Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
It doesn't matter what the visuals show if the author himself says otherwise.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
You act like toriyama doesn't recton stuff all the time hell super is already different from bog.Birusu16 wrote:It doesn't matter what the visuals show if the author himself says otherwise.

uhh no feats> statementsBirusu16 wrote:It doesn't matter what the visuals show if the author himself says otherwise.
That's the exosphere, the stratosphere doesn't extend that high unless the DB is much much bigger than our earth
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
I'm well aware of that, which is why I said until we get concrete evidence then I'm not going to claim that god ki allows Saiyans to survive in space. Visuals are not concrete evidence as they clearly weren't in the stratosphere in BoGs either yet that's what Toriyama claimed.pacz360 wrote:You act like toriyama doesn't recton stuff all the time hell super is already different from bog.Birusu16 wrote:It doesn't matter what the visuals show if the author himself says otherwise.
Too many people like to jump the gun without solid evidence and then when it happens to turn out differently then they had thought they start to complain. It's best to simply wait.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Uh no. Toriyama does not do the animation. Toei does. His word is above any visual we see. He's the author of the series, not Toei. If his claim of a certain scene is different than the visual suggests it is then the one that's factual is the one coming from the author of the series.Saiyan007 wrote:uhh no feats> statementsBirusu16 wrote:It doesn't matter what the visuals show if the author himself says otherwise.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Ok I think in DBS Gods can survive in space. That's explain Goku.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
That's not how it works it's visual feats >> statements. If Toriyama said they were fighting 2 feet above the ocean when they are in space or close to it are we going to believe him?You can go right on google and look where the stratosphere is,it's much lower from the preview shot which is the exosphereBirusu16 wrote:Uh no. That is how it works. Toriyama is the author, not Toei. He does not do the animation/visuals, Toei does. His word trumps any animation/visual that comes from Toei. Word of god trumps anything else in the series.Saiyan007 wrote:That's not how it works it's visual feats >> statements. If Toriyama said they were fighting 2 feet above the ocean when they are in space or close to it are we going to believe him?You can go right on google and look where the stratosphere is,it's much lower from the preview shot which is the exosphere
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
His word is not the end all be all becuase if someone is fighting in space and Toriyama then says no they were actually on 2 feet in the air no higher than that when we see them in space he'd be wrong.Birusu16 wrote:That is how it works. Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Yes it is law because it's HIS series. He decides what is and isn't factual.Saiyan007 wrote:His word is not the end all be all becuase if someone is fighting in space and Toriyama then says no they were actually on 2 feet in the air no higher than that when we see them in space he'd be wrong.Birusu16 wrote:That is how it works. Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
No it's not becuase i know that being near to space means you're thousands of miles up.
If Akira was too say that yeah they were in space but they were only like 2 feet above the ocean he would be wrong plain and simple.Death of the author is a thing that people use since on panel feats will always be better than statements.
You don't have to like it but that's the way how it is.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Yes it is. Word of god trumps any visual. He's the author of the series, not the animation teams. Him having a different take on the scene than Toei simply means that Toei took liberties with the scene that Toriyama never intended, which happens in every anime adaption of essentially every manga. We can keep arguing this until the sun comes up, but nothing is changing.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
I honestly think we're going to see the punch in Ep. 12. Just from the way beerus and goku were charging at each in the preview, along with everybody appearing to freak out.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Again death of author exists. It doesn't matter if he's the author feats are always better than statements unless the DB Earth is massive in size being up in space means you're thousands of miles up in the air.Being up 2 feet of the ground isn't space no matter what the author saysBirusu16 wrote:Yes it is. Yes it certainly does. It's his series and therefore he decides what's factual and what isn't. Toei does not.Saiyan007 wrote:Again death of author exists. It doesn't matter if he's the author feats are always better than statements unless the DB Earth is massive in size being up in space means you're thousands of miles up in the air.Being up 2 feet of the ground isn't space no matter what the author saysBirusu16 wrote:Yes it is. No it doesn't heck marvel thinks wolverine is faster than thor despite thor tagging characters like gladiator,surfer,sentry.Birusu16 wrote:Yes it is. Word of god trumps any visual. Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Yes it does. An example that lacks any proof whatsoever isn't helping your argument. Not to mention Thor has so many incarnations it's entirely possible for Wolverine to be faster depending on the writer at the time. He's jobbed to many opponents he wouldn't normally job to.pacz360 wrote:No it doesn't heck marvel thinks wolverine is faster than thor despite thor tagging characters like gladiator,surfer,sentry.Birusu16 wrote:Yes it is. At the end of the day this argument is pointless. If Vegeta ends up dying like in RoF then it will definitively prove that Saiyans can't survive in space. If he survives then it's definitively proven that Saiyans can survive in space with god ki. Like I said before, it's best to just wait, but people just HAVE to jump the gun for some reason.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
So back to the thing I said before. Beerus stabbed Goku and then later his wound was gone and Beerus seemed to be surprised by it. What was that? Did his God Ki heal his wounds?
Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Thats what it looked like. So I am guessing God body is not the same as his regular body?, or the body of the god is unpierceable.Bullza wrote:So back to the thing I said before. Re: Dragon Ball Super: Power Level Discussion Thread
Yeah, I think that was what they were trying to get across. I wonder if this will mean that the events that lead to Vegeta fighting Freeza in F will be different, or maybe because he's not a Super Saiyan God in F anymore and is kinda sorta something else he loses the ability to heal himself, or maybe it piercing all the way through in F makes him to weak to heal it (or falling out of SSGSS where as it seems he can stay in regular god no matter what until the time limit runs out.)Bullza wrote:So back to the thing I said before.
