Well Piccolo and Tien fans kinda had a reason to complain especialy Tien he was treated really bad in this arc but every character's role was expected from the announcement of this arc. i don't know why anyone was surprised, 18 and Roshi did do more than expected though, now back to Gohan he did really good, he's having a 1 on 1 with a pride trooper and possibly taking him out so him getting eliminated shouldn't make anyone angry.kinisking wrote:supercat wrote:kinisking wrote:

What did Piccolo fans have to complain about? His exit episode gave him 2 saves and 2 (Or was it three) more eliminations. He got treated pretty well.Lapislettuce wrote: Well Piccolo and Tien fans kinda had a reason to complain especialy Tien he was treated really bad in this arc but every character's role was expected from the announcement of this arc. i don't know why anyone was surprised, 18 and Roshi did do more than expected though, now back to Gohan he did really good, he's having a 1 on 1 with a pride trooper and possibly taking him out so him getting eliminated shouldn't make anyone angry.
I don't think people should be angry about Gohan. He had the most screen time and buildup by far out of the non Goku characters before the tournament, had a leadership role, had the most screen time outside of goku during the tournament, got character development and a power up, and is now most likely taking out one of the main three. He's done great. People just have huge expectations for him and Vegeta for some reason. I guarantee people will be mad when Vegeta gets eliminated although he'll most likely be the second most relevant going forward.
Goku and Vegeta teaming up with Freeza is more interesting. I agree. But we're comparing it to a 17 team up so that's irrelevant. Especially when Vegeta and Goku aren't actually fighting along side him but Gohan is.supercat wrote:
Like I said, Frieza has more than enough history with Goku and Vegeta; adding another tagalong to that picture will only taint it with redundancy. The whole former enemies working together to fight a bigger threat approach already delivered it's awe-inspiring touch through all of Goku and Frieza's interactions. In contrast to all of that, Gohan's a nobody who doesn't have nearly as much history with Frieza as his father does. Besides, barring Piccolo and possibly Krillin, who actually respects Gohan? Sorbet of all people mocked and ridiculed him.
Gohan's also a prideless tool that would have no problem working with a former enemy, no matter how terrible of a past they may have had together. Therefore, it's not really a stretch to see him battling alongside Frieza.
Seriously hyped about 17 and Frieza going up against Toppo though. So glad it's not Gohan.
Uhhh, pretty much everyone respects Gohan. Roshi, Piccolo, Tien, and Krillin all listened to his instructions because of that. They've even all complimented his strategies and work ethic this arc. Beerus has gained respect for him this arc, Bergamo said he was someone worth fighting, and even Vegeta respects him more than the other characters besides for maybe Goku. The only ones disrespecting him have been 18,17, and Freeza who are rude to everyone. Sorbet mocked him but Tagoma specifically went for Gohan because he was the biggest threat.
Prideless tool? Geez dude, you've been idolizing Vegeta too much apparently. Working with a former enemy in this situation is the smart thing to do. Besides, you just proved why it would make more sense for a Gohan/ Freeza team up than a Vegeta or Goku one.
I'm hyped for 17 and Freeza too!
Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!Jinzoningen MULE wrote: Maybe I should start making it a point not to comment when I'm not sure of something. Too many people know what they're talking about around here.
I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I still have faith that Gohan and Toppo will be the last remaining in the ToP

Chapter summary is out, and it clear that Toei are big time Gohan fans, they make him Blue tier, they even had Yamamuro animate his fight(clash with Kaioken Goku), and looks like he will be out this saturday vs Dyspo.

Gowasu's number 1 fan.

I think he meant popular but not *as* popular as the big core characters like Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Freeza, etc.
17, 18, Roshi and Tien all have fanbases but I wouldn't put those 4 anywhere near the level of what I consider the core DBZ cast. I'd place Future Trunks over them too if he were here.

But we saw 17 was revived on earth. If he died during the self destruct he would be in heaven (where king kai's world was).HeroR wrote:He killed the person who absorbed him after he died to a self-destruct that Gohan could have prevented. It did kill 17. He just went back to his perfect form since his body 'remembered' the power, at according to the dub. I'm not sure if cell self distructing actually killed 17 considering cell regenerated so maybe 17 did too. Although obviously Gohan ended up killing cell and 17 anyways with the Kamehameha. Either way, 17 wouldn't have even gotten the chance to resurrect if Gohan didn't kill cell.
It was more than Gohan's power given how Cell died, but no one pretends he owes Goku or even Vegeta anything.
You assume the self destruct killed him. But that's the thing. Goku destroyed Cell. And 18 survived. Or maybe 18 was in the lower end of Cell and 17 at the top. In which case GOKU killed 17 ? :p
I hope you realize that 17's popularity sky rocketed. He's a great character, smart, cool, powerful, unique abilities, doesn't rely on transformations. He's a breath of fresh air for many people.precita wrote:I think he meant popular but not *as* popular as the big core characters like Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Freeza, etc.

How would 17 even survived when Cell came back from a single cell from his brain?Slaythe wrote:But we saw 17 was revived on earth. I'm not taking a particular side in the "When exactly did No. 17 die?" debate, but the way I interpreted No. 17's statement that he saw and heard Gokū is this: He (and, by extension, No. 18) became one with Cell; with the possible exception of touch, his senses became theirs. What Cell saw, they saw; what Cell heard, they heard. I think of it kind of like No. 17 having a dream that took place from Cell's perspective; he wasn't in control and simply perceived it as it played out, if that makes sense. In that regard, I could see No. 17 becoming one with Cell in all regards barring consciousness as a potential point toward No. 17 surviving with Cell and dying with Cell, though I don't have much of an opinion one way or the other.HeroR wrote:How would 17 even survived when Cell came back from a single cell from his brain?

Well, that is also only in the Super manga and not the Super anime, but I can see your point.Black Hawk wrote:I'm not taking a particular side in the "When exactly did No. 17 die?" debate, but the way I interpreted No. 17's statement that he saw and heard Gokū is this: He (and, by extension, No. 18) became one with Cell; with the possible exception of touch, his senses became theirs. Just out of curiosity, did No. 17 mention anything remotely similar in the anime? I feel like he explained how he knew Gokū's voice in the anime, but I can't quite recall.HeroR wrote:Well, that is also only in the Super manga and not the Super anime, but I can see your point.

True, but Cell sill had half his body. After Cell self-destructed, he was literally a single cell.Whatever wrote:18 was alive despite Goku blowing up the whole Upper half of Cell's body.HeroR wrote:

Considering the Android 18 thing, I'm not sure how consistent the absorbing rules are treated. If Goku blew off his upper half we'd have seen either of them hanging out the top, but if they are broken down and digested in some form, then how did he vomit 18 back up?HeroR wrote:True, but Cell sill had half his body. Only thing I can think is that when he absorbs them, they are treated as part of him. Therefore they regenerate with him when he heals?
Its not very clear

The WSJ synopses are taking longer than usual to be released ...
In the synopsis of 124, the summary was short, I hope not to be the same with the 125
