It's been speculated that this is a 'special' VS mode and the reason the Vegeta suit is added now is because it's showing off the opening screen when a player uses/transforms into an Ozaru.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:You know, the fact that they used the regular Oozaru model first and now have a Oozaru Vegeta version tells me that the Vegeta version might not have been done when they first cut the trailer. I doubt that highly, at least with the information we actually have. Spike seems intelligent enough to realize that a Cell Arc Goku isn't going to become an Oozaru, and he's the only character in the picture besides Oozaru Vegeta. I'm not saying we won't get an Oozaru versus Oozaru mode, but I doubt this is it if we do.Jaruka wrote:It's been speculated that this is a 'special' VS mode and the reason the Vegeta suit is added now is because it's showing off the opening screen when a player uses/transforms into an Ozaru.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:You know, the fact that they used the regular Oozaru model first and now have a Oozaru Vegeta version tells me that the Vegeta version might not have been done when they first cut the trailer. Dragon Galaxy in RB2 was okay but it got old very quick. I would like to see the story mode again if it's a story mode similar to the Budokai 1 story or a open world story similar to Budokai 3 & the second Sparking game.

I actually thought it was pretty boring... What I would love to have in this game are the things you had to do in "Budokai 1" when fighting Raditz, like rotating the analog to do the Makankosappo and stuff. Something like that would be pretty cool...

Arguably the best anime graphics of its time? Indisputably the best DBZ graphics to date? The best in-game DBZ cut scenes to date? Best DBZ character models/animations? Good game controls? Non-laggy online play? C'mon man...Attitudefan wrote:I think that's the only thing Burst Limit did right...

I honestly didn't like the character design of the game and it's mechanics. The cut scenes were alright but there are better... only good for a Dragonball game.batistabus wrote:Arguably the best anime graphics of its time? Indisputably the best DBZ graphics to date? I thought Burst Limit was overrated, but this is completely off-topic.
Though it's true that other games could learn something from some of Burst Limits designs in other areas, such as speed of the characters and online gameplay.

Their presentations are great, but if you've seen one, you've seen them all.batistabus wrote:The best in-game DBZ cut scenes to date?
Models are blocky compared to Raging Blast. Animations for both RB and BL are choppy (RB a little more so), but both also have the same level of fluidity in gameplay.batistabus wrote:Best DBZ character models/animations?

Yeah, look at the hair for example, it looks like it has a poly count of that for the PS2. Not cool. RB models actually resemble the manga/anime so much better. It looks like a drawing, but then there's the cut scene animations and they are pretty terrible. No effort, not at all!

I myself am interested in how this will turn out, haven't gotten a Spike game since Neo (which personally was incredibly broken as a game overall) but this actually looks like they're finally trying to create a game, and not just a half hearted attempt at fan service.
Good luck to them.
Also only showing negativity towards a game that you haven't played yet is immature and pointless. I'm fine with after playing it thinking "Jeez, that was a huge hunk of shit, why would anyone ever buy that?" (Which many fan boys/girls/aliens do because it doesn't give them a blowjob and a high five) as well as letting them play a game which contains characters who they have grown up with. Because we all know, if a game doesn't fulfil every single prerequisite that you have, it's a waste of money and who ever made it should be murdered.
Good luck to them.

If it really turns out to be called 'Ultimate Tenkaichi' in the end then I really demand that Tenkaichi-feel.

It probably will have "that Tenkaichi-feel,"but demanding it? Really? It's not like it would be unprecedented to use a portion of the name of a previous series while having a different style of play. Budokai Tenkaichi, for example, was very different from Budokai. Hell, there have been multiple Budokai style games that did not have "Budokai" in the title.InfernalVegito wrote:If it really turns out to be called 'Ultimate Tenkaichi' in the end then I really demand that Tenkaichi-feel.

Sorry for my exaggerated kind. How can I demand? I can't. But I expect it to be like that somehow.Eddie wrote:It probably will have "that Tenkaichi-feel,"but demanding it? Really? I want you to go ahead and re-read your post while paying extra attention to the parts I've taken the liberty to bold. Talk about contradicting yourself.Patient-mental wrote:I myself am interested in how this will turn out, haven't gotten a Spike game since Neo (which personally was incredibly broken as a game overall) but this actually looks like they're finally trying to create a game, and not just a half hearted attempt at fan service.

Anyway, back to the topic of this thread...
I saw the headlines on the front page of the site. I'm actually rooting for the rumored "Ultimate Tenkaichi" title because I think the franchise full circle and to a close. With the way things have been going for Dragonball's game sales and the way Spike has been beating this dead horse (coincidence? I think so...) I think this game would be a nice send-off for fans. It would wash away the bad taste Raging Blast has left in the mouths of fans and publishers alike and it would end a nice 6 year run with the Tenkaichi series. Assuming Spike is going to put more work into this game than past installments(let's not count our chickens before they hatch) we'd get a fun game to talk about and play while Bandi gets a break and time to think of a new formula for the franchise.
Leave the fans wanting more Dragonball instead of shoving it down our throats year after year.
With that said. I'm not hating on this game but rather looking at it with low expectations. Who knows, maybe Spike will make a good game; my low expectations would only make a good game that much better. It's better than disappointing myself.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Has everyone seen the SSJ Bardock pic in the site news? Looks like SSJ Bardock will inevitably be in a US game soon whether its this one or the next.

Really? You're trying to pull me up on my obvious choice of words? I was observing the ridiculousness of people who expect it to be everything they always want and getting bitchy when it isn't. My purposeful use of immaturity when writing that, was to 'contradict' myself to be hyperbolic towards the first paragraph as a "hey guess what, I can be childish too, but you don't have to act like a wanker while you're at it".SparkyPantsMcGee wrote:I want you to go ahead and re-read your post while paying extra attention to the parts I've taken the liberty to bold. But other then that, I'm fine with the way they're acting like a company by actually creating anticipation for "Ultimate Tenkaichi" instead of giving us everything and leaving nothing to be excited for after release.
