Haven't we already gotten background animation ?

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

The point is that we rarely see it.

Lately, they've been using them a lot. I mean, only someone like Shida and Otsuka are using it.
Example: Episode 72 and Episode 75 (maybe Episode 74 too?). And we're seeing more in Episode 77.
I'm bad at English and still learning. If there's anything wrong, please correct me. :D

Episode 72: Goku Vs Hit. Tate's and Karasawa's Background Animation. Like there's mountains being destroyed.
Episode 75: Goku Vs Gohan, Goku Vs Krillin. Goku ambushing Gohan, and how they obelirated that cliff with Rasengan. And Goku walking on water.

My grammar sucks.

The ground was moving after Gohan knocked Goku back. He stumbled and the ground moved with it. It's happened in 57. I know it's happened other times too but I can't remember .

That was CG actually, they took a painted texture and moved it, they've done that a few times as well, I remember they did it when ChiChi was walking in the city in episode 15.

Dang, that's pretty cool. They should do that more often .Well even if it's CG it's still animation right? Genuine question btw.

Also does a rotating background count as background animation ? Another genuine question .

Background animation means actual animation in the background that is done by the "KA". So just moving the background or environmental destruction is not part of background animation. It has to be done by KA themselves as a part of their animation.
For ex:

https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/30094
https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/29993
https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/29772

Hope you got the idea :)

Does this scene from episode#75 count as the kind of background animation you're talking about?

Well, when Goku ambushed Gohan (before he says "He's fast") there's a little bit of background animation.

Then, when Goku tackles Hit's invisible Ki Blast. The background also shatters (before Higashide's scene). Is that a Background Animation? It's done by KA right?

If it's not a background animation. What should we call it?
Or we could ask Ajay maybe?

But, personally I think it's background animation. Because the ground/environment is animation.

Is this shot of gotenks made by Kitano and then corrected?? The eyes look like something he would do.

Sorry for asking again but do you mean Kitano drew the in-between or that Kitano did the key animation?
Because I thought it was Key Kitano and Tsuji corrections (at least for the key). Am I wrong?

Tsuji didn't work on episode 7. I'm saying that Yukihiro Kitano was the key animator for the scene I posted, but you can only really see his style when you frame step between corrections.
