How do you guys predict that Frieza will be defeated in this movie? Vegeta will beat him down? Goku? Beerus? Whis? Spirit Bomb? Fusion? He'll give up and become a good guy? Something else?

There's no way Freeza will be left alive. Goku knows better after his first encounter with Freeza that if he's given any sort of mercy, he's gonna throw it right back in your face in a attempt to kill you. Vegeta would kill him for the sake of killing him.Bullza wrote:How do you guys predict that Freeza will be defeated in this movie? Vegeta will beat him down? Goku? Beerus? Whis? Spirit Bomb? Fusion? With the poster seemingly foreshadowing SSJG Vegeta what with the blue lightning behind him, Goku will probably fight with Freeza first and lose before Vegeta steps in and offs him. Of course its all speculation at the time but it seems plausible.

I would say Goku if this wasn't Freeza and if Toriyama wasn't involved but since it is Frieza and he is involved I don't think Goku will beat him cause he already did and I doubt Toriyama will go with that again.
I have 2 reasons to why I think Vegeta will be the one who finally puts him down :
1- Before the movie was announced Toriyama said he'd like to have Vegeta be the hero in it but he hadn't decided on anything yet.
A lot of fans took it as him just throwing around ideas and that he probably wouldn't do it and for good reasons one being that it would be hard to pull off.
2- Freeza is the main villain.
Then this was announced and what Toriyama said about Vegeta made sense cause if he was going to do it then there's no better villain to go with then Freeza cause he was already defeated by Goku which gives Toriyama a good reason to change things up and with Freeza being Vegeta's arch enemy it makes sense to put him in the spot light without it feeling rushed like what some thought it might be when Toriyama announced it but now it serves the story and won't look out of place.
In terms of Beerus,Whis and fusion I don't think he'll use them in this movie especially not the first 2 cause this is Goku&Vegeta's battle.
The Goku part is shown in a picture and with Vegeta getting a new form I doubt Toriyama will give it to him just to have him lose in it.KentalSSJ6 wrote:

I just hope Freeza will live at the end of the movie. I think he escapes or he becomes immortal allowing them to lock Freeza away for good.

What I hope for is that they focus on Freeza's character and his history, rather than just any old strong foe who has returned. I don't want the villains to be cardboard targets that are simply there to be knocked down, but given how Beerus and Whis went in BOG I shouldn't have to worry. Breathes. This is Toriyama, not Toei.Hellspawn28 wrote:I just hope Freeza will live at the end of the movie. I think he escapes or he becomes immortal allowing them to lock Freeza away for good.

Hm, I can see that. I think I just didn't have as much problems with the movie as I did others, even if it was kind of lacking.Hellspawn28 wrote:I thought DBZ Movie 7 pretty much suck since nothing about it was special. The movie had more cyborgs created by Dr. Gero, they didn't have much personality going for them and they were forgettable. Super #13 is also just another typical DBZ villain in my opinion, his form looks ridiculous, he is just another buff up bad guy and he is a poor man's version of Cell. He also dies from another Genki Dama which was getting old and fast by DBZ Movie 7.
I doubt ROF will be as good as BOG but I don't think the movie will suck as bad as most of the older DBZ movies did. At least Toriyama tries new original ideas while Toei likes to rehash things (Lord Slug and Super 13).

Yeah, Toriyama at least cares about how his main villains or antagonists are treated. As supposed to Toei who treat them like jokes the minute their arc is over. The worst example being Cell getting one-shotted Pikkon, who in turn is shown to not much stronger than full powered SSJ Goku. How does that make sense? It's even when you take into consideration that happened only four episodes after Cell is defeated. Talk being treated like you're so last season.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:What I hope for is that they focus on Freeza's character and his history, rather than just any old strong foe who has returned. What's worse is they had Frieza's brother and the legendary Super Saiyan all to them selves and they did 0 with them.Lord Beerus wrote:Yeah, Toriyama at least cares about how his main villains or antagonists are treated. As supposed to Toei who treat them like jokes the minute their arc is over.

I thought myself that Vegeta would be the one to defeat Frieza but now that I think about it it'd mean that Goku would have to lose against Frieza even though he already lost to the villain in the last movie, twice.
Then going back from that Buu's defeat was a shared victory, Goku fought against Vegeta and it ended in a draw, he fought against Cell and gave up, he fought against Android #19 and technically lost.
Ever since Frieza he hasnt really beaten anyone except that scrub Yakon. At this point he could really do with having a significant win.

Which is what I love about Toriyama's writing cause he doesn't over use ideas which keeps things fresh and interesting.Bullza wrote:I thought myself that Vegeta would be the one to defeat Freeza but now that I think about it it'd mean that Goku would have to lose against Freeza even though he already lost to the villain in the last movie, twice.

Goku like you said only has one big win on his list which makes it and the fight special.
Vegeta's only big win was in the Saiyan saga against Goku and Gohan's was against Cell which makes both wins and battles special and memorable.

I'm glad that he does keep it pretty unpredictable, I did like that he lost at the end of Battle of Gods myself. I wouldn't want it to become like a lot of other shonen manga where the main character always defeats the main villain either.
However I think at this point, being that he he hasn't had a notable win in the last two thirds of DBZ even though he's the main character he could really do with one now.
And if he ends up losing to someone who he'd already beaten before and then Vegeta who has always been traditionally weaker than Goku then steps up and is the one to defeat Frieza then Goku is gonna just look as incompetent as the others.

Somewhere I saw Freeza has a belt with some rocks(a red one is almost certain) on it, and as I remember a white one is also present there. I imagine those rocks are precious ones in sense that they are magical ones, which can grant something if they are collected together. I'm feeling thay have something to do with Freeza's God(or something equal) powers.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Nah, there's a rock or something in his hand:Beerus-sama wrote:I think its just the lens of his scouterDragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:Does Sorbet appear to be holding something here, or is it just me? Are you thinking of the toy's sash? The white rock is what's throwing me off. (Maybe you're thinking of his chest piece?)Low Tone G wrote:Somewhere I saw Freeza has a belt with some rocks(a red one is almost certain) on it, and as I remember a white one is also present there.
For the uninformed, it reads 祝復活 which translates to "congratulations on revival".
I hope he's shown wearing it at some point in the movie proper.

It's hard to say Z has one main character cause we're always seeing someone different in the spotlight.Bullza wrote:

I highly doubt the others will be able to touch Frieza let alone hold their own against him like Goku will so saying he'll be looked at as them is kind of unfair.

That title is not as generic as the brazilian title: "The Final Combat".UltimateHammerBro wrote:"Dragon Ball Z: Super Warrior Defeat!! I'm The One Who'll Win" isn't a great title, but at least it fits the "overly generic sounding" feel the DBZ movie titles have.Zelvin wrote:The DBZ movie to hold the title of worst shall forever be "Bio-Broly"FortuneSSJ wrote:Anyway its still too soon to give up. Well Goku is the face of the series and is regarded as the main character. Though whether or not he has the most screentime in Z or Gohan does I'm not sure. The main character really should be having a better track record than what he currently has though.

I mean more so in getting results. Obviously he's always going to be one of the strongest characters but it doesn't really mean much if he can't ever beat anybody, they were lucky that Beerus was in a good mood in the last movie. I see comments with people not liking that Goku lost in the movie, not too many but if it happens for the second movie in a row then I can't see people really liking that.
There's a picture from this movie with Goku on the ground looking beaten, presumably after fighting Frieza so I can see it happening. It would be nice for Vegeta to have a major win but not at the cost of turning Goku into a chump.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
The problem with that is the other characters will get overshadowed so it's best to keep him on the same level as everyone else to keep things interesting.Bullza wrote:

Dbz wouldn't be where it is if it went with what people wanted and besides he was the winner in 9 of the original 13 movies so they have that.
Turning characters into chumps and forcing them to push them selves is what Dbz does and I doubt that will change here.
When Goku beats someone I want it to make sense for the story and not just happen for the sake of happening and beating Frieza now falls under the second category.

Characters being overshadowed in DBZ isn't anything new, in fact it'd be better if this movie had a smaller cast so it could each one more than just one line. They can still keep the characters relevant without them having to fight. Goku was supposed to be the best anyway.
Dbz wouldn't be where it is if it went with what people wanted and besides he was the winner in 9 of the original 13 movies so they have that.
That's just non canon material though it doesn't really mean anything. Even before Frieza he sorta lost against Raditz, then Vegeta and I suppose Captain Ginyu so it is a pretty poor showing.
They should never turn a main character into a chump. Characters like Yamcha and Krillin turning into chumps is one thing because they came to realise that they were significantly outmatched as they were just human, plus they were secondary characters who got pushed to the background more and more.Turning characters into chumps and forcing them to push them selves is what Dbz does and I doubt that will change here.
Nobody wants their main hero to be a chump who just loses time and time again.

Yes but it's just that that hasn't happened in an incredibly long time. It should have been spread out better than it has. Goku should have won in the movie following Battle of Gods and then it wouldn't have made it so bad if he were to lose in this movie.
It was balanced much better in the original Dragon Ball. He didn't win every fight but he still proved to be a very capable fighter and so people counted on him to save the day which in the end he would like a main character should. In DBZ though the Earth as been at threat from Vegeta, Cell, Buu and Beerus and each time Goku has failed to stop them.

-Worst Movie-
I was talking about Lord Slug.
-Tori's Goku-
Definitely more interesting and a better character than Toei's Goku.
I always liked how Toriyama has the balls to make him lose/give up even though this is a shounen and he is the main character.
-Freeza powers-
It would be funny if the Ki that Goku gave to Freeza in the end would be the source for his upgrade.
Since I saw Freeza in the poster with that ssj god aura, that moment always comes to my head.
