Art wise this look like it's going to be an amazing episode which is expected based on who's working on it.
Vegeta thankfully isn't broken as I thought he'd be.

Vegeta was expected to be a stain under Jiren's boot so anything is better than that. Now watch his naysayers go on about how he'll be that next time, never mind this'll be the 2nd or 3rd time they're wrong.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

If Vegeta doesn't get eliminated by mid February, I'm thinking he and Goku will eliminate jiren together. Fused or otherwise.

I think most (reasonable) Vegeta fans will be happy about how this is going to play out, considering that he's not going to be eliminated (yet, anyway).

It's kinda sad, but I'm starting to get flashbacks to when people were constantly going "Out in x weeks" about Caulifla. I think those predictions ended up being wrong five times before Kefla happened.

While we should never put too much stock into Dragon Ball Heroes stuff, I'm starting to feel like the card with UI Goku in front and Blue Vegeta right behind him just might end up being accurate. (Best screenshot I could get)

Why power levels are important?
Spoiler:
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

I think there's a 40% chance that could happen while the other 60% is Vegeta taking a hit for Goku and getting knocked out instead, giving Goku the edge he needs to win. Either way, Vegeta is getting major shine in these next few episodes and I couldn't be happier.

Remembering that the title of episode 123 is '' Full Body, Spirit, and Power unleashed! Goku and Vegeta! ''
So it looks like Goku and Vegeta are going to be highlights in this episode, it's possible that the two fight together and something similar to this DBH card happens

I agree. The last fusion should be Gogeta. Then let it RIP
Hawk9211 wrote:No fusion, thanks. It is a deus ex machina that should be written out of story, preferably forever.
There are 4-5 types of fusion, the first of which has been used in the Namek Saga (before we've seen the first Super Saiyan) and all but one of them have already been used in/for the ToP. How is it that a deus ex machina?

Goku didn't do much against Jiren alone so Vegeta helping makes sense as it can only help their none existing odds at defeating him.
Whis has really been nagging at Goku and Vegeta to work together in their training. It would be nice to see all of his lessons come to a head here. Maybe it's just me, but it feels like Goku and Vegeta are starting to outgrow Whis and Beerus as mentors. Well...Whis mostly. Beerus hasn't contributed much.

I agree but I think they have an arc or to go before they completely outgrow them as there's probably a thing or 2 they can still learn.

Oh I'm sure there's plenty more for them to learn if Whis is willing to teach it. Roshi is still teaching Goku stuff and Goku graduated from that class 30-odd years ago.

It causes unnecessary power creep and plot holes(like why don't they fuse?)
Piccolo who is in low thousands gets in million range.
Two brats which are individually weaker than piccolo become stronger than antagonist which was dozens of time stronger than if not hundreds time stronger.
Then, vegata and goku become more powerful than the antagonist who again if not hundred times but still is dozens of times powerful becomes fodder to fusion.Same with merged zamasu.

Fusion might be a deus ex machina towards others, but against jiren, fusion is just a simple power increase. You are talking about someone who is stronger than one of the top tier gods of destruction.
