlast Gohan and Freeza

Ugh 17 over Frieza? That'd be terrible. I'd be fine with Vegeta over Gohan since Gohan has gotten way more screentime and Vegeta hasn't done much, but 17 being in the top 3 would be overstaying his welcome.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Freeza is going to be a major hype killer,he is the main highlight for many fans and there are not a lot of practical ways in which he can be utilized without enraging the fans.Turning good is a big no,not doing extraordinary during the top is a big no,not doing something incredible after tournament is a big no.Peoples expectations are way too high, mostly because a lot of them are covering weak points of top with freeza.A shit storm is coming.The_Destroyer wrote:Ugh 17 over Frieza? But it kinda feels like I've seen more Gohan than Vegeta though for some reason. But not complaining, I'd rather Gohan stay in and Vegeta go out. Goku,Gohan, Frieza is the final 3 I'm hoping for.
Should have just went with Yamcha thenHawk9211 wrote:Freeza is going to be a major hype killer,he is the main highlight for many fans and there are not a lot of practical ways in which he can be utilized without enraging the fans.Turning good is a big no,not doing extraordinary during the top is a big no,not doing something incredible after tournament is a big no.Peoples expectations are way too high, mostly because a lot of them are covering weak points of top with freeza.A shit storm is coming.The_Destroyer wrote:Ugh 17 over Frieza? 17 is nowhere as important as Freeza or Gohan are.
I can't see him in the final 3.

Always glad to support my friends.Lapislettuce wrote:As usual thank you for your encouraging reply, and yes i agree the way Ribrianne was promoted along with Kale it seemed that they would have lasted longer than they did but there's still the manga which i assume you're excited about, i bet they will give U2 more background to it, i also would like to know if Vikale used to be a villain of U2, her design fits.CJStriker_CBR wrote:Got to Admit I did not expect that level of Promotion for 17, Honestly putting him with the 2 big names in Dragon Ball with no one else around is usually a pretty big deal, so I think their might be something this!Lapislettuce wrote: What about now ?
If not it still is a Very Cool Thing to see, that fact that Toei seems to be more and more getting behind 17 as one one of their major players, I would enjoy this just for that alone if I where you Lapislettuce!![]()
As for if this means anything for him being of the Final 3 of U7, I like to believe but I don't want to get ahead of myself. While promotions can show who is important to certain degrees, it is not always correct. I thought all the push and promotion of Brianne/Ribrianne gave her a good chance of being in the Final 10, but I was wrong on that one sadly.
I still think Toei is serious about Brianne/Ribrianne in their own unique way, we will see by the end of this arc and the next arc, But Clear Toei and the Writers seem more and more, especially after the Events of Episode 121, seem allot more serious about 17 and giving him a bigger push, so we will have to wait and see.
Time will tell, it be good to see it happen for 17, having someone new in the top Brass of the Finals.
Indeed Kale as well too in that, she did have epic moments in the last episodes she was in and great character development, but really by how much she was getting promoted she seemed like one of the top dogs of the ToP and could easily have been in the Final 10 and was on many fans lists. Toei is just strange at times with what they consider a push, but maybe this is their idea of a major push, give major character intro and development to the new cast but not the main final spotlight yet. Save them so they don't get over exposed and give time later to add on to their story.
If they do this into the next arc, which I hope, it will make allot more sense.
Also it gives the classic characters time for a comeback to shine(17, Gohan, Frieza) and they with them developed well and ready to lead they can help to be connected to other Universes in the Future to be part of their developments to come(Goku and the U6 Girls, Vegeta and Cabba, The Androids with U2).
As for the Manga, indeed after seeing the last scans of the last chapter that came out, I am pretty excited for what they have for U2 and for me Brianne! I hope they have something at least but the Manga seems to have a nice time developing more backstory for the characters so I think it will be interesting that if they go in-depth to a degree with U2 and Brianne then it will be interesting in what they do.
As for Vikal, yea when I 1st saw her she reminded me of a Vampire Girl and it be pretty interesting that she was a former villain of the Fireballs that they eventually made their friend. That be great and a good homage to Sailor Moon since their show also was famous for converting former foes into friends allot.

I know the "Goku's personality" debate has long ended, but I've just found these pictures. Interesting how it perfectly portrays what would happen if it was nowadays.

Goku imo didn't take this tournament serious until after Jiren beat his ass.

Those things mean nothing.
Damon and Ribrianne were on the calendar as well, and they sucked.

Goku is fine as he is right now, but I can't say that about him for for any arc other than TOP..
The image fits good with his shaky characterization at the start..

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Imagine how mad the general fandom would be if both Gohan and Frieza were shafted out of the final three. All these fan expectations ending up being nothing. It'd be heaven for the people who are just here for the controversies. I'd almost like to see it happen myself, even if I don't think this means much.Lapislettuce wrote: What about now?

Like 17 is fine, but really?
I will still stick with gohan winning the tournament, at the very least the SDBs, be that by being in the ring or out..
He is getting the SDBs one way or the other..

I don't where this mentality comes from. I think some people have legitimately not actually watched many episodes of Super.Kanassa wrote:What are you talkinga bout? remember when he acted that way with Beerus when he realized how strong Beerus wa- Or how about with Frieza- Of course, with Black he never took it seri- Jiren!
