A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

I am a native American English speaker as well, and yet I'd be lost were it not for Donghyun's lyrics.

Yeah. Before I would only understand the phrases "get ready," "fight it out," "go kamehameha," and "strongest of the universe." The rest sounds too much like gibberish. Good singing though, just poor pronunciation, and the lyrics are a bit strange.

Episode #17 of "The Final Chapters" is entitled:
"극악무도한 마도사 바비디와 암흑마계왕 다브라의 함정!"
Google translates as:
"Dark Magus monstrous Bobby Dee and the Underworld King of the bra is a trap !"
Correct English is:
"The Heinous Mage Babidi

Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
^Nice! I think it's a little odd that it's 17 episodes already, though. I would've thought the new ending theme would've come along at around 16-18. With this, the earliest it can come along would be Episode 21, if it's still Majin Vegeta centered.

I just noticed now that they're in English but the pronounciation makes it hard to understand. Fight It Out!! is really catchy and am glad a full version is out now.

Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
The Opening theme totally rocks!!! I need full version!!!!
Just noticed, that the lyrics are in Engrish?
I thought that they are Japanese with heavy use of English..... Damn, when it goes to Japanese people singing in English, they always fail in that.
I can't stand English version of Chala Head Chala or other Kageyama tracks even a bit, but this song is actually so weirdly sang, that I didn't even understood that it is in english.

^I highly doubt there are longer versions of any of these. These were intended for the international market where they don't sell songs.

Save some exceptions, like Hikaru Utada, who was born to Japanese parents but raised in America...both her Japanese and her English are completely free of accents.MCDaveG wrote:Just noticed, that the lyrics are in Engrish?![]()

Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
And if it does get a CD release then have a Japanese version of it too, so that the singer can sing in his mother tongue language without making mistakes.
Whenever I listen to Fight It Out!! I hear "Soulless of the Universe" and it's actually "Strongest of the Universe".

Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
They really should have gotten English-speaking vocalists to sing these songs. Look at the Sonic the Hedgehog games. They were made in Japan, but the theme songs and other vocal tracks were performed by Americans. Why can't Toei do the same?

^That's a good point, actually. Almost all of them are in English. The only exceptions would be the anime songs that are in Japanese, and the theme from the movie which is in Engrish. The Japanese Sonic CD themes have both Engrish and English in them.

At this rate, I just pray that FUNimation opted for the "Japanese cut"...yeah, I know, it's highly unlikely.

Again, there's no reason for Funi or anyone else in the world to have this Japanese edit. It serves one purpose and one purpose alone. Everybody else in the world already has theirs.

Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
The Japanese cut is an updated version of The Final Chapters but instead of making it better, they often would have bad music placements, weird cuts and the pacing was/is awful (it's not over yet, so the terrible pacing may return).
When I'm referring to the horrendous pacing, it's way back at the beginning with the Great Saiyaman arc they fucked that up and being so I'd rather they have skipped it as it was barely watchable.

Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
No reason...I dunno.I mean, if I put myself into FUNi' shoes, the Japanese cut seems better. You're right, there is an international version, but from what I've seen, the japanese cut is better - I don't wanna say "Its' a great, perfect version", I just say : it's -IMO- better. The simple idea that FUNimation has dubbed the international version makes me sick and frustrated .What a waste!Valerius Dover wrote:Again, there's no reason for Funi or anyone else in the world to have this Japanese edit. Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
Well, I can't give my own opinion just yet, but others have mostly complained about the pacing being inconsistent in cut version, due to them only editing certain episodes while leaving others intact.
