I agree with you except for movie 7, I actually thought movie 7 was one of the better ones. The other 4, if I were to rank them, it would go like: 10 > 4 > 2 > 11. Those 4 are the worst to me, though I think Movies 5 and 8 are just as "good"/"bad" as Movie 10. So it'd be like 5 = 8 = 10 > 4 > 2 > 11 for me personally, with 11 being the worst out of them allHellspawn28 wrote:I think he means that Bio Broli will still hold the title for being the worst DBZ movie as being a bad movie and not the title for the actual film. Nope, if talented animators were available they would be hired. This isn't simply an issue of 'budget', it's an issue of time, connections and manpower. All more money is going to do is heighten the number of in-between drawings allowed. More drawings doesn't mean better animation.Blade wrote:There's a causal link. Smaller budget, smaller pool of animators, thus higher workload delegated to key or 'senior' staff with no change in the timeframe and deadline for deliverables.JulieYBM wrote:Yamamuro's drawings have nothing to do with budget. Key animators are paid by the cut (shot), not time. He gets his four thousand-plus yen no matter what.
Anyway, as director in 'Fukkatsu no F' he will be contracted as opposed to paid by the cut.
Yamamuro is not an employee of Toei Animation, so if he does key animation he is going to be paid extra.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I thought DBZ Movie 7 pretty much suck since nothing about it was special. The movie had more cyborgs created by Dr. Gero, they didn't have much personality going for them and they were forgettable. Super #13 is also just another typical DBZ villain in my opinion, his form looks ridiculous, he is just another buff up bad guy and he is a poor man's version of Cell. He also dies from another Genki Dama which was getting old and fast by DBZ Movie 7.
I doubt ROF will be as good as BOG but I don't think the movie will suck as bad as most of the older DBZ movies did. At least Toriyama tries new original ideas while Toei likes to rehash things (Lord Slug and Super 13).

The first preview screening is taking place exactly two years after the original release of the previous film, 30 March. Kei saw Kami to Kami on 13 March, which means that once again the film is in the can a little over two weeks before it officially releases.

Re: Toriyama's ideas.
I will be shocked (though pleasantly surprised) if they can top "Gokû desu." in this, imo. I just enjoyed that so much. I enjoyed Gokû in general in BOG (trifecta with the light blue sweatsuit, the desu, and then ssjg's appearance) Toriyama Gokû is so amazingly different and more entertaining to watch than Toei Gokû is.
I also want more Vegeta and Bulma interaction. I'm a bit worried because she hasn't shown up in any promo material yet. (Though I know there's a ton of promo material still on the way.)

I'm not sure why 11 gets so much hate. It's certainly far from the best - very, very far from the best - but I still prefer it over all of the Dragonball-era films aside from the 10th anniversary remake. I also feel DBZ #2 is the worse of them all and go back and forth on whether I prefer #4 or #11.SaiyanZ wrote:I agree with you except for movie 7, I actually thought movie 7 was one of the better ones. As for 7, I find it enjoyable over all. I also like how easily it could fit into continuity for the timeline created by the Trunks from Cell's home timeline.
EDIT TO AVOID DOULE-POSTING:
That's not as big of a deal for a country like Japan as it is over here, especially in 2015 when everything is digitial.JulieYBM wrote:The first preview screening is taking place exactly two years after the original release of the previous film, 30 March. With the author himself behind it who has a history of shaking things up,
anything could happen, and it affects the entire franchise.
Kuririn's new job and Gohan's tracksuit lead me to believe the first 25 minutes or so will be spent catching up with everyone. It would be a wasted opportunity to exclude Vegeta's home life and Bulma's (possible?) pregnancy.Chuquita wrote:I also want more Vegeta and Bulma interaction.

I'm very opposite in which I loved Bio Broly and frankly enjoyed a lot of the older movies more than BoG. I'm actually very positive that RoF will indeed be a much better watch than BoG.Hellspawn28 wrote:I thought DBZ Movie 7 pretty much suck since nothing about it was special. Also do you mean modern day Toriyama or young Toriyama in terms of new ideas? How many ancient beings that are super powerful and will come to Earth? These ancient beings has been sealed away in a slumber?
Piccolo Daimao
Boo
Beerus
This is why I'm happy that RoF used Freeza. I'm tired of ancients ancient sealed off beings.

Yeah even my guilty pleasure can't go that far. I did a rewatch of the movies a while back after my GT sit through, and Bio-Broly still sucked.Lord Beerus wrote:You got that right. It looks like a Freeza sample. Maybe when Trunks sliced him, part of Freeza was still alive?

Whatever it is, it isn't colored like a Dragon Ball, it has a pale blue hue to it.
