That's why I said "most" not all of them. And no, by any means I said that people have to "suddenly" move on. But even if it's the fanbase preference or not, we're not returning to super buffed characters that's sure.Bansho64 wrote:There were plenty of normal weight characters in that era. This apparent trend of skinny characters being the "cool thing" sounds a bit weird to me. Especially when you got huge fanbases for modern anime characters like Alex Louis Armstrong and Whitebeard or whatnot.neolux wrote:If I'm not wrong in the 90's most male anime characters were mostly buffed because that was a cool thing; however, nowadays the cool thing it's that the male characters have "normal" bodies.I'm not sure what you're asking when you say people need to apparently "move on". I mean, people aren't just going to all of a sudden cast their preferences out. It's just not gonna happen.neolux wrote: So I don't see why we can't move on in that regard an accept that characters won't really look buffed. I mean yeah, character designs are not the best in super, but them being skinny is most a matter of how the styles of animators have evolved. I mean even Toriyama draws skinny characters now.

I wouldn't even agree on most of them being that way.neolux wrote: That's why I said "most" not all of them. And no, by any means I said that people have to "suddenly" move on. But even if it's the fanbase preference or not, we're not returning to super buffed characters that's sure.
As for the franchise supposedly never returning to more muscular designs, neither you or I know that. We've gotten an Evil Goku and we're soon to get a (presumably) female Broly, so I'm gonna hold my breath before saying it's never gonna happen.

Oh, don't take me wrong, I don't ask you to agree with me;that's why, it's just my pointless opinionBansho64 wrote:neolux wrote: I wouldn't even agree on most of them being that way.Bansho64 wrote:As for the franchise supposedly never returning to more muscular designs, neither you or I know that. Not sure who that is, maybe Ishikawa, but Goku looks a bit too buff.

I don't see anything wrong other than his hair line being a bit high in one spot.Wezenheim wrote:Good lord Goku, what happened to your head?!Sodhi wrote:DBS #78 Image.
The image reminds me a bit for 55, so maybe it's Takamura.

I'm just being cheeky. That being said, the top of his head does feel too tall.ArchedThunder wrote:I don't see anything wrong other than his hair line being a bit high in one spot.Wezenheim wrote:Good lord Goku, what happened to your head?!Sodhi wrote:DBS #78 Image.

This looks like Toma to me. Especially Whis. That's how toma draws Whis, if I am not mistaken. Oh and pointy chins also points towards it being Toma's work. Just watch I probably will be wrong.

Toma generally drew Goku thinner, didn't he?Sodhi wrote:This looks like Toma to me. Especially Whis. That's how toma draws Whis, if I am not mistaken.

Yea that is what is confusing me. Goku does not look to be his, other than the chin and ears.ArchedThunder wrote: Toma generally drew Goku thinner, didn't he?

It could always be someone else's drawing corrected by Toma I guess.Sodhi wrote:Yea that is what is confusing me. Goku does not look to be his, other than the chin and ears.ArchedThunder wrote: Toma generally drew Goku thinner, didn't he?
I'm sticking with Takamura as my guess.

The colors look fine to me(at least in this image) There's no "dream sequence" filter, so if the rest of the arc looks like this then that's fine in my opinion. Or maybe I'm wrong and the actual episode might look different.
Feel free to correct me if I say something wrong.

The last image didn't have the filter either, that didn't happen until we saw the NEP. I wouldn't judge anything off of just this.Shreyas_Singh wrote:The colors look fine to me(at least in this image) There's no "dream sequence" filter, so if the rest of the arc looks like this then that's fine in my opinion. To be honest, it kinda looks like Kitano to me, there is also a possibility thats its a Yashima Keyframe though I doubt it.Sodhi wrote:DBS #78 Image.

Yeah, the assumptions that I made could be completely wrong, the image isn't very big or in high quality so its pretty hard to tell.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 76
Yup, sure looks like Kitano. Not that that makes much sense rotation-wise, but stranger things have happened.JazzMazz wrote: To be honest, it kinda looks like Kitano to me.

Well, his touch on 74 was minimal, so probably he was focusing on this episode.
Probably he's teamed with someone else tho...
