Fan Works Explosion

Goku clearly beat them both effortlessly. Vegeta had to show more effort and power up as an SSJ to max to get Goten and Gohan off of him. Goku does one little shockwave in base and blows them both away. After the attacks both revert to base even. They ain't finished, but they know Goku won't kill them. Goku's entire showing was far better than Vegeta's.

Like I said, Goku had to resort to a Kamehameha, Gohan's blast was enough to do damage to Goku and knock him down, there's not that great a gap in their powers.

Even while 17 toys with Goku, he also toyed with everyone else since he coulda killed them, Goku still does better than everyone before him.

My point is it's inconclusive if the opponent is toying. Is Tenshinhan > sick SS Goku since he was standing while Goku was on the ground against the Cell Juniors?

A kamehameha resort in base is still much lower of a resort than using Super Saiyan.

It's not like Goku's energy is worth that much in a lower level anyways. Goku simply is stronger than Vegeta, a lot stronger.

Baby arc Goku can be stronger than Vegeta, but Base Goku stronger than SS Vegeta? Yeah, no.

What? There's a big realm in toying with someone. 17 just suddenly decides to let Goku smack him around, but no one else? - 17 pretends to be hurt by Goku's attack, when he actually just blocked it
- 17 says Goku's letting him down and that he can see through all of Goku's techniques
- 17 proceeds to kick the shit out of Goku, while Goku can't do anything

17 was clearly not taking him seriously.

He even says he's gonna kill Gohan. He also can't break free from Gohan and Goten's attack til he uses all his power. Baby even comments on this, trying to push Vegeta's ki to radiate at it's upper limit. Goten also passes out when Baby leaves his body and Gohan didn't hit him, so even then Vegeta may not have KOed them otherwise. Goku showed he could take on SSJ Gohan and Goten no problem. Vegeta shows he can't even take on SSJ Gohan without transforming. If he could, he wouldn't transform and just proceed to roflstomp Gohan. Goku at no point needed to transform at all. He'd use a Kamehameha, but that's far lower than SSJ.

Goku's already stronger than everyone, so of course he held back less. Even so Goku clashes even just once are more impressive than anything Vegeta did period. Also this is the same show that had Base Goku tank Omega.

I have watched both fights often enough. And he didn't. You are acting like Vegeta needing bit more effort is equal to him having actual problems against them. Vegeta still held back, no matter if more or less than Goku because one or the other actually has more power - in the end they are very similiar and did not have serious trouble fighting an enemy of whom we don't even know how his enhancement abilities work when it comes to controlling people or animating their body. That is like saying Beerus had problems against Vegeta just because Beerus did not beat Vegeta with his low percent power punch and was actually pushed back by some attacks. And it does not even matter here if Beerus held back because he wanted to find out about the Saiyajin God. As things are both held back, both were being pushed back but both had no actual problems against their opponent.
