We have no idea if Freeza will do something to the Gods. Maybe in the manga he will realize throughout the tournament that he can manipulate the Gods.perucho1990 wrote:https://twitter.com/GovetaXV/status/964942463096926208
So the whole wanting to overthrow the Gods was Toei filler, what a shame.... Toriyama still wants to keep it simple, showing he is still stuck in the 80s.

Zamasu saga is rehash of entire franchise. Everything was seen before. Vegito, spirit bomb, even Zamasu fusing with himself is the same shit as Super 17.Tian wrote:Perhaps they can't rehash DBZ anymore.Skar wrote:Maybe one of the reasons DBS is ending is because they're running out of colors for new transformations.
Battle of Gods Saga : Two aliens coming to earth and one of them wanting to destroy it and fight Goku? Seen in Saiyan Saga
Revival of F Saga : Freeza having two henchmen (one who is tall and other one is short) and Goku obtaining a transformation? Seen in Freeza Saga.
Zamasu Saga : Trunks is escaping from a devastated future from a big threat and then such threat appears in the present and fuses with another being to become the ultimate lifeform. Where do I have seen this before? Oh yeah, Cell Saga! Although the fusion wasn't seen there, I think absorbing counts.
About ToP Saga, I can't comment anything because I haven't noticed any "homages" to Z.
But entire saga was mostly Cell and Baby ripoffs.
Plot was Cell saga ripoff
Zamasu as a character was Baby ripoff
"I will concede that your feelings are worthy of the mightiest of Saiyans. However, there is more to my power than just this. Before you die, I will show it to you. This is the difference in power, between the primitive Saiyans and the evolved Tsufruians." ~Baby Vegeta
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Goku's most interesting artificial hairstyle for me is the one formed via using the Kaioken. I enjoy the upturned hair but with the black with a red outline embellishing it -- sounds similar to the Ultra Instinct but with the personally preferred ideal of it not referencing a "transformation" like UI does. Super Saiyan's allure was besmirched for me with the countless additional forms as well as the centralisation of the progressional narrative. It's a development that DB hasn't recovered from and likely never will because of marketing.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
This is pretty much the last straw that broke the camels back for me. There's no place they can go from here. If Super gave Goku 4+ new transformations, then whenever Dragonball comes back, Goku is bound to get another 4+ transformations.
Goku is now going to have around 10 different transformations. This has almost become a parody of itself. At this point rainbow hair Goku will probably happen next series. It's like published fanfiction.

I agree with that.sintzu wrote:This.Totamo wrote:and then we will bitch for a month and get over it.precita wrote:This is just so awful. When Dragonball comes back Goku will probably get a rainbow hair transformation in the next series.![]()
Remember how everyone (including myself) was crying about Black's pink hair only to love it once they saw it animated ? unless the episode this shows up in is ep5 quality, chances are it'll look great.
Omen was probably the only transformation I didn’t have an initial negative reaction to when it debuted. With every other transformation, even if I disliked it at the beginning, I stopped caring because in the end of the day, this is a fictional work and there are better things to bitch about.
At least Toriyama is consistent. Perhaps if Omen never debuted in the first place, I might have liked silver hair from the get-go due to the very concept of UI.

How many times was "the last straw" for you during DBS run?! And how many camels we still have?!precita wrote:This is pretty much the last straw that broke the camels back for me.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Exactly.Xeogran wrote:I know right. People thought the Hit mini-arc in the Anime was filler because it wasn't in Manga/The Outline, and yet it was referenced later on. Some people believe that everything that's not in the outline doesn't matter to the actual series, which is hilarious to think.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Besides the outline is not source material why are people still so fixated on the damn thing is beyond me.
It's no different to back in the day when he would help Toei on Z filler, that's all he's doing here is simply helping Toei and Toyo respectively, I mean Toei even changed his UI design! The outline is a merely guide that's it. We know Toriyama doesn't scribe action scenes are we supposed to call every fight in DBS (both Manga and Anime) "filler" then? No cuz that's just silly, isn't it?

One could make a legitimate argument that GT rehashed a lot of things from the original DB before Z.sunsetshimmer wrote:Zamasu saga is rehash of entire franchise. Everything was seen before. Yeah, right. You said the exact same thing when Gohan was eliminated. And you're still here.precita wrote:This is pretty much the last straw that broke the camels back for me.

The entire idea behind turles is that he was meant to represent goku if he never hit his head as a baby and retained his saiyan nature. That’s why I said “another version of turles”. Essentially a goku clone that’s goku if he didn’t hit his head.sunsetshimmer wrote:I don't remember Turles being a clone of Goku or his alternate future version.Dbzk1999 wrote:So, basically, you wanted another version of Turles? Yeah. Cloned Goku would be far better. I'd say since entire arc was about time travel anyway, they could also make him be Goku or rather Kakarotto from alternate timeline where he didn't hit his head and actually slaughtered earthlings.
But i remember body switches and body control from previous series.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Not to mention that you called body switch lazy, yet an idea that have been used in fanfics for decades is somehow original. I mean, neither of them are that creative.Dbzk1999 wrote:The entire idea behind turles is that he was meant to represent goku if he never hit his head as a baby and retained his saiyan nature. It baffles me they would give Goku another new, and hideous, recolor form immediately after we got one of the best transformations since SSJ3. Like, why, why, why...these people are stupid.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. Rebuilding him as a fighter only for him not to do anything important would be the last straw that breaks the camels back for people
If Piccolo loses next week I vow to quit watching Super forever and will burn all my DVDs to the ground. It will be the final straw that breaks the camels back and will be what "makes or breaks" Super once and for all!
I’m sorry, but you say the bolded way too many times. How many times will this be the “last straw” or the “straw that breaks the camel’s back” for you?Freeza ever had a redemption arc in the anime similar to Vegeta, Piccolo, etc. it would be the biggest jump the shark moment in Dragonball history, completely destroy Freeza's character, and make the Dragonball franchise a laughing stock. It would be the last straw that finally breaks the camels bac

I'm glad it was an anime-only plot point. I was thinking something like this might happen if Freeza won.emperior wrote:We have no idea if Freeza will do something to the Gods. I was referring to the Dragon Ball anime when Goku was a kid, not Z. But it has similar elements to both Z and original DB too.Tian wrote:I made a post about it time ago:TheShadowEmperor8055 wrote: One could make a legitimate argument that GT rehashed a lot of things from the original DB before Z.
