Re: "Dragon Ball Z For Kinect" Official On-Going Thread
The game is now being advertised on the US Xbox LIVE Marketplace (Kinect Central) and the narrator was changed to a newer guy that pronounces "Sei-un" like in FUNimation's dub.
On the UK Marketplace it is too, but only as a picture thumbnail with Goku kicking Raditz in the stomach which then takes the user to Kinect-compatible games.
Couldn't find the trailer on either YouTube or Namco Bandai's "Dragon Ball Games" website.

Re: "Dragon Ball Z For Kinect" Official On-Going Thread
I was expecting this game to be horrible since the day I got it, but I'm glad it proved me wrong. It's not the best DBZ game out there obviously, but it accomplishes it's goal in being fun!
It may seem repetitive while watching videos of the gameplay, but most of that feeling of repetitiveness is brushed away when you're actually playing it yourself. The main problem I have with the game is the "charging up." I always have a hard time getting it to recognize that pose. I've tried so many different stances for it. Spreading my legs farther apart. Spreading my arms farther apart. Raising my elbows higher. Bending my knees more. Leaning a bit forward or back. Nothing seems to give me consistent results. This wouldn't be as big of an issue as it was if doing "super moves" didn't require so much ki. You have to fill your ki bar up half way to do one special move, and you have to fill it up till it's full to do the second super move. It get's difficult filling up your ki when the opponent is constantly shooting ki blast at you. It's to the point where if the opponent is firing small blasts at me, I just let them hit me because I don't want to lose the stance I have that is actually charging up.
Everthing else seems to work fine. Sometimes the blocking function doesn't work for me, but it's no big deal. The game is very bare bones. Don't expect anymore than that. I'm really glad they didn't charge the usual $60 for this game and went with a $40 price tag. It's definitely not worth $60. Honestly, if I didn't have a $50 gift card, I probably wouldn't have picked this game up unless it was even cheaper. But I'm still glad I got it.

Hmm, any Kinect game that depends on a specific hand motion is...looking for trouble. It's just not that sensitive. It tracks legs, arms, head position, body angle, etc pretty well...but for hand shape? No the device is simply not that accurate.
I think the perfect Kinect Citizen is Dance Central. People should emulate how that game handles gestures...
Were there any voice controls in the game? That would have been perfect, combining the basic gesture with having to say "KAMEHAMEHAAA!". TOTALLY doable

That's what I thought, but I asked because of this post:VegettoEX wrote:Episode of Bardock is subtitled-only. Subtitled. Only. There are only subtitles. It is in Japanese. There are English subtitles. It it subtitled-only.
dbboxkaifan wrote:The only game that didn't make me sweat much was Kinect Sports, however, Ninja Fruit Kinect made me exercise and sweat a lot. Update
Review from an Amazon user:
http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Z-Kin ... 788&sr=8-4When the game was first announced i was worried that it would be like ultimate tenkaichi (UT) or the kinect sensor would not pick up. Well i am happy to say that the game is fantastic, however if you did not like UT then you should stay away.
When i first put the game in I found it used UT soundtrack, but i love that music, so it does not effect me. Still it has been a year since the last dbz game so a new soundtrack would have been nice. All in all this game is just like UT only you use your body. The animations are the same and so is the voice acting. A lot of stuff was recycled from UT, I can not stress that enough. The Story is the same from UT and the voices too.
One the positive side, Punching, kicking, and ki blasts work great. I have not had one problem with the kinect sensor or using super attacks. Its really fun to do a kamehamha or special beam cannon. WIth over 50 characters there is good amount of re play value.
The special movie is the story of bardock after he was killed by freeza, dubbed for the first time in english. Its about 20 min long. The true fans of dbz have already seen the movie in japanese, but its nice funiation is coming together to voice dbz one last time (they can't do it forever). Its a nice addition.
Overall I highly recommend this game , even its UT with your body as the controller. Fighting game fans might not like it, but bandia games made a great game for dbz fan and I'm glade they still care unlike toei animation. Weather you played UT or not, loved it or hate it, or like kinect games. Dbz for kinect is a great way to jump back into the dbz universe. JUST KNOW THAT THIS IS UT WITH YOU AS THE CONTROLLER, BUT THIS IS NOT A BAD THING, ITS AN IMPROVEMENT!
Both reviews are pretty damn good, I'll definitely have to try this game out myself than read negative after negative reviews.
You're joking, right? These have to be from the DVD version I hope, or else they're really bad for HD versions...dbboxkaifan wrote:songohan619 wrote:Could someone post screenshots from Episode of Bardock, and maybe compare them to the previous dvd version? This could be in HD like PtEtSS on RB2 for Xbox 360 also was.
These screens were from Dragon Ball - Games.
They're in JPEG so obviously compressed, whereas if they were in PNG it would be lossless and looked a lot better, I assume.

Toei Animation could have an HD version stored for a later release, and it might be in HD on this game but the only people that can say for sure if it's SD or HD are those who've played the game in HD.

I saw it on his Twitter that he has the game. I'm surprise that IGN has no official review of the game yet? The users on the site have give it a 5.6/10 going by the 14 ratings. It seem like very little people have bought this game so far.

Why do you care so much? Have you not read enough reviews to make your decision? Is IGN some bastion of journalistic integrity that no other site can match for you? I can pretend to be an IGN writer and tell you Dragon Ball Z For Kinect is going to blow you away, rip off your face and stuff it through a mailbox if you really need your fix.dbboxkaifan wrote:Where on earth is IGN's review of this game for lord's sake.
