It's not without precedent: Toonami aired the original Dragon Ball anime right alongside DBZ (and I believe they even had a thing where they would air an episode of DB, Z, and GT back-to-back).
I am going to assume they are going for continuity on Toonami, and will air the episodes sequentially, in my opinion they will formally announce the Boo arc near the end of the Toonami Cell airings.
Maybe Toonami will grasp the numbers and realize their main attraction is DB KAI and will air multiple "new" episodes in the block to speed the process.

I just realized something, though I doubt it will happen. Yes, there are fans who were introduced to DB through Kai and never saw the Boo saga. At the same time, DB Super will take a long time to reach new material. Why not show Boo Kai on Toonami, have the Funi cast dub the BOG and Resurrection F sagas of Super as Boo Kai is airing, release said arcs direct to video while showing the movies which the sagas are adapted from on Toonami, create a Super recap episode to take care of discrepancies like Piccolo dying, then start airing the actual new Super stuff. Practically nothing would be lost in doing so, yet at the same time it satisfies almost everybody: those who need to be caught up, and those tired of playing catch-up with the rest of the world.
It wouldn't surprise me if someone brought up this possibility before, and again, highly unlikely to happen. Still the best compromise at this point, IMO.
Edit: Also, edit the movies into multipart episodes ALA Saban Tree of Might if necessary, it will still be shorter than airing the Super episodes...

I think that's a great idea. However, does Piccolo dying even need to be mentioned? I completely skipped the first 27 episodes of Super and started watching at episode 28 ("The 6th Universe's God of Destruction - His Name's Champa") and, honestly, I didn't miss a single beat. It was like a direct continuation of the movies. I was actually surprised at how well it all flowed. Not even once is Piccolo's death ever mentioned.

I really hope they do this. Even increasing it to two episodes per week would help greatly. I was so excited when they did exactly that a few weeks back, but unfortunately it was only a one time thing.

They want to keep those views for as long as possible so airing one a week makes more sense.

Yeah Piccolo's death was utterly pointless other than for a Z throwback which Super seems to love so much.
Reason it flowed so well is most likely because Toriyama wrote the U6 as a direct continuation of the movies hence why things like Gohan wanting to train again hasn't been built upon.

I see some big possibilities here with Comic-Con. Think it's gonna happen?

Apologies for the double post, but it seems the dub of Super was confirmed. Does this mean they are skipping the Majin Saga?

Doubt it. Likely cut their loses with the Buu Kai and release it along side Super.

It probably means we'll get Kai sooner than later cause if they just started with Super they're going to want to have something air while they work on it.

Disappointing, but I guess it was to be expected that they'd can it. With Super being the thing now, there just isn't a market for re-releases or remasterings.

Nothing has been said about it being cancelled.
Have you seen Toonami's ratings ? Kai brings in 300000 more viewers than their other shows and its been on home video for years so if something that old and widely available is doing so well, how do you think a Toonami exclusive will do ? Kai's Buu arc will make those numbers look small.

The dub of Super was confirmed? Well whaddaya know? Then again, this isn't the 90's or early 00's; I'm surprised it took this long. Guess that means I'll have something to look forward to I guess.

Well, sort of. I think it's
right on the edge of announcement.

The Super dub hasn't been announced, but the Beerus VA posted and then quickly deleted a picture that seems to show him dubbing Episode 1.
Keep in mind, the Boo Kai dub has been done for a long time, so beginning the dubbing process doesn't necessarily mean anything in terms of release, but I assume they want it out sooner than later.

I don't know about where it's streamed, but keep an eye on Funimation's twitter (twitter.com/funimation) and blog (funimation.com/blog). Their twitter did mention that there was going to be a surprise announcement at this panel.

I'm beginning to think they might just air it without announcing it.
