There's plenty of reason to remake the films as arcs. Now they have freedom to do with those storylines as they like.

That and dozen other reasons already discussed but some people keep ignoring. Oh well, it's a waste of time.

It seems Chaos Dragon might be one of the last two announcements Funimation has been holding off. That leaves only the last spot for Super's simulcast, although CR could end up getting it too.

3. I like that we finally see one of the other universes(at least).

Maybe 1 or 2 but more? Don't think it's needed, novelty would get old fast too. I wanted them to explore the concept after BOG came out but I think it should stay as the main theme for 1 general story arc only and whatever's next should focus on something else

To be fair, a lot of the discussion around here is just "talking about what's canon to what in the interest of curiosity and getting rather in-depth because we are most of us nerds", which often gets confused with the more obejctionable "obsessing over canon to the point of equating it with 'good'".

Stopping the show twice to tell fans to go see a movie would destroy the series' narrative flow and in some cases, leave some fans lost if they can't manage to get the film

The reason this series is being done to begin with is due to the success of those movies. The public knows characters like Beerus, Whis and the like thanks to the movies. They don't have to make people buy the DVD/BD, but they can air the movie instead of a new episode when appropriate. You know, like it was done with most previous movies and TV specials. It's not something new for Dragon Ball. And the fact that Toriyama is not only acknowledging the movies but saying that each of them are part of a particular story arc is proof enough that they are not going to be remade or rewritten. The series will complement and expand them.

If they are going to retell BOG and ROF into arcs then I hope we will see Freeza train and how he became stronger.

Retelling Battle of Gods and Revival of F is a very stupid idea. I am sure that they could have found another way if they wanted to introduce Beerus and SSJ God. But I do like the part with the Super DragonBalls. Kinda reminds me of the first episodes of the Namek Saga.

I was ok with them retelling the movies at first, but now I realize we may get a whole 'nother Freeza arc. Really wish we could just move past Frieza already. The Namek saga was great, even though it dragged, but I think we've got enough of him. Whether it's in the movies, or the series', we've seen him return plenty of times, and while Resurrection F was great, I don't want to see another whole arc on him.

I really hope we can get past these movies quick, hopefully at most around 10 episodes, cause I am kinda excited about the universe 6 story, and we already know how the movies end, and maybe they'll rewrite them, but I don't think they'll change too much, especially any important plot points.

I'm actually excited about the retelling of the movies! I feel bad for those that have seen them already, but I haven't. Being a strick dub fan, I haven't gotten around to BOG yet, and RoF isn't out yet. (Just to be clear I don't hate on other dub versions) So this will be one of the few people that is hearing BOG and RoF as a new story. (Though I have followed the forums on these movies so I know the jest of what happens)

I'd settle on 13 personally. Just because of Tapion.

Movie 12 seems more of a one time thing that wouldn't work too well in TV format.

Hmm, unlikely as it is that Toei cares about their old movies at this point (though they did bring back Garlic Jr. so who knows), I think that'd be pretty cool to see (movies 12 and 13 being favourites of mine).

As mentioned above, 12 could be especially fitting; if the plot of RF is gonna get changed for Super, maybe you could have Janemba as an early miniboss, or the denizens of hell escaping alongside Frieza--or part of Frieza's training involving fighting Janemba, even.

Totally wouldn't mind movie 13 either. Tapion + Trunks w/ sword. =D

But I think movie 12 would work great if they take major liberties with the events in it. Janemba distorting the entire universe (not just hell) alone is enough reason to warrant them traveling to universe 6.
