Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
What the fuck was the point of this incredibly hyped up "unbeatable" form that surpasses the Power of the Gods if Goku is just gonna lose AGAIN ?!(as if not losing every major arc wasn't enough). People deacribed Goku winning as the predictable ending but that's far from true. The actual ending that we'll get has been predicted when the ToP started. At this point I hope they do something interesting with Frieza's wish at least...

Everyone could sense his Ki when he released his energy. I just assume he doesn't.FrostByte wrote:How do you know that Jiren doesn't have God Ki? In the manga even Toppo uses god ki.Saying Jiren doesn't have god ki without any proof is just dumb.Yedis wrote:Beaten by a guy who doesn't have God Ki and wasn't trained by Angels either. Just a guy who according to the Anime was "obsessed with strength".Birusu16 wrote:Well Goku fans are about to flip and so much for UI being unbeatable. It gets beaten by a guy who doesn't even have it.
"The Goku has no room to grow after UI" is already proven false in his first fight with it.

This actually makes his eagerness to train Uub and make him a worthwhile opponent even weirder.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Well, I guess the people saying that the ending will be preditacle with Goku winning against Jiren and wishing everyone back are wrong again. But they have been wrong since Champa arc, so not surprising. Say they will drop the show doesn't make sense either, because the show is about to end.
Unlike your average shonen, being the main character means shit to Akira Toriyama.
I hope they bring the other Universes back at least.

I seem to doubt that’s what they were going for when saying that, due to the reason I stated above. Let’s see when the episode comes out.HeroR wrote:It was always just best fighter or as the manga put it, the strongest fighter.Helios518 wrote:I always took it as “Best fighter remaining in the winning team”. Why I use "Geran" instead of "Jiren"

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I don't think it's over yet with Goku. Why would he and Jiren think the fight isn't over if Freeza being there is a big surprise? If they both knew it wasn't over, then shouldn't Jiren be more prepared for Freeza rather than be caught off guard? Though that's just some speculation on my part. The previews aren't always 100 percent accurate anyways. I'd rather Freeza give an opening for Goku rather than Jiren and Freeza be the final two. Though if that is the case either time just runs out then, or Jiren really should just crush Freeza in a millisecond.
But maybe.....MAYBE....this is all a call back the best arc evar! RESURRECTION F. Freeza uses the power of Sorbet to mortally wound Jiren and then throw him out.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
So much for MUI can't be touched by Jiren lol
Actually, I like this and it's not predictable. We all assumed that Goku and Jiren might knock each other out or something similar, I didn't see anyone who said that Frieza, himself, is the one who will eliminate Jiren.
The only problem, of course, is that it's gonna be rushed as hell, can't see them doing anything decent with Frieza after his win.
The best they could do is ending the show with a cliffhanger, and continue Frieza's stuff in the movie or something, probably?
Btw, I like the "Jiren finally gets serious" lmao

I absolutely love this. So many Goku fans were on their high horses for the past several weeks and to see him still lose to a normal guy despite all these asspull power-ups is amazing.
Thank you Toei/Toriyama.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
It would be better to have at least one story in the modern DB when Goku wins. Because of the cancel, this isn't possible in Super, perhaps in the new movie...
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
lol how are people mad at this? I wish y'all were as mad as this when gohan got eliminated.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Goku losing basically confirms Goku's stories aren't over. They really can't end his story on a lost battle, and there's so much more to go for him. I never really thought Super ending meant we wouldn't get new stories about Goku, considering the series director of Super said in the spanish interview that Toriyama still has a lot of stories to tell, and the movie coming out confirms it.
Now my only concern is whether we will get the continuation of the story in movies or in a new show. I definitely want a new and improved weekly show instead of annual movies, and I really, really hope the next story will be set after the end of Z.

They don't say explicit say that Goku is eliminated, tho, even if likely.

1. Goku gets blown away, everyone assume he's done for
2. Goku gets back up to settle the match between him and Jiren.
3, Frieza's death beam catches Jiren off guard and gives U7 the win?

Plot twist - it's actually #17. Freeza is still MIA.
